Zane is hands down my favourite interviewer by far. I have a lot of people I genuinely enjoy their interviews but Zane is the best by a landslide because you can tell he is genuinely interested in everything they say. Absolutely love him!
For real. And He handles his interviews is almost more like therapy than an interview just for the sake of an interview. Like look at his Hayley Williams interview. No one else could handle that conversation the way he did. In other interviews the artist will say something like "yeah there was a moment where I almost ended it" And they'll just be like "oh well glad u didn't" But Zane asks the deep questions in response. The reason they didn't, the reason they almost did, the details of the moment etc. Really respect him for always being invested in the music and in the artist as a person
This album made me cry and even this interview. I don’t struggle with drugs or anything like that, but it’s a pain that I deeply connect to. Maybe it’s the loneliness or feelings of abandonment...it’s just a general sadness that’s hard to explain.
God bless Travis for being such a wonderful human being! Such a wonderful mentor and inspiration to Kells. This album is much more than just awesome music!
It’s sad what he said about labels not in a rush for a mgk album. I mean it’s good at the same time cause he didn’t have to rush it & that’s why it’s such a perfect album in my opinion. His other albums are fire too🤙🏽
Karen Richards like his label or just any label in general wasn’t in a rush to make a mgk album. It probably didn’t bother him because it happened so much times to him & he laughs about so it just shows he’s humble about all of it.
@Karen Richards I was thinking maybe it wasnt a rush because Hotel Diablo wasn't even out for a year when they were working on Tickets and he usually has 2-3 years in between albums. But now that this album went #1 Im sure theyll push him to get more music out
Zane is such an amazing interviewer and is able to read between the lines to really capture what the artist is trying to say- you can tell mgk really respects his interpretation and notes on the album.
I understand "Play this when I'm gone' is a letter to his beautiful daughter but means so much to me. I just lost my best friend and every part of me is her and I will miss her forever...it's my her song ❤ I just turned 55 but her mother sent me a happy 29th birthday, lol, it was perfect.
UGH this interview was SO good, very real, you could tell the interviewer really cared and was very smart, and it would’ve been so great but he KEPT saying Kelly 😭😭😭😂
Kells & Travis killed this movie 🎥 been listening on repeat!! Yous are so beneficial to each other. What a great friendship. I’m so happy yous both have strong, nurturing and loving woman.
I am so happy that Travis and Colson are buddies 🙏 Travis is such an genuine and kind soul and he is such big inspiration 🙏❤️ it's amazing. I think they created such an amazing album.
I think this will be the album/time where kells realizes that the drugs are actually holding him back musically and in his personal life. Hoping he gets clean soon
Zane is gen x and millennials go to guy for music interviews. It’s not just the interview-he forges relationships that last decades. He is great at what he does getting the background/music process, plus the personal place they were at when they made the album. Amazing album-first one since stadium Arcadium I was invested In
I love MGK music he is very amazing I'm a big fan and when I saw kelly interview with him I was like no don't quite what you like doing and keep music coming.
Such good insight into this album. I haven’t been able to listen to anything else since it came out on the 25th. It so raw and real and I can relate to it so much. 🔥
I love anything MGK makes, but I haven’t listened to the full album because it is really sad. I pray i get a chance to meet him before he anything happens to him. Which of course i wish doesn’t happen 🙏🏽
Love this album MGK as put out a great body of work from out the gate Lace up, General admission,Bloom, hotel Diablo, Binge, black flag,100miles and running Now tickets to my down fall.. wit that said the one thing I wanted to see was yelawolf on this album..maybe we’ll get him on the next one XX gang gang love love ESTfam..when is Travis getting his double X tattoo??
I can tell the interviewer is genuinely excited to talk to them and actually a fan, but I cringed every time he called him Kelly. It didn't seem to bother Colson too much though. I'm gunna go find more of he's stuff now. I've never been a fan of a specific music journalist/interviewer before.
I like how the interviewer is genuinely interested and excited to hear their side. The chemistry in this was fire
Yeah zanes always been a good interviewer. You can tell he’s passionate.
Haha, every interview that Zane conducts feels like a therapy session. Dude is fantastic.
Zane is so good, his interview with Sheeran in 2017 changed my life , just 2 guys on a couch talking like theres no cameras there
except he didnt know colson, kels, MGK, col.... has never been or will ever be kelly.
gunner, young gun, young gunner, gun, never EVER kelly.
this album has been on repeat, it's a masterpiece
Indian gang
Om Mahadik lebrb
Music taste is wifey material
@@bison301 what?
Jijo Daniel excuse me? Was I talking to you
MGK was right when he said tickets helped gave him peace, and that travis was the ultimate mentor
Colson baker aka Kells
How do you know that though?
“I didn’t know what I meant until you just said that.”
I really truly love when artists have moments like that in interviews.
Zane is hands down my favourite interviewer by far. I have a lot of people I genuinely enjoy their interviews but Zane is the best by a landslide because you can tell he is genuinely interested in everything they say. Absolutely love him!

