I have the snow foam/wash - I was thinking of just going touch less for a first attempt (spray on/leave for a few minutes and wash off) would this be OK and, would it be OK to do a touch less wash before hand for just routine maintenance?
@@nicdeste Yes, you can leave it on for a bit and then just rinse it back off. I meant that at some point it needs a mitt to touch it to be properly washed. So if you do not use a mitt with the IX Snow soap then you still need to wash it with Reset using a mitt. Doing a true touchless wash will not clean your vehicle properly.
@@SkyCarCare hey buddy, sure yes I know/appreciate that a contact wash is always more thorough, my question was whether there were any risks as such with using it via a touch less method kinda thing - I rinse after via a DI vessel, so the water is pure and air dry…

I used Iron X LS on paint, I sprayed more than this demo, then I rinsed but it produced foam and I had a hard time rinsing it off. Is it a cleaner too or it is the way it is?
It sounds like you used the wrong trigger. Was the trigger you used white? If so, thats probably the CARPRO Foaming trigger that you used which creates a foaming affect of the product sprayed through it. If IronX dries on the surface before you rise it off then just go over it with a wash mitt or sponge lightly while rinsing. I do that as a habit anyway.
@@SkyCarCare I think I used the chemicals spray, but it did not come out foamy. It came out like expected, sprayed liquid. I waited 2 minutes, I don't leave it long because I always have trouble with drying stuff, it's summer now. Then I rinsed. But now I saw the video, I'll do it like you here with the mitt
This video is to discuss each of the IronX products but you only need one of the ironx products on a given vehicle. Having said that, you can use the same mitt with each of them, should you use one or the other.
On some of the detailing forums, I read of posters prepping a car for polishing/coating, applying Iron X to a section and then claying that section using the Iron X as the lubricant. They then move on to polishing from that point. Do you recommend claying with Iron X as the lubricant? I would not have guessed a product designed for Iron decon would have the lubrication ability to act as clay lube.
Well, it will work for sure... If looking to save time then it can save time as well. For me it would add time since I like to clean off really well after my Iron X step. Alternately, during my clay step I coal off with MF towels section by section without washing. If you are polishing in a later step then there is not really a downside to IX with regards to it being a lubricant except it will expose you to the chemicals of Iron X for a lot longer.... Personally I prefer separate steps. If you do use IX as clay lubricant then definitely wear gloves.
@@SkyCarCare I think I agree with you. I will wash the vehicle with reset to remove the Iron X and use clay lube or possible the wash itself as lubrication.
Great question! That depends on the miles your putting on it... If it is garaged and weekend driven then no need more than 1-2x per year at most. If it is a daily driver with 200 miles a week then you could do it every few months and on the wheels even more often depending on how well you keep them clean and protected.
Any reason why nobody talks about IronX Snow foam? I haven't used it but it seems a like a really awesome product i feel like it saves time and can be used for lubrication for the clay bar at the same time. But i don't really see many people talking about it. Everyone just says IronX spray is best option, any reason? Is the snow foam just not as strong or ?
Wow, I missed this one! Sorry! Yes IronX is definitely more powerful than the snow soap but with regular use the IXSS can save time. IronX is definitely the more popular of the entire line of IronX products though. Personally I live washing with reset regularly and IX occasionally.
Great vid, I didn't know there is an LS version.. Also I have a question, recently I bought Carpro's Polyshave clay towel and i wonder is it safe to periodically use it on a coated car? Will it marr the coating wich will then loose or diminish it's hydrophobic properties? Also can I use it in conjunction with IronX or better yet Ironx paste (wich I have in my arsenal already) without destroying the clay towel? Thank you for your time to introduce me to Carpro lineup! Keep it up!!
Great question! No, you should not use clay or polyshave on a coated car or it will mess up the hydrophobics in most cases. Yes, you can use in conjunction with IX paste but we have found its better to just use a clay lube.
@@SkyCarCare Thank you guys for your great work and fast replies here, thanks to ppl like you there is less confusion in our overthinking minds :) Cheers SkyCarCare your doing Gods work! :)
Does IronX or TarX or Trix require to be washed off by Reset or MulitX before clay&polish&ceramic? To not interference with the polishes or bonding of the coating?
Hi Walenrod, Iron X does not need any Reset or Multi X to remove it completely from the surface. TarX and TriX however will leave a little something behind and should we washed off with Reset or as you wish.
@@walenrod17 It will come off during polishing but it will affect the polishing and also can be more aggressive to the paint to have extra solvents on the paint OR could cause extra lubrication to change properties of the polish. Technically you "could" do it... but maybe not "should". You are mixing chemicals in a way... so we couldn't say it is the safe route to go or the best practice.

It is safe for 99.9% of wheels on the market. Clear coated, polished aluminum, chrome, etc. We do not use the word "All" because we wouldn't use on Anodized and there may be some aftermarket cheap finish we are not aware of. All common wheels it is safe on.

Would Iron X Snow Soap would be effective enough if used straight directly on the clay towel as lubricant/iron remover?
Yes it would but it would be too slippery and too hard to wipe off. Better options imo.
