  • This video contains every Disney in Wish, including about a few dozen that I don't think anyone has found.
    I went frame-by-frame through the film and spent a lot of time googling names and rewatching classic Disney films..

    Here's a Disney reference you missed: During the first scene with Asha and her friends, one of them offers their cookie to another and says, "Take mine." This is most likely a reference to 101 Dalmatians when Roger says, "Take mine," as he offers his handkerchief to Anita.

    When Asha’s friends hold the ropes and they jump to open the roof of the castle, it resembles the way that Quasimodo was ringing the bells in Norte Dame. And of course they shout like Tarzan.
    Other than that, I see Valentino, being a goat, always supporting the main female character as a (wild) reference to Djali, the goat of Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Was happy to notice Peter Pan and Mary Poppins. Also the scissors remind me of Auroras dress scene. I had a feleing that Ashas friends are the dwarves but i didnt notice that they even have their clothes. I thought Dario is Happy because he loves to make fun and Hal is Dopey but something wasnt right. Oh my God, they even have names starting on the same letter like their equivalents!

      Dahlia = Doc
      Bezeema = Bashful
      Gabo = Grumpy
      Simon = Sleepy
      Safi = Sneezy
      Makes me wonder if these 7 are supposed to be the parents of the 7 Dwarfs, as Magnifico turned into the Magic Mirror in Snow White. But then that makes me wonder if Amara is Snow White's mother, meaning she remarried, and the Evil Queen later comes in and finds Magnifico and decides to use him when in power.

    There is a night scene where she looks at a mural of Magnífico in a pool of water and then splashes it away. I think this is a reference to Megara from Hercules in the "I don't think I'm in love" song OR to Simba in the Lion King. Also, a lot of the murals remind me of Atlantis' underwater cave murals that Milo and Kida explore together. Finally, the forbidden book tends to light up from the center like a lot of Atlantis items.

    For me the Book of Spells from Wish strongly references The Book from Hocus Pocus.
    The scenery of the ocean during the song This Wish immediately makes me think strongly of “Go the Distance” from Hercules.
    The singing trees in “You’re a Star” are a clear reference to 1932 Silly Symphony.
    The first time Asha sees the wishes it’s not only like Sweet Nightingale from Cinderella but also the scene from Raya and the Last Dragon where she first meets Sisu and there are large water droplets floating around her.
    Several scenes with flocks of pigeons flying harks back to similar scenes from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Valentino could be modelled on Djali from HOND.
    Gabo says at one point “Move or I’ll break the door down”, clearly referencing a similar line by the Beast in Beauty and the Beast.
    Welcome to Rosas is very similar to Family Madrigal. During “The Thanks I Get”Magnifico swirls the wishes around in a very similar way Elsa swirls mist in Frozen 2 during Show Yourself. When Asha runs up the tree it’s very similar to Elsa running during Into the Unknown.
    During “Knowing What I Know Now” they make percussive music out of laboratory equipment, the same way the gorillas do so in Tarzan.
    Even though the bear seems to be John from Robin Hood he does evoke both Brother Bear and the mum from Brave (maybe this is a bit generic).
    The way Asha dives in the ocean out of the boat is similar to Ariel diving in the water to stop Ursula’s wedding, or even perhaps Jane from Tarzan jumping out of a rowing boat (albeit less gracefully).
    Amaya becoming aware of Magnifico’s narcissism and evil plot is a similar plot device to Anna becoming aware of Hans’s similar traits in Frozen.
    Personality wise Asha is most like Moana and Mulan for me - a little dorky at first but highly ambitious and heroic.
    The scene where everyone sings in solidarity with Asha, ultimately defeating Magnifico, reminds me of the scene in Dinosaur where the entire herd turns on the villainous carnitore, driving it away.
    Curious to see what others think!

    Okay, so i just realised something about the queen. I think she eventually becomes evil after the end of the movie. Sort of like a Disney Orogin Story if you will. This is more a less a theory fo what i think the writers were going for.
    So after magnifico becomes trapped in a mirror, he's basically hinted at becoming the mirror on the wall. Since the queen is, well, the queen amd is now the only monarch, she might still talk to him through the mirror or something??
    Basically, shes a queen with a talking mirror so that kind of sets up the evil queen from snow white. Disney's first animated film. Hence the movie being sort of an origin story for Disney as a whole. Asha's frinds being a reference to the seven dwarfs may also play into this some jow but im not sure? That part wasnt really needed anyway.
    This whole theory is a huge stretch but its just something i noticed...

