I’ve probably heard and seen every version of this beautiful, melancholic tune on TH-cam. Some 15 - 20 times. But this one stands the tallest. No doubt whatsoever. And ther handholding and kiss brings it back to a whole other level - not music. But performance art. Bravo!!
One of the most beautifully rendered version of this haunting historic ballad of English injustice, and Irish suffering, loneliness and longing, exquisitely done with pathos and poignancy.
truly amazing what a beautiful meeting of two gorgeous voices to tell this story in song and I love your version of Caledonian as well thank you for both
There is only so many times that this song version can be covered, no matter how good or beautiful, Whats the point ? this song version is arthritic, Oh death where is thy sting ? The song version is so old it has grown a beard. That's why there are so many other versions, House, rap, rock , dance etc etc. I am a lover of this song but honestly, enough is enough, it has got me in tears, and not from the plight of the famine either but tears from boredom. And then I listened to CRAFT 's version and blew me away !
I adore them! ! Was lucky enough to get to see them perform this live.... and well..... hoooolly fried lobsters was it amazing or WHAT! ! However i must admit that I love Scrum just as much. ...and thos version is waaaaay easier to sing even for someone like me who sounds like a wailing cat ;-)
+TheJohanIII This is a traditional presentation of the song. I like the Dropkick Murphy's version too, but not because it's them. It's because it's the song.

Wow, I've known this song all my life but I've never heard a better version. The final verse was especially beautiful.
How do they sing that song without getting choked up? I have tears just listening.
That was lovely. Thank you so much.

A shamefull episode in British history. Tears in my eyes every time I hear this beautiful song.
And there have been plenty in the past.

Oh man, why did this great vocalist leave the band? To sing in a cover band? I can't believe... Come back to the band, mate! Come back to Scrum!!!
Scottie is missed. Scrum isn't the same without him..
No way
Still miss him....aint the same without him
Hm, you should try doing a version of The Green Fields of France
What is the original lead singer's name and wtf did he leave?!?!?!
Dropkick Murphys verision is better, but this is good also.

and sacra arcana's version too (unknown hungarian band, but if you liked dropkick murphy's version you 'll probobly like that too )
Szabolcs Farkas
As I said, I like the Dropkick's version not because it's them, but because it's the song.
