How do the 4TB and 8TB models function? Apple constrains those to Apple Silicon Pro and Max configurations I thought? Are there different density NAND chips, or the title just means that if you have a higher spec Apple Silicon Pro or Max laptop?

DosDude lives in Virginia, USA. They do mail-in service. They quoted me $320. $200 for the service $120 for the NAND chips.
They said 3 weeks, but what was your turn around?

No, basically impossible to get the chips unless you pull them yourself, and the BGA pitch is incredibly fine.
