I love the way you make these videos. Plenty of action and monologue without trying to have "epic" slow-mo shots or unnecessary creek shots. You have found an excellent balance of what a fishing video needs. Obviously this is one man's opinion, but I eagerly await Saturday mornings for more tenkara action!
I appreciate that! They're the kind of video I'd want to watch, mixed with what is easiest for me to make. Basically I just go fish and cut out all of the unnecessary stuff 😄
@@TenkaraAddict Your videos have been a huge influence on my own videos. They are, in fact, the whole reason I bought a tenkara rod when my flyrod broke. You make it look enjoyable.
Another fantastic video flick. Beautiful creek. Beautiful weather. Beautiful fish. Nice compact rod that got it down too. The only way your day could be better is afterward, relax and enjoy a good cheeseburger and German Octoberfest beer to reflect on the days events. Heaven achieved! Mahalo senor!
Thanks so much for your videos Tristan. I watch every week when I can. Your fishing videos are one of the best on TH-cam. Loved your statement "wrapped under and around that limb and spit the hook. The End."
Lovely environment.I do tenkara in Yorkshire England because of watching you.👍🏻. Unfortunately the trout season has closed until mid March🥲. I miss it already. Will watch you over the closed season on here catching 👍🏻
Great little creek! I'm a fly fisherman and I love little creeks like that. I know that Tenkara and Fly fishing are very similar in a lot of ways even though a lot of the " purists" in both genres will beg to differ. I have been wanting to get a Tenkara rod for a long time and I think this video persuaded me to do so. I've been a subscriber to SUVRVing for a while and decided to check out your other or THIS channel and It didn't disappoint. I take it that you tie your own flies as well? I started tying a few years ago as something to pass the winter months where it's warm and I fell in love with that as well as the fishing aspect. Both your channels are great please keep up the good work.
I made the switch from a fly rod to tenkara a couple of years ago and can tell you that though they are similar, hooking into and landing a fish on tenkara is far more exciting
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I tie all of my own flies. I think different types of fishing appeal more to different types of people. Traditional fly fishing has never really interested me, but tenkara did as soon as I learned about it. If you're interested, give it a shot! If not, regular fly fishing is great too 👍
Dude I fly fish religiously, but I thoroughly enjoy your videos, been subscribed since 3k. I feel you on the trying not over do it on each pocket. Just got back from a trip where every ten feet looked good. You just have to pull yourself away, even though all you want to do is give it one more drift.
I have been been fishing small creeks here in Nebraska for a while now. When I say small, the creek in this video is a river when compared to the creeks I fish. Some are barely 3 ft wide, but they hold some of the most beautiful bookies I have ever seen. I have been looking for a small tenkara that will make it a little easier to fish these streams. They are also brush and week choked so casting is a real issue with a typical "small" tenkara. I fish with a 6' 3wt western rod that seems to work best. But still problems with casting. I loose 10-12 flys an outing to the weeds/trees. So any suggestions on a Tenkara that might work, especially for bow and arrow casting in small spaces.? Thanks, I love your videos.
Tristan, tell me about your waders. Are they used to keep you warm or keep you dry? Are the shoes attached or do the waders just attach to your laces? Brand?
Hi again Tristan. Fascinated by Tenkara. Are Tenkara flies fished best just below the surface or deeper? They look a lot like dry flies, but aren't as I now know. Great video as always. Greetings from Ireland btw
You tell us about the fly you are using, but it seems you always catch fish regardless of the fly. Are the fish just not so picky or are you just good at catching fish?
Great video!!! Too bad you don't like to eat trout, because that last brookie was the perfect size to roast over the fire, and brook trout are the best tasting of all trout I've eaten 🤗🤗🤗
Hi Tristan. I know you don't like taking about equipment too much, but would like to know what rod(s) you do think are awesome. I think that Kurenai may have stolen your heart, and we all know you often gravitate to the Suzume. Heard nothing about the Daiwa Sagiris.... Any others?
FYI - For viewers. The rod is actually 10' 4". Website states it's incorrectly labeled. I was thinking of getting it until I read that, don't need another 10' rod.

