The following parts are what I used on my Toyota Tacoma for suspension only. I've done gears and so much more but were not here for that. Fox uses the best shafts for shocks hands down. The Rockwell hardness of their chromed shafts are even stronger than Icon's. This all gives you a longer lasting shock because as the shaft gets chipped that wears the seals causing leaks and ultimately shock failure. Great advice in the video. I noticed that Track Bar relocation was mentioned, but there was no mention of Drag Link relocation to match the Track Bar. This is a HUGE issue. If you move one, then you have to move the other in order for them to be parallel. They must be exactly parallel. If they are not parallel, then you will get a "bump steer" situation. That is where the steering wheel moves back & forth every time the vehicle goes up & down on any kind of bump. It gives the vehicle an unusual handling characteristic that is kind of unsettling & you will not enjoy driving it at all. I bought a 2.5" lift kit with a Track Bar relocation bracket. Driving it was horrible after that. I removed the bracket & put the Track Bar back to its original mounting position & problem gone - drove great after that. Many Lift Kits overlook this, and it is a huge design flaw & oversight by the companies that make lift kits that have you move one without moving the other. I think that when people talk about Lift Kit advice, this should be a big part of the conversation, as it has a very adverse impact on how the vehicle handles if not done correctly. The Drag Link & Track Bar MUST be perfectly parallel - as it is when it rolls out of the factory.
I have a 2020 TRD 4Runner off road and I went with the Bilstein 5100's which gives a 3in lift in front and I believe it was 2 in the rear with SPC upper control arms, old man u springs in the rear, best bang for the buck if you want a budget friendly build that looks and can handle most terrain. Also 285 70 17 on methods and I love it!! Living in Southern California I spend 80% on the road but love the lifted look of the 4runner. Great video and informative! Live in Florida and have a 4runner SR5. Daily drive. I have 6112 Bilstein front and 5100 rear. Fronts capped off with KYB and Bilstein upper control arms. 2 inches lift in the 1 inch rear with Eibach springs. Great setup on the road and limited off road travel so far. At present I have the stock wheels and tires and not pushing it yet. Haven't done wheels and tires due to so many choices and now limited budget. I am happy I strength the budget on the suspension. @@dennisfossey4312 no, with a 2 inch there was no need. I think most people with a 3 inch most people are doing a one inch drive train drop to lessen the angle. I think Dobinsons has a spacers kit. In addition 3 inch lift you have to do a sway bar drop too

Using vehicle everyday and offroad on weekends. Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Rubicon 2015. Lift 3.5 inches. The main goal to put 37 inches tires and make Jeep suspension is very reliable. Few times per year we go to the mountains for a couple days. There is no any service or welding or even electricity. So suspension must be very reliable to not to way some parts in the mountain:)

I have a 2020 Sahara JLU. Strictly daily driver and tows a 3200 lbs trailer in the summer. Your suggestion are welcomed. Timberens? Bilstein 5100? Firestone airbags? Not sure which direction. Leaning towards Timberens.
Bilstein 5100's might be the way to go, the airbags are nice but definitely will hurt the pockets. Plus if you are towing 3200 Ib's in the summer. Something more like those 5100's might be the more practical move!

What if you aren't interested in a lift? I have a 99 toyota 4runner that needs new shocks because they've never been changed, and the front left is lower than the right. I do plan on taking it on forest service roads, which can be smooth dirt to rocky terrain
For Jeep rig. Why Metalcloack or Rockrawler are not available in your website ? I ve bought 5 wheel and tires for my JL and i was dessapoint those brand wasnt available in your website. Because i live in french polynesia so the order have to go to a boat in LA and it been must easier if it was in one order. Either for the invoice (i have to give to the customs in my country for the taxes). That been said, do you think MK or RK or not a good lift kit (especially for jeep) ? I go off roading and do fireroads 2-3 times a year. Have the money but prefer the stock look. But I do want to get rid of the rake up front. So what do you recommend for my daily driver? Conrtol Arm Bracketds are a cheaper option instead of control arms. If you are an avid off-roader you will want to get adjustable control arms as they will provide a better/safer ride.
Adjustable control arms are better by far, stronger, more reliable and more adjustable for alignment shops. Also control arms offer for more down word travel.
Non-mechanical inclined persons question: I just bought a 2011 z4 with adaptive m chassis, but the front shock need to be replaced. Every site I put my vin # in says it takes regular shocks (but it has an adaptive selector and adaptive shocks in it). So If I'm not able to afford the OEM (which are adaptive) how much will putting regulars in front effect the ride. (I drive fast, but I'm not a curve person as I never go over rolling a car in curve)
Not one video that can show which suspension gives a comfortable ride on a sedan. I spend $2500 on suspensions and the car rides harder and louder. Maybe it just doesn’t exist.

I just had an icon stage 3 with tubular uppers installed by Demello Offroad. Super happy with the kit and Demellos work.
Installed the RC v2 Shocks on my wrangler. Love them. Pretty much a Fox copy. All aluminium

Did you need to change ball joints, and tie rod ends as well?

For a daily driver andweekend warrior I would suggest doing 4 link front and rear. You can still get good articulation to get to 37s

Probably wouldn't see too much of a difference but you will notice that it is a bit stiffer while taking turns a high-ish speeds!

You can buy spacers for as little ad 50 bucks but if you care about ride quality don't, do an adjustable fox shock