Mine was that Australian guy, this dude is a close second tho
This album made me cry and even this interview. I don’t struggle with drugs or anything like that, but it’s a pain that I deeply connect to. Maybe it’s the loneliness or feelings of abandonment...it’s just a general sadness that’s hard to explain.
One of the best interviews with MGK about the album that dug into the process of making TTMD. Loved hearing Travis Barker’s perspective.
Excellent interview. This guy is a consummate professional.
God bless Travis for being such a wonderful human being! Such a wonderful mentor and inspiration to Kells. This album is much more than just awesome music!
I love the relationship between kells and Travis we get to see here. I’m so touched
This album was perfect and has so much heart and soul put into it.
Zane Lowe with one of the BEST interviews ever. 10/10 questioning that elicited deep answers and insight into MGK and Travis’s work. EXCELLENT work.
This is the best interviewer I’ve ever seen becuase he doesn’t make it feel like an interview. It feels like an open conversation with great chemistry
This album is FIRE
Album is perfectly balanced, happy, hyped songs to dark undertones in life. no wonder it has great reviews
Mgk is a legend.
we know this
I cry every time I hear that song. My dad died in 2008 and I miss him every day. That song helps me because I still grieve everyday
So great when the interviewer takes the time to do their research and shows empathy and is invested. Great interview!
OMG this was awesome to watch. I am so glad Colson has Travis as a mentor in his life ❤️
Travis has the most soothing voice!!
‘Play me when I’m gone’ hit me deep.
It’s sad what he said about labels not in a rush for a mgk album. I mean it’s good at the same time cause he didn’t have to rush it & that’s why it’s such a perfect album in my opinion. His other albums are fire too🤙🏽
Karen Richards yup I agree
Karen Richards like his label or just any label in general wasn’t in a rush to make a mgk album. It probably didn’t bother him because it happened so much times to him & he laughs about so it just shows he’s humble about all of it.

@Karen Richards Well yeah i guess if you count Binge too. I usually dont count that cause its technically an EP lol
Karen Richards yeah for sure. He’s always grinding for the fans and that’s why we love him 😂
Zane is such an amazing interviewer and is able to read between the lines to really capture what the artist is trying to say- you can tell mgk really respects his interpretation and notes on the album.

