Please do not listen to this person's advice do not put metal in your port. I fix these for a living. And it's because people jam staplers and pins in their ports. The boards are easily broken that exists inside the type c port. Use a toothbrush for heavy Gunk firmer use a stabbing motion to work it out if need be put a little bit of rubbing alcohol on the toothbrush and overtime you will get even a jammed piece of cookie out. Repeat until clean... Then use compressed air if you don't have that do it ghetto and blow in it.

@@bonkybonk8547 Hey, Mine was doing the same thing. I cleaned it using an interdental brush (specifically Gum brand, green, for narrow teeth gaps) dipped in alcohol. I put alcohol in the dental brush cap and covered the bottom with my thumb to keep it from draining out. And dipped the brush in it. Then, I rubbed down the contacts on the inside of the port. I rubbed out a lot of black soot from the contacts. It took me a few brushes to get it clean. ?While letting it dry. I also replaced my cables with new ones (I went ahead and got a high speed cable 3.1A cable from Amazon). And, now it works perfectly. A way to check whether this might work for you is, if your cable snaps and is seated all the way down and no lint comes out when you scrap it, then the contacts might have oxidized over time. Just take care to not push the connector out of place. The recommended brush should help with this.
