    I have been researching for a while. I would get very frustrated when people didn’t measure and just “eyeballed it”. I like measurements and to have a consistent product each time. So thank you for helping me understand how to come up with a formula!!!!!!! You’re amazing!!!!!

    An easier math equation to do is to take your calculator and put in the total batch amount which is 30 and multiply it by the percentage....30x88.5% then click = which comes up to 26.55, I came from the old school of math which is much easier than the new math they teach with so many complicated steps :) I love how you explain the formulations, I was someone who would put 5 oils into a body oil but now rethinking it.

    Hello, I'm a beginner. I've mixed oils for years not understanding percentages(just adding things I like almost like a cooking recipe). I appreciate your tutorials and this information so much ..so I can help keep my consistency. I also loved learning about the vitamin e helping to prevent from getting rancid🌟 You are a talented and knowledgeable gem. So great what you share and how you promote other small brands. Gratitude 😁❣

      @@TaraLeee I commented on this video I hope you can find it I was unable to tag your name but another question I had was where are you purchasing the Natrasil because when I Google it it's giving products with that in it already it's not actually giving that product that I need so I'm having a hard time on finding where I can purchase this product thank you in advance❤

    Tara you have NO IDEA how much you’ve helped me. After 2-1/2 years I really considered taking a formulation class as i felt it was the MOST important thing to learn especially dealing with the public’s skin and this has helped so much! Thank you for this and yes I actually paused the video and did the math to challenge myself and now better understand working in grams, percentages instead of oz… you are a true blessing to us who are not just out here throwing together recipes to make money; I am one that personally care about my customers skin, and longevity not the money; so again MANY THANKS! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

    Funny... I watched you a month ago and realized I was lost most of the time because I just didn't understand the big picture, mainly because I hadn't even decided on what I wanted to make/ingredients... So... I've spent the last month researching (aka lots of google) and purchased all the ingredients I want to use. Now I am ready... Re-watching and loving it... Again! PS I forgot the most important thing though... A scale ....ugh. Soon to be...

    Girl, you are totally the Chemistry teacher I never had. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR VIDEO! I am so in love with all the natural essential oils, and in the mist of creating my skincare product line. I would like to know what you think about scented candle. I love my house smelling fresh and clean, but ever since my Doberman puppy arrived, I’ve stopped using it. Because i know the doggy nose is so much more sensitive than us human, and I dont want to do any harm on his breathing systems. So for the love of my dog, I am making essential oil blend to drip them on crystals and make a air freshener out of that. Unfortunately the smell is very faint, nearly unnoticeable :(

    Oh I use glycerin a bit higher than 5% 😬 I love lotion crafter. I just love making stuff. I’m curious about when to use which emulsifying wax and which preservative. I used germal plus but I want to know if I should use others and why. These questions are floating around in my head. Nice video

    • @TaraLeee
      @TaraLeee  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Even though the recommended usage rate is 1-5% I think it is totally fine to use it at a higher percentage. It won't do any harm to your skin. I think they recommend 5% as the maximum because it can feel greasy, but as long as you enjoy using it at a higher percentage, it is fine. :)
      Typically emulsifying wax is used to make emulsions like lotions. It helps thicken formulas and emulsify oil and water. As for the preservative question, it typically depends on the ph. There are other exceptions, but typically the main one is ph. Some preservative are only active in specific ph levels. liquid germall plus is okay to use in ph levels 3-8, which works for most products, unless you are making liquid soap.