    I can think of one. Remember when Gabo says, "What are you, five?" I think that may have been thrown in there to allude with Grumpy from the 2010s Disney show, The 7D, because he says the same thing in some episodes.

    -there are melody references as well. Such as during "What I Know Now" there's a "Be Prepared" reference in the melody at the part where Star pretends to be Magnifico withholding the wishes. Just before the line "Can't they tell we'll be coming?". I don't know where all of them are in the movie though.
    -Not sure if anyone else noticed it, but Gabo also does the Fix-it Felix hop in the same song.
    -And them building the castle out of random things around them may be a reference to Sofia the First episode "The Shy Princess" when Sofia and Vivian are building their dream castle in a similar manner.

    The animation during the chicken's dance is taken straight from "Be our Guest" in some spots. The room where they decide to revolt is referred to as "Sanctuary" like in the Hunchback. Valentino I think is reminiscent of Esmerelda's goat and there's a scene where he's under Asha's dress and I think there's a matching scene in the Hunchback.
    At the end when Asha is flung to the ground after grappling for the staff the whole scene is very similar to Jasmine trying to get Jafar's staff from him.

    MULAN! The drawing Asha drew of her and her father sitting on a tree in the pencil sketch style reminisce of the Chinese style paintings and reflects the part where Mulan and her father sat by their tree. The flowers in vertical style mirrors Chinese Calligraphy too.
    Hunchback Of Notre Dame: Opening Sequence of Rosas with the puppetry performance reminds us of Clopins Puppets!
    Another one was the little guy in Magnifico's This is the thanks i get: "Quasimodo" lifting in a burning fire!
    Treasure Planet: Star and maps references are quite peppered around and loved how they included it in the opening sequence (fav movie thingy)
    Wished Atlantis' reference could be more obvious like only the dialogue could have included "the whole of Rosas could have sunk with the use of magic and power this selfish" or something.
    And because the theme of friendship and teamwork is strong, while it may have been created with the dwarves in mind, i couldnt take my brain off thinking that Asha's friends reminds me of Big Hero 6 too!
    And then Hal, Hal just reminds me of Tiana somehow!

    There are few I think I could see,
    With the song "Welcome to Rosa's" 🎶
    - could be homage to Tangled (the people dancing together, the painting on the floor, the yellow flowers as windmills) as well as the man that had long hair
    - also a pumpkin passes straight in front of them being pushed in a wheelbarrow
    - the argument between Asha and Gabo could reference Mulan and her father having their argument.
    - behind them is a "device that gets used to make the fire stronger" is standing upright behind them (I think there is one in "Sword in the Stone" when Merlin uses his magic to help Arthur and clean all the dishes.
    - the moment Asha talks about her father and her younger self sitting on the tree, and what he said quotes Walt Disney
    - in "Thanks I Get" there could be some references to Gaston when he looks in the mirror and himself all says a line as he loves himself very much.
    - Asha's earrings could be a homage to Maui's hook 🪝
    - I think the dress of the Queen could represent Elsa's with the flowing back veil
    Still looking for The reference to Atlantis?

    I saw this movie in theaters, and I did manage to catch some references. I'll just list them really quick.
    1. The "A Walt Disney Feature Production" sentence from Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs at the very beginning of the movie.
    2. A woman making the blue version of Aurora's Dress from "Sleeping Beauty" in one of the wish bubbles during "At All Costs".
    3. A pair of scissors cutting some pink cloth like in "Sleeping Beauty" or "Cinderella" (I haven't seen the latter for so long) when Magnifico grants one lady's wish.
    4. Two animals calling each other Bambi and Thumper after "I'm A Star".
    5. Peter Pan flying with three children in a wish bubble and Magnifico mentioning Neverland when he crushes it.
    6. Magnifico saying "Popping this one!" before crushing one of the wish bubbles after seeing that the wish is for the perfect nanny for someone's kids.
    7. Magnifico quoting Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" by saying "So much for true love!" after crushing another wish bubble.
    8. Of course, characters from the prior WDAS movies being shown as constellations during the end credits.
    9. Sabino playing "When You Wish Upon A Star" from "Pinocchio" at the very end of the movie.

      His staff's tip where he trapped is not the same shape, size or colour as the wall mirror in Snow White so, logically, he shouldn't be. It is just a hidden Easter Egg according to Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee and the same goes for all other references in the movie. Maybe there will be a non canon book series or TV series that explores this scenario but all these are parallel universes. In Serena Valentino's Disney novel, Tale of the Wicked Queen,the mirror's ghostface is the ghost of the queen's bullying father (not canon to the movie) and by the end of the book, the wicked queen also becomes a (benevolent) spirit in the mirror.
