All major high line boat builders are using outboards. Boating for many years with inboard. Outboards are the way to go. You nick a prop, easy to change, shallow water just tilt up engine.Easy to service, no mess or stink in bilge. One engine acts up, You still get home, on the other. No heat exchangers, water strainers, oil and water leak worries. That's why Hinckley, Mjm, Backcove, Sabre, and many other builders offer now. Its because experienced boaters want them. We have been there with inboard, never again.

Boating in the NW during the wintertime is the best keep secret of the NW 🤫 It’s my favorite time to be on the water, too.

We don't currently have any 605s on order, but we do have 695s incoming and we'll definitely do a video on one of those. ETA summer 2021 👍

If you didn't have those idiotic outboards you could heat the boat with a blower off the engine cooling.

      Lol ok 😂
This boat is also offered in a diesel inboard version if that's more your style. I've run both extensively and they are both great 👍

Good to know...I've seen the 30s with inboards, I thought the 32s were outboard only.
I'm assuming the diesel inboard is less expensive?

@@charlesharper2357 you're correct that the 32 is outboard only and it is the 30 that is diesel inboard. I commonly refer to them as the same boat other than propulsion because from the transom forward they are the same. Same interior, same deck, same layout, same dimensions. The differences are:
      1. Different propulsion
      2. Some changes to the hull bottom to accommodate for the different propulsion and speed of the outboards (but again the deck and interior are the same)
      3. The 32 is slightly longer because of the long swim platform to accommodate the outboards
The 32 generally speaking seems to appeal to people who want the option of reaching their destination faster (cruise in the 30s easily). This is popular for families where mom and dad still work. Weekend trips to further destinations like the San Juan Islands here in WA are possible/easier.
The 30 diesel generally speaking appeals to folks who have a little more time on their hands and prefer to cruise a little slower (still pretty quick - high teens) and/or who prefer diesel propulsion as personal preference.
We sell a lot of both and they're both well liked.

Outboards are preferred by those with more dollars than sense. ;-)

@@charlesharper2357 Outboards are preferred by those with more brains.
Can trim up and get through shallower water, and lift the engines completely out of the water when stored.
Far higher cruising speed with high efficiency. Far higher top speed.
Easier to maintain as there are no obstructions to access anything.
      Easy to re-power.
In the case, of this boat you get two engines so you have redundancy.
Also in the case of this boat, that big area that was for the Volvo, is now an ENORMOUS storage area. Cutwater also increased the fuel capacity of the outboard model to 300 gallons (inboard is only 180).
About the only thing the inboard diesel is good at is going slow, and burning a little less fuel. Theoretically you should get appx 6000-8000 hours out of the diesel. The outboards are good for appx 4000 hours.
Once Cutwater starts offering dual 300hp Cox/Oxe diesel outboards it's really game over (life expectancy on those engines is 10,000 hours)