Been a long while since I commented on one of your videos. This is exactly the type of stream I try to fish all the time. Keep em comin'!
Definitive pocket water, indeed! Another great tenkara outing - gratitude, as always, for sharing these adventures with us!
Thanks Michael!
I really enjoy your videos and I really like how you handle the fish respectfully.
Thanks!
Thanks Tristan for sharing, nice creek and fish, especially the brook, brook.
Love the enthusiasm and upbeat attitude while at the same time respecting the natural environment = catch and release.
After all of those rainbows, you end with two BIG brookies! Wow!
Yep, pretty great!

Thanks Jeffrey!
That was awesome! Never would have guessed Wyoming. Beautiful.
There are creeks and rivers like that all over Wyoming. In my opinion only Idaho has more
Lots of great creeks in Wyoming, for sure!

Several of the places I fish have year-round fishing, but practically fishing them in winter is another matter!

Tenkara fishing is FUN. And so fast... it takes literally seconds to take out the pole and start fishing, unlike other set ups.

I really enjoy your videos. Would love to see you do a complete video with the Suntech Kurenai or the Prospec 33 if the opportunity presents itself...
Nice job Tristan! That was a wonderful bit of time on the water.
What a gorgeous stream
You did great! I got two this morning on the Ogden! Great brown trout
Thanks again for a great video, I only wish that you put out two or three a week as I love watching them .......
Great outing Tristan I need to get out and fish now Looking forward to next Saturday’s
Thanks Dave!
Outstanding footage! Amazing video.
Those were awesome fish
Agreed!
0.30 - “I have this 11 foot rod, should be a perfect fit. I don’t need a super long rod to fish this” lol
great looking river!
Sure is! Thanks Patrick.
I would love to see you tenkara fishing for bigger salmon. That would be the ultimate challenge.
Check out Tenkara Rod Co on TH-cam. They have videos where they fish for huge trout and salmon
The problem is that I just prefer fishing small creeks. But I've fished for kokanee before: th-cam.com/video/Iu0ly1AOma0/w-d-xo.html

Exactly! Thanks for watching all these years 👍
Do you ever get up into the high Sierra Nevada ponds and lakes for trophy size (5 - 8 pounds) vermillion flanked brook trout?
Gorgeous stream. Could it be any better? I somehow doubt it.

I've 25 season passes in a row to Park City. Plus, played all over intermountain west. I miss Utah...
This was in Wyoming. But Park City is fun. My sister lives there 👍

Прекрасная природа и интересное видео.
Спасибо!
Boom 1 awesome!!!!
Nice video, as always 👍
Thanks!
This rod looks suspiciously identical to the Aventik Tenkara Mini, especially the handle section. Different color of course.
Great video!!! Too bad you don't like to eat trout, because that last brookie was the perfect size to roast over the fire, and brook trout are the best tasting of all trout I've eaten 🤗🤗🤗
That's what I've heard!
in my place it's called fish benter (a type of small small fish), what bait do you use?
Awesome video . Even tho the locations are remote and the fishing great , do you ever run into another fisherman in these places ? STAY SAFE
No, I don't. I can't remember the last time I saw another angler on the same stream as me.
Heaven!😎
Pretty much!
Dude! Nice creek!
"Not an awesome rod"
Gess you'll ruffle some feathers 😂
Again, nice vid, thanks for sharin!
😎💕
Shrug. Not every rod is amazing. Thanks Carlos!
I know and i'm always thankful for your sincere thoughts on gear you use.

Wnen I come up on pockets like those I’ve labeled them “Honey Holes”
I know this place!
FYI - For viewers. The rod is actually 10' 4". Website states it's incorrectly labeled. I was thinking of getting it until I read that, don't need another 10' rod.
👍
Is it the State’s fish and game reps that you have to use barbless hooks?
No idea. I do it just because it's easier on the fish.