What a great interview. Both of these guys so real and fascinating. And Zane always asking questions that aren't just standard fare.
this interviewer is the best one I've ever seen
Critics don't get it sometimes. All they want to do is give a score. This is someone who gets it! Bravo Zane!
Just an absolutely perfect interview, loved and was invested in every second and question
Love this interview. He lets them speak without interruption.
Everytime the song starts (play this when...) I have to cry and I dont even know why, somehow its hitting me hard every single time.
UGH this interview was SO good, very real, you could tell the interviewer really cared and was very smart, and it would’ve been so great but he KEPT saying Kelly 😭😭😭😂
Love the album bruh ❤❤ he's finally getting recognition . EST19XX forever ❤❤
Love @ 3:10 where you get to see the excitement come out of an artist like MGK when creating music, not often those kind of moments occur
This dude is the best interviewer
What an amazing interviewer. 👏🏼
Kells & Travis killed this movie 🎥 been listening on repeat!! Yous are so beneficial to each other. What a great friendship. I’m so happy yous both have strong, nurturing and loving woman.
It’s so pleasant to watch interviews as professional as this one 👏🏼
So happy that they have this relationship both for the music and the supportive friendship ❤️
Much respect to the both of them for sharing this interview and process behind the scenes.
I am so happy that Travis and Colson are buddies 🙏 Travis is such an genuine and kind soul and he is such big inspiration 🙏❤️ it's amazing. I think they created such an amazing album.
i think a lot of people can relate to this album. it hits personal
Very much so
I cry everytime i hear 'play this when i'm gone".
I think this will be the album/time where kells realizes that the drugs are actually holding him back musically and in his personal life. Hoping he gets clean soon
I've thought the same thing about mgk for a long time,we all love a "buzz" but qoute, Macklemore. It's not conducive to being creative.
.
just wanna say that song was the first mgk song that made me cry. trav u r a real G lmao. fr man killed it
I'm so glad MGK changed his lifestyle, I really need him to stay in our world.
Perfect interview and crazy album it's exactly what i needed right now
Love this album. Absolute masterpiece!
"Play this when i'm gone"...best song
This guy interviewing is amazing
zane lowe, he does a lot of interviews for apple music
Travis Barker = one of the best drummers of all time. And GBH!
The interlude is really cool😌😌
Thank you Zane Lowe
Dope album, good fr the scene ✌️

Love this interview. Well done, good sir

I'm going to purchase this album! Much respect, love and appreciation for this conversation/interview.
Zane Lowe is the best at his craft; understanding the artist, the music and breaking it all down.
I loved the atmosphere in this video
Finally a proper interviewer!
But he called him kelly tho
@@elsalvadorxx5891 it's not even big deal
I love MGK music he is very amazing I'm a big fan and when I saw kelly interview with him I was like no don't quite what you like doing and keep music coming.
Mgk: Kurt Cobain meets Tom petty yes

Love this interview!

Well this made me cry.
I will forever cherish this album deep in my heart
Great interview!❤️
They went deep on this!!
MGK hates when people call him Kelly.
Yeah He hates it when people act like it's his real name. I think when someone just says it in passing he's probably fine with it.
I never understood why he's ok with Kells though, because it isn't a nickname for Colson, but for Kelly, can anyone explain to me?
Well he looks like a kelly now
These two are legends!
Happy Birthday Kell's
My Heroes
amazing interview
Great interview
needed this
Awesome interview
I love anything MGK makes, but I haven’t listened to the full album because it is really sad. I pray i get a chance to meet him before he anything happens to him. Which of course i wish doesn’t happen 🙏🏽
One of my favs forever💞strikes my soul💔💖
Woah Travis barker spoke?!
Mgk holding back telling him he hates the name “Kelly”
Read the lyrics without the music. This isn’t pop. The man has gone deep. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🔥🔥🔥
GREAT INTERVIEW
It's also badass to hear that Travis took him under his wing and is like a big bro to MGK to help keep him level and now MGK got the girl too. Awesome

Zane Lowe is the greatest interviewer of all time
This is great!
He called him Kelly. Lol
Hahah
Since he wore that Dress I knew he would make big Numbers 👁🤞🏻
Which dress? The VMAs?
Hahha AMAZING INTERVIEW
i really hate how the interviewer keeps calling him kelly😂
7 people who liked don’t have heart this is inspirational
*disliked?
It's kinda weird that they decided to use old walkman phones for the interview.
I love this!
Ahhh I hate when interviewers call him “Kelly”
EST 🙅♀️🙅♀️ we made it 🤘feelin like a proud mama these days
We all make mistake, but the wise rise.
that outro seems like a weird edit, as if the whole version of them all saying bye was cut out. seems abrupt after such a good interview
L.E.G.E.N.D 🤘🏼😍!!!
Why only 17 minutes??? 😭
I can tell the interviewer is genuinely excited to talk to them and actually a fan, but I cringed every time he called him Kelly. It didn't seem to bother Colson too much though.
