This video shows how I record videos for my new youtube channel! I don't have windows in my craft area and hardly any natural light, so I use two lights and 1 phone arm stand! Any questions feel free to ask!

I have a desk lamp that has the same arm and desk clamp as your phone holder except it's a lamp. I use it over my work area with a daylight bulb so I can clearly see true colors. Love this thing!

I still havent played with it yet....I already have an ott light that my hubby found at goodwill and I freaking love that thing! My son has a TH-cam channel that he has been doing for years and he is encouraging me to take a swing at it too. Who knows? Lol..for now I just share stuff with my friends. Love the adjustable arm! Curious to see if it hold up and you like or if it’s wobbly? I have Ott lamps from Costco that a combo of your two laps. I love the USB plugs because I can plug in my phone if process video is long. TFS 💙💙💙

Thank you. Was wondering if that holder would work better than my gooseneck one I have now which wobbles all over whenever I try to zoom in. How do you do that if the phone is up high and you can’t see what you’re recording and it’s hard to reach the phone to zoom in by pinching it in and out?

Hi I am from Australia and I just watched your tutorial. AMAZING....I have been wanting to do small tutorials of stamping for a group I have but haven’t had the courage or the know how. I have just ordered the arm for the phone...my silly question is if the phone is obviously upside down how do you see where you are recording and how do you stop without getting your head in the video. Also do you use a certain app for recording longer videos...thank you in advance ☺️☺️☺️

If you haven’t tried, it looks like you can tighten your Ott Light where it bends. It looks like the side might be a sort of a big plastic bolt, like maybe you could use a coin to turn it like you’d use a flat blade screw driver to turn a small bolt. At any rate, thanks for the video. With this Corvid-19 pandemic, my local bead guild is looking at ways we can do our classes through zoom. Would probably have to clean my desk first, though (haha),
Thank you so much for this -- I'm having the same issue with the goose neck thing -- I found one I loved and the part that holds the phone snapped off in a week -- so I was on Amazon and couldn't find any info, decided to ck on YT and found your video. Also, can you please tell me which employment agency you used for your assistant? Right now my current assistant was billed as adorable and will boost your creativity -- but this is his first job and he keeps playing with the pencils, etc. in the containers and he keeps purring, which causes me to pick him up and I never get anything done -- At 10 wks old, I thought he would be more professional -- sorry, I not only have the Covid-15 (maybe pushing 20; all we do is eat), but the covid-cra cra -- ha

Received an Android Cell for my birthday and hubby built me a phone extension arm, found lights at Good Will and am ready to go, but not sure what to do from here. Do you have fresh advice now that you have been doing it a while? The background you use, is white, my desk is dark brown, is white better? My desk top cleans up easy.
Will you suggest editing programs that are free too? I do not know anything about Video recording so am not sure how to figure out the numbers to set on it. Does TH-cam Studio teach such? Currently I am looking up info on how to use my video camera, but they are not mentioning settings for overhead video's ect.
Is there a way to see what I am recording on my screen as I work, so I stay in the area, as you can see I have lots of questions as a beginner, that you yourself may remember....
Having a white/light colored background, helps when recording it looks more bright so your audience can see better. I use free editing app on my iphone called “imovie” im not sure if android has a comparable app maybe. And im not sure how certain youtubers watch themselves while recording, they have their computers set up to their phone or something😂🙈i center my phone above and hope i stay in frame😂

Fun Paper Art hi, the otto light is a brighter blue color if that makes sense! Very fluorescent color! The costco light.. lights up more surface area, kinda like headlights it goes further on that light🤗
Craftpurge are you using both of them together for your previous video? I really like the idea of the metal arm because I am planning to film tutorials and the space on my desk is small, so that would be a solution to film tutorials, but I also need something to avoid shadows since my lights will be behind my desk. Thank you for helping, sweets!
Fun Paper Art so the only video so far is the "exploding box" tutorial where i used the two lights from the side! Pitch black at night👌🏻 hope that helps

So do you use phone or iPad to record? I’m trying to get iPhone to capture double page layout but then it shows black bars on sides of video when uploading...like I’m supposed to only record portrait and not landscape...does that make sense?
jeanielinguine yep i record with my iphone, you have to record with ur phone sideways(landscape) because when it uploads to youtube all youtube videos are landscape size. If u upload portrait orientation you’ll have the black all on your video😭

How do u place ur iPhone in holder face up or down and when it’s horizontal is the home button on ur right or left ? Mine keeps reversing the video when uploading to TH-cam 😕 any suggestions
Yeah i hate the iphone does that🤦🏻♀️ my phone is facing down and horizontal, home button is on the right. Sometimes the video uploads right but most of the time reverses the video🙄 i just rotate the video once i upload it! You can rotate in a editing software or if u dont edit, you can rotate in youtube, pain in the butt i know.

It's Natural imovie flips the movie way faster! When u edit in youtube, it takes awhile cause it flips each frame at a time😳🤣

Katspaperdesigns hi Kat, if the video is short 2-7 mins long i just edit on my iphone and upload from my iphone. With the app called imovie. If my video is longer and i want to join multiple videos and adjust volume/ speed, i download onto my computer, edit video on imovie app on my desktop mac, and then upload to youtube from there.

Oh and I use a Sonyx6000 that I use to film..but after 15 min it gets hot. and shuts off, Yeah got several hurdles to cross! LOL!!

Question: how can I see the shot as I'm filming/taping? And what if I quickly need to pause/restart videotaping without having to edit later on?
I use my phone & need to make a pause video to share. It may not be every phone, so that could be a issue....
