I have watched this video and the top end rebuild. Very good stuff. I have coolant mixing with the oil and leaning towards it being head gasket related. If these water pump seals fail would that make coolant mix in the oil?

Bad seals can absolutely cause coolant in the oil and vise versa. Thanks for watching! Good luck with your repair!

@@JWSRepairServiceLLC I also watched you top end rebuild and had a question. I have purchased 2 top end cylinder kits and both the hole for the water port tube is too big. The water port (from the stock cylinder you remove) just falls in with 1/8” or more all the way around. Have you had any issues with that?

@@bradleygarst9119 Strange, I have not had that issue. I only use Niche cylinders and make sure that the application is 100% correct, they all may look similar, but there can be slight differences from year to year and model to model.

So the shaft broke in 2 right at the base of the impeller. Does that mean the motor needs to be pulled and split open?

Ouch, that's not good. That shaft is an extension of the oil pump drive shaft and will require complete disassembly and replacement of the oil pump to get a new shaft.

Ok thank you for responding. Looks like the nut came off and hung up and snapped it in 2.

So if you put the seal in the wrong way would it not seal. I saw it had ridges not like the chips lol on that side .

Either seal installed the wrong way would result in failure of the seal. The mechanical seal can't be installed "upside" down as the lip would prevent that. If the oil seal is installed backwards, it would allow engine oil to fill up the area behind the mechanical seal and cause it to fail. Mechanical seals rely on precision ceramic surfaces to make the seal. Any contamination of those surfaces will cause it to leak. Thanks for watching!

Looks almost impossible to do with the shaft in the way...
