    Not bad, you really should visit Alaska, and do some fishing. The one thing you missed is something I never thought about until a fisherman explained it to me. Out here they net fish. If you are wearing a luggy boot and standing on a rope or net when they throw it out, you're likely going with it. The net will grab the lugs and over ya go. The xtratuff has that thick side rib around the grip so nets and lines underfoot can slip free without grabbing a lug and dragging you overboard. The more you know 🌈 🌟

      Yeah, I just net fish for a hobby in Norway. So I am content with using some kind of worn out sneakers. They get soaked, but I am not using them for a full day. If I did this for a job I would probably go for something like the Xtratuf...

    I love my xtratufs, wear em all the time when I’m near water or boats. Plus it’s just nice to keep your feet dry if you’re working out in the rain all day.

    I'm a fisherman who lives on the coast, and these are a must when you are out on the water all day. With wave spray coming in the boat , and some decks that don't drain well, it is not uncommon to be standing in water part of the time. Nothing worse than a soggy pair of shoes that you are stuck in for hours. The xtratufs fit the bill for being totally waterproof and comfortable at the same time. You can also wash the blood and guts off with a hose, and they are ready to go the next day.

    I wear them when I’m working along the coast bc of rainy day flooding. I wear them in the winter when it’s slushy- great non slip on wet surfaces away from the water. I wear them as rainy day boots, I wear them on the beach in the winter. I have the sport version with more cushion and less weight. They do run very very small imo.

    Used Xtratuf working in a milk plant where leather boots wouldn’t rot off your feet in a month. I didn’t think my feet would survive in rubber boots but they actually work really well. They are very supportive and the lining allowed enough circulation out of the top to stay fresh. Many men wore this brand daily for their whole careers.

  • @Cory1029445

    Alaskans wear xtratuffs a bunch. I wore these for a few years. They are more flexible than most rubber boots. The gummy soles do better on ice than most.
    Wish there were non-chinese options for a boot like this.

    @user-rv4ob4tg9x 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +39

    Xtratuf boots are second to none. Spent much of the last 25 years in them. They are indispensable in the fishing industry.
    They do have one major problem… zero support. They work great for a flat surface but outside of that eventually you’re going to miss the fact they have no shank and the rubber flexes every which way with ease. I’d love for them to make a version with support for guys who need to work in them all day.

      @@1991tommygun I remember when they moved and the Chinese lines weren’t adjusted correctly and the boots were coming apart within a week. My local marine supply store had a massive pile of returns. They fixed it though. Still wish they were in the U.S. though. Their plant just couldn’t meet the new EPA guidelines so they sent the plant over there to pollute the hell out of China.

    i do office work for a plumbing and heating place and i see some of the guys wearing these. makes perfect sense. a comfy short boot that'll handle everything up to a flooded basement with a couple inches of water, and you can just rinse it off if it gets gross.
    and if you're dealing with more water than that... you'd probably want to break out the muck boots or the waders anyway, so something like these have you covered for everything that isn't catastrophic.

    One important aspect of Xtratuf's you missed, is the "Non Marking Sole". Most boats have a white decks, and a lot of normal shoes will leave black streaks all over the deck if you not careful. Xtratuf's amongst other similar boots shouldn't do that.

    After the muck boots video I started looking at a bunch of different rubber boots trying to find some that are made in a wide size. There are almost no options out there unless you get a tall boot. I did come across just one 6inch high pair though called Alpha Terra and they are made by a brand called Lacrosse. They claim they are sneaker like and are designed for an active fit. I haven't been able to justify getting them for myself though as they are 150$. I would be interested to see these go up against the other rubber boots.

    I tried this on in store only so can’t say much. But when trying them out I felt like the opening for the foot was to big. I felt the boot moved more compared to the Simmons or Grundens. Yeah you can go size smaller but them the toes are uncomfortable. Also I thought they where going to be more like the Extra Tuff 15 in Legacy when it came to the inside. The Legacy have a higher arch and this don’t. Which for me was a turn off.

    Junk. I'm not a fisherman but I used these just to walk the dogs and some hunting and they lasted less than a year before the rubber cracked. LL Bean boots are way, way better for my needs. Would love to see you cut open some full size rubber boots like GUMLEAF

    Tough to trust any opinion you give on the boot when the boot maker is the sponsor of the video lol. Made in China is all you need to know. Cheap boots with not much there but they want to charge over $100 for the product. LOL
