      don't he produce 2 buckets of deuterium from reactor rather than 1? after all on JEI it's for toroid size 1 and he have size 2. He is producing 2x power, so he should use 2x hydrogen and get 2x deuterium too

    *Rewinds video* He clicked one too many times when getting upgrades and casually picked up stack of Californium fuel.

    in 600t you use
    12 bucked of hydrond for the first reactor (hydron|hydron)
    6 bucked of hydron for the second reacotr (hydron|deturium)
    3 bucked of hydron for the last reacort (hydron|helio)

      At least in the last modpack I played (Enigmatica 2 Expert), AE2 does not tokenize the search input (unlike JEI, for example), so that search would result in a blank screen regardless of how many upgrades you had. Not sure if that was changed since.

    Wait, hydrogen cannot be fused with hydrogen to create deuterium. Each hydrogen has one proton and deuterium has one proton and one neutron. Fusing two hydrogen creates an isotope of helium that lacks neutrons. You would need a neutron source to make deuterium, but it would be much easier to just distill heavy water and electrolyze and centrifuge it to get the deuterium.

    • @TheToric
      @TheToric 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, nuculear physics is weired. Protons can become nutrons, nutrons can also become electrons with beta decay.

    • @NuclearCraftMod
      @NuclearCraftMod 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As TheToric
      says, the protons undergo reverse beta decay and transmute into a neutron. This is possible because the binding energy of the newly formed deuterium nucleus is larger than the energy associated with the proton-neutron mass difference. A di-proton can't be formed as the binding energy would be negative :)
      This process occurs in the sun, followed by the deuterium nucleus fusing with another proton to form helium-3, and finally two helium-3 nuclei fuse to produce helium-4 and two protons.

      It does work on stuff in the inventory, but 100 Rad/t is simply a ridiculous radiation level :P
      There is a hazmat suit that has higher protection than the equippable heavy shielding (IC2’s hazmat can also be used), but even that would really struggle to help.
