The Sierra is our 10.5 ft Tenkara rod. It is our go to rod for medium sized rivers and fish. Ideally trout in the 10-16 inch range. But it can also handle larger trout, and works great if you are fishing water that has a lot of overhead coverage because it is shorter than rods like the Sawtooth or Teton Zoom. It has a soft action so casting is precise, and it makes playing the fish a lot of fun. Honestly this rod is a lot of peoples favorite just because of how fun it is to fish!

Nothing like that new cork smell 😌 Love the new color on this one!!
Love my Sierra, took mine on my first fly trip to the Sierras a couple years back and killed it !!! Thanks guys
So many fun little streams and lakes in the Sierras we need to go back!
oh yea look at that color pop! i need another!
i have the old green sierra & tube, really like the updates to the looks of your rods, this one especially.
Ya we kept the color pretty similar on this one because we love that color so much!
I use the Sierra Rod often while hiking around the Eastern Sierras. Awesome rod!
Such a cool zone to fish can't wait to go back!
Ah, dang! Now my favorite rod looks old and outdated. I really love my Sierra, it is pretty much my go to for smaller water. If ya didn't make these rods so nice I might need a new fancy one. Instead, I'll catch a bunch with the old green standby. Thanks for all the fun!
Super similar to the original model just a few minor changes. We even kept the color pretty similar because we like it so much.
I did the Uinta Highline Trail with my Sierra Rod! Caught my first Tenkara fish on the UHT! I reviewed this on my channel! Love the new color! This is a great rod!
Awesome thanks for sharing we will have to watch the video!
Ordered mine yesterday. Looking forward to trying out this fishing method!
Hope you like it!
I love my Teton mini next time you make it up to Alaska let me know I would love to flip for reds with you guys on tenkara
That sounds like a lot of fun!
Just looks like a fun solid rod
Coming your way!
@@tenkararodco yeah I’m freaking excited!!!!
I'm seriously gonna have to get one of these bad boys for the PCT
Not adding a ton of weight at all you should!
With the flex, is this a 7:3 or a 6:4?
We would rate this one at a soft 6:4
Looking at this model or the white cloud. Just getting into Tenkara fishing. I’m from West Virginia. The biggest fly rod you really want to take is an 8 foot fly rod. But I’ve heard you want a longer Tenkara rod. Which model would you recommend. Thank you!
Hey Caleb great question. Totally understand your dilemma here. The White Cloud is a super specific rod made for small fish and small streams (or teaching kids how to fish) and isn't a great all around rod. Where the Sierra is a more all around solution for fish in the 8-16+ range. So we definitely would steer people in the Sierra direction if fishing in WV. Let me know if that helps and good luck!
Why is this rod so expensive?
Each rod has at least 8 different sections of carbon fiber that have to fit perfectly into each other and provide the correct action so that you can easily cast line and land fish. We feel like they are fairly priced especially when you consider their warranty and comparing them to traditional fly rods.
