- I am so glad I filmed this video last for the day because it completely RUINED my makeup!! I had no idea I would get so emotional watching this performance, but I really feel for the girls and want to support them even more after watching this. They are so strong and have made me so incredibly thankful to be a SONE! Let me know if there are any other videos you want me to react to in the future. Love you guys!

I saw that perfomance multiple times and each time I cried and yet I'm here crying again 😭😭
Since that day, they've only performed ITNW ballad version. But this month in the 15th anniversary fanmeeting, they finally performed the original version again, it makes me feel like I've found what was lost years ago :)
Tiffany deliver the high note beautifully painful 😭
I thought so too! All the high notes were spot on in this performance!
The fact that Taeyeon didn't shed tears till end ... yet the way she screaming the song, specially at the adlibs feels like wounded animal, we all know how we can feels emotion through her song, in here she like accumulated all she feels into the song, this is how she speak to us fans, to also maybe Sica.
Taeyeon did shed a tear. It just not that very visible because of her fair skin
Many criticized her for that, but she is also the leader, she surely felt the duty to be strong, apart from that she showed her emotions in the song... I mean
She suffered a lot that year, what happened with Jessica, they blamed her, that same year what happened with Baekhyun and her relationship with him

I'm 62 years old, and I consider this the greatest performance in the history of pop-music, ever.
Jessica was dismissed from SNSD in September of 2014, the Tokyo Dome concert was in December. 2014.
Tokyo Dome was/is the premier Japanese concert venue, and the biggest venue in SNSD's history, in which they would be performing for the first time.
Given these two factors, I assume this particular arrangement of ITNW was prepared BEFORE Jessica departed. SM and SNSD had already established a pattern of presenting special versions of one or two of their songs for concert tours, so I guess this new arrangement was in keeping with that. Preparation for tours has to begin months in advance also as there is so much to coordinate... so again, I think this arrangement was probably finalized before Jessica left.
SNSD had performed live quite a number of times while missing a member ( or even two) and they've been able to cover the missing members' parts successfully, but I think this is the first time they had a missing member during a full concert tour.
So...this arrangement and staging had to be rehearsed involving sound checks, lighting, staging etc., And they the girls had to perform for about 1-1/2 hours BEFORE getting to this particular and very significant point...and then had another hour of performance after it.
Despite Sunny's 'breakdown' (😭) they all held it together and sang their parts beautifully and perfectly, but Taeyeon and Tiffany, with their absolutely critical parts, were absolutely extraordinary.
I've watched this so many times, and I always tear up, and I'm always in awe. I've never seen any performance like this, and I'm sure I never will.

I still remember when I watched this concert a few weeks after it held. It was super emotional concert I've ever watched, and I could feel how they felt, after losing one member. But this is the best concert the girls ever had. I'm so proud to be one of their SONE. Warm regards from Indonesia

YES! That part got me!!
Yep. This one hits hard. Sunny always bright and cheerful but when it comes to their song about their journey together and fans she's always emotional. But this one she really broke down. It hits her hard because she was one of the closest to Jessica, they were paired together in the MV and this was the first time performing it without her.

The song itself is really meaningful but after you go through something sad it becomes more meaningful. This is their debut song, they debut as 9. They trained so hard to debut together. In 2014 after Jessica’s departure they never sing the original version,Till 2022 Special Event - Long Lasting love,This is like a try not to cry challenge for us and we never win
So much people say Taeyeon didn't cry at Tokyo Dome performance, but she did, she just didn't show it much or camera didn't catch it but like you said she pour her everything to her voice specially towards ends, and you can hear it it, very clearly, the emotion on it, and that just how she communication or tell fans how her feel 💗
8 years later and it still hits like a brink. No matter how many times I've watched this Sunny.... SUNNNY always get me. Here I am bawling and gasping for air. This will never not tug at my heart.
Taeyeon always be the strongest among them all, because she has to, as their leader. We don't know what is inside her heart and how hard she holds it.
Btw, you might cry as well if you watch the "Divine" performance in that concert too, lol.

Thank you for sharing your reaction with all of us. Still to this day cannot watch this performance without tearing up, but it is a different mix of emotions now. SNSD is the group that introduced me to kpop 12 years ago, and being the same age as the girls I grew up alongside them, celebrating their accomplishments and enduring their hardships. But in all that time there was never as much uncertainty for the future of the group as when Jessica was forced out.
Now that they've had their 15th anniversary comeback and proven to everyone how strong the Soshi bond is, I have a new appreciation for this performance. Because it isn't only about sadness and old memories, but moving forward together, 'Into the New World.'

they are growing on me already, after researching about this situation, about Jessica being expelled from the group i cannot but start crying, I felt their pain, everyone is human, they cry and they move on, but this HURTS, not even a SONE but this still hurts

the beautiful gesture of leaving an empty space at the beginning of the song and in the middle of the song, they come together, continuing the 8 in this new into the new world. no matter what happens, i know that behind everything, there is still friendship between the 9. i've been sone since 2008 and jessica's departure hurt a lot. I recommend the fanmeeting just the day after Jessica's announcement of departure. the whole audience screaming JESSICA JESSICA JESSICA...And Seohyun ended up crying a lot. .it was very hard for them😥💖

I have always love their debut song Into the New World for the melody, the dance, but most especially the lyrics and its message, the song is just perfect and powerful but in this performance it's simply profound. in this performance it was given a new meaning. them singing the chorus in this context (Jessica's departure) it's like they're saying without her it's going to be completely different, a whole new world and that's why I find it so sad. But i love watching this performance just because they just killed in this one, anybody else would have been a mess given the emotional state they are in😍😆

That's when I see u reacting SNSD, I see myself. I have watched a lot videos of people reacting this perform and they can't feel it as a SONE does it, I mean, they say "a sad and deep performance" but the difference of being a SONE or not, it's that when u feel it and start crying and YES! Yeah it's like this when you get to know SNSD well especially when you're a long time fan like me I cried rivers the time Jessica's departure from the group was announced and then this concert and this performance wrecked me and I couldn't say a word for at least a week , when Jessica left SM and the group at first i thought it's not true and maybe it's rumors and even when it was announced officially i refused accepting the truth i keep on crying & denying for almost 2 months but what happened happened and I am proud of Girls Generation they continued their journey and they proved themselves

One of my all-time performances favorite this one brings a tear to everybody's eye no matter how strong you can be but you'll still cry to this freaking video especially if you understand the context of why they're crying on stage

And putting some context before watching that. This concert was held after 1 year doing promotion in japan. So, some korean sone really miss them.
I don't know if you feel like crying again or not, but you should definitely look into reacting to the SNSD Hilarious Prank and Scandalous video that was fan-made for their 10th year anniversary! It's a good one to cry to and one of my absolute favorite videos to watch. It shows just how legendary SNSD is!
