The location of the video is the Torres del Paine, (in the south of Chile) and which is defined as the 8th wonder of the world in nature.
The song does not speak of a love, the conquered is the metaphor of freedom, democracy lost.
Los Jaivas composed it when they had to self-exile due to the Chilean dictatorship (70-90) when rock (all genres), other artistic expressions and above all lyrics alluding to this topic were prohibited, which is why this song is very significant.
Los Jaivas is a very old band for that reason they don't have many music videos. The live videos in good quality are contemporary without the deceased members. I recommend you react to the original studio versions (without video) first and then live presentations without the deceased members.

@@MikeMacabre that was an instrument prohibited in the chilean dictature. Represent the altiplanican music of the Andes and the respect for ours original people.

Regards Mike. The original 1975 soundtrack sounds very better. From the "Indian" (El Indio) álbum. Next reaction may be "Bosques virginales" of 1995's Hijos de la Tierra album.

La concquistada (the conquered) is a very beautiful and melancholic song by the jaivas, the small guitar like istrument is called charango, it is widespread throughout the Andean regions of Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, northern Chile and northwestern Argentina. usually have 5 pairs of strings.

Great song and review. But maybe, if there are more reactions to Los Jaivas in the future, you might consider reacting to the studio versions, or anything before 2000's. I say this with respect, but I don't think Mario Mutis voice is as good as Gato Alquinta's voice (the original vocalist).
