Metro Last Light - Killing boss in catacombs with KNIFE

Don't know what happened, but he stopped attack me, i have no bullets and i tried to kill him with knife, right in pussy in his head :D It was too long, but its was done)))

I had same thing with this boss, almost gave up after 15 minutes of knifing him and he ran through wall to next room where he started to attack me again. Then I wanted to quit but tried few times to knife him and he was down!!! Let him destroy all pillars in both rooms, dont know if it is anyhow connected to killing him faster but i killed him after I did so.
