I found out the hard way that bacteria was in my lotions and a lot of diy videos on body butters do not address this issue or put alchohols or preservatives in there videos. I thought being all natural was the way to go but it was way more harmful for me in the long run. I had no idea why I kept getting frequent infections and couldn't tell my lotions were even bad so keep that in mind. There needs to be more information for diy lotions out there so thank you for this. Think I may go with isopropyl alchohol just a little to help keep my diy products clean
I am finding the same thing with all the body butter videos! Also as well as seeing a lot of sellers selling products with no preservatives to the public.

This is a great video about preservatives! Tara, you did an excellent job. I use Liquid Germal Plus in almost everything. It is such a reliable preservative. There are some others I use and keep on hand. Like Luicidal Complete for skin conditioning, but always use another preservative like LGP. I also use Optiphen and Optiphen Plus in a few formulations. Hi I love how detailed you were in this video. I saw other videos which those youtubers stated you shouldn't use no more than 1.5 % preservatives in your products. So if you're making a big batch (let's say to fill approximately 20 jars ) would you put more than 1.5% or is 1.5% the perfect measurement no matter the amount of product you're making
I’m pretty sure the percentage always stays the same as that is the formula. What that translates to in terms of grams (weight) will depend on the batch size.. 😊

I started using it in my serums for almost a year now but I totally agree that it makes the product clump after a while. Tara, I have an idea for your video: In your last video u said that formulating is not so easy as it seems in the video , it can be quite tricky and tears I think it will be awsome if u can record/film when u formulate a « Wong » product so we can witness that it’s not so easy Especially measuring the grams of each ingredient even with a pipette , it’s quite headache, often times the measurement is not correct ; same with lowering the PH, drop too much citric acid etc It’s quite a journey following the measurement of a formulation
I have filmed quite a few failed recipes over on my Patreon. I post 2 exclusive videos over there every month. So there’s lots of other content over there that you don’t see here
Thanks for this video!! I have a few questions. What do you pair the Leucidal SF Complete with when it comes to comfortably preserving products for customers? And would that pairing work well for body sprays with high water content, moisturizers with water and oils, and creams with water and oil? And what preservative would you use/recommend for an all oil product. I know an all oil product doesn’t need a preservative but I’d like to use one. Also, what preservative would you recommend for baby products? Thanks

Which preservatives do you recommend using for tropical climate countries? Leucidal sf complete is not available in my country sadly.. Thank you and love your videos!
Hey Tara - love love your videos! Curious about your take on Willow Bark Extract as a preservative -- have you tried it before? If so, what are your thoughts on its efficacy?
If I want to make a hair cream with butters, oils, and MAYBE aloe vera, which preservative should I use? Optiphen? I have curly hair so I have to style it while it's wet, so the cream may come in to contact with water.

May I know what's preservative most suitable in powder face masks? The formula is just a simple one : Zea mays starch, Kaolin, cocoa powder (sometimes we change it with various types of powder such as: rice powder, oat powder, activated carbon / Charcoal)
Hi Tara love your channel. I've learned so much. I have a question about using fresh fruits in our scrubs, lotions, creams and toners. Can we use fresh fruits and foods to make long lasting products? For example making A papaya scrub and a papaya paste was used can it be bottled and sold?
Hi Tara, just watched the video. I wanted to see if there is a naturally extracted preservative you can use for body scrubs and butter? I watched the video and then it went over my head
Hi Tara! So, I know I can use natural aloe vera juice in my body scrub as long as I use a preservative, but I saw online that I will also need a chelator? Do you have any info about that?

Tara, I have an idea for your video:
In your last video u said that formulating is not so easy as it seems in the video , it can be quite tricky and tears
I think it will be awsome if u can record/film when u formulate a « Wong » product so we can witness that it’s not so easy
Especially measuring the grams of each ingredient even with a pipette , it’s quite headache, often times the measurement is not correct ; same with lowering the PH, drop too much citric acid etc
It’s quite a journey following the measurement of a formulation
I have filmed quite a few failed recipes over on my Patreon. I post 2 exclusive videos over there every month. So there’s lots of other content over there that you don’t see here
I understand your struggle 😫
Sooo informative. I love this channel
Thank you sharing these information, it is really helpful
Thanks for this video!! I have a few questions. What do you pair the Leucidal SF Complete with when it comes to comfortably preserving products for customers? And would that pairing work well for body sprays with high water content, moisturizers with water and oils, and creams with water and oil? And what preservative would you use/recommend for an all oil product. I know an all oil product doesn’t need a preservative but I’d like to use one. Also, what preservative would you recommend for baby products? Thanks
Thank you Tara, you are the best. This is Whitney 😁
Thanks alot for the information.

If I want to make a hair cream with butters, oils, and MAYBE aloe vera, which preservative should I use? Optiphen? I have curly hair so I have to style it while it's wet, so the cream may come in to contact with water.
I make my own hair cream and I use liquid germal plus preservative. You can use optiphen too, its all about preference.
Thank you! How do you know how much to add to the cream I am making?
