    Japanese H1 steel is a higher end blade steel that is essentially rust/corrosion proof and is a material of choice for those working in and around salt water. The trade off is said to be edge retention, H1 has a very low amount of Carbon content and that is a primary contributor to a steels hardness. In short, this steel is considered to be soft.
    Frankie and I start with a razor edge sharpened to 18.5° (same as the previous Tan Flipper test) and cut cardboard until we lose the phone book paper edge. We will show before and after of the steel close up. The H1 surprised us a little! Frankie volunteered to be the test cutter lol
