Dire I remember when you were having so much trouble generating power with nuclear and Fusion generators on another pack because you only made a single one... So this is nice to see you actually exploring it fully and making breeder and actual power generating generators.
On the subject of power creep, to be fair to Nuclearcraft, the dev does recognise that they made the fusion reactors too easy and they will be more complicated when revamped, but quest packs are really no better - almost every pack I've played buffs NC's reactors massively, so there's really not much that can be done. Enigmatica, for example, buffs fission six-fold and fusion nearly four-fold. Project ozone is even crazier. There is also the Molten Salt Reactor, which doesn't generate as much power as fusion, but is a challenge!
I just built my MSR system, and man, almost no payoff (beyond the challenge of doing it). It would have been cheaper faster AND easier to make a fusion reactor.
@@geevannman503 yeah I know. Big overhaul coming so I'm assuming some balancing will happen in that. Hopefully the MSR payoff will just be better. Now that I think of it, I'm just going to see if I can change the config for the dynamo output. I 100% deserve more power for what I built.
@@LayneZander Right now, MSRs actually generate a huge amount of energy per unit fuel, but the actual power generation is quite small as the size of the multi-blocks get very big, so typically people build rather small reactors. By making them smaller and easier to set up, that problem should go away :)

Hello, Dire. I found this series three days ago and let me tell you I am enjoying it more than anything and even ignored my friends' calls to go out to just sit and watch and learn from you. Even though the episodes are 30 minutes long I barely even notice when they started and ended for how much fun and knowledge I am getting from watching them. I am on episode 33 now and I do really enjoy that you are not only just doing the builds and technical stuff. you are teaching us how to do them properly making your videos fun to watch and to learn from which is a thing that is super rare. Now that Im caught up with the series I want to make a suggestion for you to pass on to the maker of thaumcraft. When you introduced the nuclear wasteland biome I immediately thought that it would be awesome to have a version of that for thaumcraft, filled with taint and have world gen ruins that suggest that ancient thaumaturge's experimented with creating infinite vis but it went terribly wrong.

@@timber777 If I understand correctly the biome would have naturally high levels of flux, and the flux would bleed into surrounding chunks as happens normally in the mod. The solution in my mind is to have the biome come with some pre existing rifts that could serve to gobble up the ambient flux. The result is a relatively stationary physical danger that would actually result in a lower than average flux quantity, and could even be an interesting place to set up a workshop maybe 3 chunks away so if terrible things happen it isn't right on top of you, but you get to exploit an essentially free flux trash can. Im envisioning like a looming tower that is gutted with a rift at it apex.

The reason I live the GraviSuite Vajra is because you can right click with it to silk touch a single block or just insta-mine anything, this means I can remove blocks carefully when near machines but go crazy when I need to destroy a lot of stuff
Neutron fluid and tritium form a closed loop, if you supply the other inputs (lithium/boron for neutron fluid -> tritium, some other fusion fuel like hydrogen, deuterium, etc. for tritium -> neutron fluid)
I like multiple ender quarries as a power drain, and I sometimes build my base from powered shield blocks; it’s a challenge to use them that way and they give me a “cool” reason for the power gen.
I still don't understand why Nuclearcraft does Hydrogen-Hydrogen, since if you look at the wiki page for 'Fusion Reactor', hydrogen by itself isn't a valid fuel. There is also Deuterium-Tritium too, which is like the defacto 'Fusion' combination alongside Deterium/Helium-3.
Yes yes yes. This is not efficient nor is it a good representation of a good setup. The reactors can be put together or stacked as well. And so much more power can be made it's insane. I believe this is the quicker version for video purposes. Totally understand that.

i wonder rftools uses a lot of power and everyone uses a diffrent mod to power the dimensions. so i was thinking is it possible to use rftools as a standalone mod or is it impossible to use it
kinda bugs me that the fusion reactors dont seem to cause radiation around them..cause an operational fusion on hydrogen/D-T/He3 would admit a lot of neutrons (arguably one of the worst kinds of radiation) . Then I would see the point of the higher level fusion fuels like Dire mentioned.. some combos I know of in the mod in real life are proposed "aneutronic fusion" aka no neutron release so little to no radiation while in operation. Maybe that'll be one of the things the mod author does in this revamp I hear people mentioning

The wiki for the ritual says "The Ritual Pedestal is a block added by Astral Sorcery. It is used to affect the area around it with the attuned Rock Crystal or Celestial Crystal. A list of constellations and their given effects is listed below." ALSO, the Horologium wiki says "This constellation increases the ticking speed of machines." its an aoe. I have seen other youtubers use this.

Best disable the tank overflow on that new fusion reactor in case it accidentally switches to just hydrogen or helium in both tanks.

Considering the number of flux points you're using, you might want to consider making a flux configurator at some point.
