So I've been dreaming of having leo hair for a while and I finally have it so here's what I did. I've been trying to get a barber to do it right and they ALWAYS messed it up so with quarantine and not giving a shit if I messed it up... I cut my own hair. When you have enough hair to tie the top part up into a man bun (like 7-9inches the fringe should he able to touch your lip) tie it up, take some scissors and cut the sides and back to under an inch and as short as possible on the bottoms. Add a middle part and make sure your bangs are a little longer than everything else and that's basically the haircut. It's wierdly similar to a undercut bowl cut type thing but styled and middle parted which makes sense since it's a 90s haircut. If you don't want to cut your own hair. Just tye the top into a man bun like you would if you were to cut it yourself and tell them to cut the sides and the back. Only have then touch the top to make slight adjustment since length is important. That might help if you're barber isn't used to this haircut like mine is. If they say it will look kind of like a bowl cut tell them that's the point lol. I wish I had just cut it myself sooooo much sooner. He likes the sides and back grown out more but this look is so much easier to achieve when they're shorter. Also I've noticed that with the sides and back cut really short my hair is a lot easier to stylize and super low maintenance. Even with bed head and just combing with my fingers it it looks perfect in minutes. No products needed other than nice conditioner and never shampoo. For washing drying and styling. I use conditioner leave it in my hair for 5-7 minutes before washing out. Then light towel dry. Then I finger comb into a middle part, so that it has a more messy natural look and then let it air dry. The trick is to not fuss to much when it's wet because it will look better when you leave it alone. I don't use any hair products because I've noticed that it makes my hair look oily and feel gross. I would describe this haircut as something that's hard to look amazing in like a photo but just looks cool in it's varying stages of messiness throughout the day. Also growing the top out to 7-9 inch's will take 6-8 months depending on where you're starting from but you can get a similar look along the way as long as the top hair is longer and disconnected from the sides and back.
I grew my hair out to these exact measurements, got convinced to cut it short. REGRET IT SO MUCH. Growing it out again, currently in the "awkward stage".

I think it's more because of the hair products he uses, I don't know jackshit about any hair products that can improve my my hair's texture, but I assume that you can easily make wavy hair straight if you know which product you're supposed to use.
master shifu depends on what you want, if you don’t want to grow your hair out and are annoyed by your long sides but don’t want a fade either then try asking for a taper. The taper will make your face look tight on the sides which is a look you should be going for. If you do want to grow it out but the sides still annoying you then try brushing your sides back and keep it tight with some product
When you’re growing your hair out and can finally do this style but the last haircut you got your barber gave you a cringy side part with one side super short and every time you’ve grown it out a bit and asked a different one to even it they haven’t
