- Hello everyone! My review on the Thomas and Friends movie Journey Beyond Sodor is finally here! This movie was a pretty okay one, with a lot of things that made it good, and a lot of things that made it not so good. But what exactly WAS good about this movie? Was it better than The Great Race? has anyone noticed that in some scenes, James' tender wheel frame sticks through his rear buffer beam? am i the only one who saw this!?
Shit I didn't know that when thomas Theo lexi and Marlin are not even on the tracks when they pop from the bushes AND HOW THE FUCK THEY MANAGED TO GET BACK ON THE TRACKS WHEN THEY ARE ON A FREAKIN HILL WHICH IS FAR FROM THE TRACKS?! 4:12
The only good songs in Journey Beyond Sodor are Hottest Place In Town,I Want To Go Home and The Most Important Thing Is Being Friends
It's great!
I don't mind the body movement and bouncing in the film.
I love the dynamic between Thomas and James, it's always amusing seeing those two bring out the worst in each other. Mind you, it was also in the end where the engines make amends and put an end to their rivalry.
What I really like about this film is the character development for Thomas. We all know how much the little blue enhine wanted to see the world, and in this film he gets his chance, but realises that the grass isn't always green on the other side. He finds out that not everything is what it seems and he then wants to be home with his friends.
The new characters are also fascinating. My favourites would be Theo, Merlin and Hurricane.
The music is nice, but it can never beat the music from TATMR (Which, in my opinion, is the best).
The songs may not top the songs from TGR, but they are rather good. My favourite song would be I Want to Go Home because of how beautiful it is.
However, the ending was a little rushed.
Plus, I think that it would have been cool if the rest of the Steam Team (Along with Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Toad, Rosie, Stanley, Billy, Molly, Murdoch, Neville and Harvey) had went with James to the Mainland to find Thomas (Similar to the version by The JBS Group. However, if you were to ignore the rushed ending, this film, along with S21, feels like a perfect series finale to the whole show. I really wished that they had ended here as the show was never the same again when BWBA came along...
The way I see it, Thomas and them are alive, so why can't they bounce around and move their bodies?
