Glad you are putting this together. The USB/Mixer combo or “Mixerface” concept isn’t difficult but it seems to really screw people up. This will help. I was thinking of doing a full routing tour of my set up. Every piece of gear, every cord, all my preferences and settings in my computer and mixer. It would be a long one though.......
Having a mixer and a usb interface in one is great. This mixer definitely gives a nice vibe to the room... Vibe?... I mean it is a nice buffer between the analog and digital worlds. 😜🎧 I am sure if you did that video it would help some folks out. I know the other routing videos you did have help some people.
Matthew Stratton the first video I ever did was a routing video with crap gear...after 7,000 views later and 45 👍 I realize now that it was helpful. Wish all my videos will do that well
Matthew Stratton I’m trying to figure out a set up for myself. You own two pieces that I was considering one or the other. It makes me wonder why two are needed. Isn’t the zoom l12 and the soundcraft 22mtk kind of in the same lane? Why both? Do you prefer one to the other?
Hey there Matthew, congrats on a nice setup video. There's one thing I'm wondering about though: Why don't you make a template file in the MPC software. Basically an empty song but with all the tracks set to the correct channels on your interface/mixer. This way you can just open your template songfile and save yourself the hassle of setting up all the channels for each new project.
Bout to purchase one of these now I'm sertain there class compliment and can control all outputs woththe faders on the mixer via usb to my mpc one am pumped az
You've popped up in searches for 3 different pieces of gear that I own now, lol. Mpc Live, rc-505 and now soundcraft mixer. Get out of my head Matthew 😂
I love the this lesson Thank u so much But sir🤦🏽♀️ when I connect my mixer to my computer it doesn't detect the drivers even upon downloading and installing the souncraft sound drivers. The message it gives in the control panel is "no device connected" pls doesn't the drivers work with Windows 10?. Pls help!. Thank you.
Hey.. This Video was quite amazing... May I know is there any switches we need to turn on or off for getting the sound from computer or just connecting USB will work
Cam you tell if we can use all outs in Windows app. Exemple one out for skype other Obs other for any app? So we can use various prograns at the same time. Thanks
Im running audio feom my mpc one to my soudcraft 22 channel what leads do i need to get my audio out of rhe mixer ans run it back in to my inputs on my mpc one or can i record back in to mpc via usb also ?
Hi Matthew, I really enjoyed the video but I havent found anyone who explains the bit before...i.e. how to set windows up to the mixer. It seems that if I had MPC it would be really easy but I don't realy need a DAW, I am mixing 3 instruments and voice in a church and need to play MP3s from my computer and at the moment the only way I can connect is to use a USB to 2 x RCA and have the computer as an input....I have downloaded the ASIO drivers but just cant figure out how to set the inputs and outputs up in windows.
hey in the soundcraft usb control panel. i do not have a volume tab. i am seeing the mixer though if i connect it to obs but cant record anything. help?
Dear Matthew, These videos are very helpful to me - thank you for that. I will receive my 22MTK in the very near future. Are there any follow up videos on your 22 MTK setup? best, vapili
I'd like one more answer if i could. Currently I only have two microphones (channels 1&2) and a guitar (channel 7) into the board. If I tun the microphones or the guitar all the way through the roof - it's wicked loud but the VU meter barely registers - like it hears nothing. I must be missing something - any idea what? Thanks in advance.
I dont suppose you would know how to ungroup 1/2? cuz if im using a mic on channel 1, my audio is only coming out the left ear on calls via discord, facebook and other places. Id rather have channel 1 as a solo mono channel instead of 1/2 being stereo (left/right)
Hello, this is Stephen from India.. I recently bought a Soundcraft mkt 22 channel mixer and it is Good, but when I am trying to record via USB it's not working. For example, when I am pressing the recording button on the mixer for the individual mic the sound output is not coming out through speakers or in laptop. Can u help me out to resolve this problem.
Soundcraft should be sending you some money or free stuff! You've covered this mixer in more detail than they did. I've got a question for you, please. My setup is a bit similar to yours, I have some vintage hardware synths, samplers and outboard fx and some software plugins. Up until my computer died 2 weeks ago, I had a Mackie mixer taking my hardware outputs and they then went into a stereo PCI card in my computer[meaning I could monitor 16 tracks simultaneously, but only record one piece of hardware at a time]. In the Soundcraft driver/mixer software, can you use the same channel USB outputs more than once on different tracks in the DAW? Or once you've used them on one track, won't it let you use them on another track? Hope that makes sense.
Matthew - thank you for the video. I own the board and am setting it up now. Quick question: In the Control Panel>Manage Audio Devices - what do you have set to "Default Device" and "Default Communication Device" under the Playback tab. Also - what do you have set to both of those items under the Recording Tab? I tried what the Record guide suggested and the audio is horrible. I chose 1&2 on both and it cleans up but I cannot record a darn thing.
I don't really mess with the control panel devices if I don't have to. I set the devices in the settings of my audio software. What software are you using?
Windows 10 going into Reaper. I know Reaper up and down. I use to use an Allen and Heath but only L/R output. I'm putting in a drum room so I want multiple mics - all separated - that's why a new board.
Apple have fiddled once again and obsoleted this wonderful USB console currently in August 2019 :( Bringing down our studio yet again. Frustrating company. Stay off Mojave.
“Bing......BING...” lol
Oh you heard that too, glad I wasn't the only one. 😂
So much of my unique questions where answered by watching this related to my soundcraft! Thank you!

The inputs are paired, or can be set individually? I've saw a video that the inputs are individual, but here are paired...
do you have a video on mixing with Soudcraft 22trk and logic Pro??
