"the waiting has ended. Lend your ears to a legend" ... and they are! I've been an fan since 1996 , saw them 3 times live ... best shows of my life! Too bad most fans don't understand the lyrics ... they are really deep and poetic, also quite "naughty" but that's Rammstein for you! I love them!!!
Rammstein is legendary..they are more than just another rock band...Till Lindemann isn't just another singer. He is an artist..a poet..a lyrical genius .. Christian "Flake" Lorenz (keyboardist) said.“Till radiates complete authority in my eyes" “When he sings or says something, you realize that he also means it. That makes the whole song a lot more precious. Especially since there are singers who say or sing just about anything because it sounds good. With Till, you know that he means it.”
and he is also a former Olympic swimmer, and a current licensed pyrotechnician- he is a man of many talents.

@@peekaboosue oh hi again, long time. well... he and Richard are also scarred inside. So no. But I really do like those six Germans; they are so very human, and so very talented. I know Till likes to fish and the quiet of nature. I lived three years in Greenland till this summer and so wish for his soul that I could show him that very special place.
@@PalleRasmussen yeah true I'd forgotten reading about what Richard went through but I don't remember reading about what Paul went through? Also I read about Till enjoys fishing and being surrounded only by the sounds of nature and sleeping under the stars 🥰
@@peekaboosue both Till and Richard has had a troubled childhood with somewhat dysfunctional families. I believe they are the only ones in the band with such scars.
That was the concert opener, the first appearance after about 9 years abstinence from the USA. Since no producer in the US wanted tu take the risk, small minds!, the band took the entire financial risk on their own, everything for the art! So MSG was sold out in 20 minutes. Paul and Richard, the guitarists, mostly play the same riff, but paul an octave lower than Richard. They prefer different guitar manufacturers and different types of amps to make the sound fuller, more powerful. Flake, the Keyboarder, needs several keyboards, synthesizers because these old, no longer manufactured but loved instruments have relatively small storage capacities for his sounds, choirs, etc.. Till, the singer, is always in the role that the respective song requires. He often writes from the first person point of view and is excellent at expressing emotions, with his voice, facial expressions, his whole body. The poetry, irony, ambiguity and puns in the lyrics unfortunately escape people who don't understand German well. Look at "Ich tu Dir weh" live at MSG and "Mein Herz brennt" Piano-Version, official video. Greetings from Germany!
I think now you pronounce this right :) If you want more form the MSG try "Ich Tu Dir Weh". And yes their music is not complex but they are masters of building great things from basic elements. Another layer of their music is the lyrics it is always good to have subtitles but unfortunately clips from MSG don't have them. For future reactions you can check channel educatedmarine. It is a gold mine of Rammstein's music with subtitles.

I think "Ich tu dir weh"(also MSG) shows off Till's vocal range pretty well and it's also a great song.
One thing to factor in is that all of the members of the band grew up under the East German satellite government of the USSR and the Stasi, and were influenced by that environment. Radio is a biographical song about Till listening to Western broadcasts on an illegal radio when he was a kid, and the track Skills in Pills from his side project Lindemann was about how people got creative in the use of prescription meds for recreational use because of how aggressively they cracked down on black market narcotics.
He's using 2 different boards for different sounds basically like a DJ. Saw them last weekend in San Antonio Tx fukn awesome awesome show they put they are better than any other shows they are the top of the world right now
Yes, you're right, the cable for the light in the mouth is led through the mouth from the front. But for the official video for the song "Ich tu dir weh" (please react to the live performance) Till pricked his cheek to lead the cable through there. Unfortunately, the spot got infected, so he had to let it grow shut.
He now has a piercing inside his cheek to clip the light to so it doesn't interfere w his singing. As you will come to learn...singer Till Lindemann is a classic badass, slightly crazy and admittedly masochistic.

Just a small rant..most people always and only ask for reactions to performances at MSG or Paris (which don't get me wrong are both awesome performances) However I believe that a lot of people seem to think that Rammstein has only ever performed in either MSG or Paris.
And most only request the most popular, most viewed, most liked etc. Which is all good np there....But I personally like to suggest earlier songs and performances along with their newer stuff 😍

I grew up in Minnesota, love my 60s/70s....been living in Germany for 16 years now,listen to some German music these days too!
Probably one of thier most straightforward songs, but a rocking crowd participation piece. If you want to feel the pain of a disturbed soul try Puppe.

The way you describe yourself as a musician, is basically the same way Richard Kruspe (lead guitar), describes them as a band.
And yes, Till is a troubled soul. So is Richard. Paul is a goofball always smiling, Flake is very quiet and thoughtful (as is Till), and Schneider is a gentleman. Ollie... Ollie is a qiuet one.
If you like the pain. You want to check out Mein Herz Brennt, Mutter and Wiener Blut. Also the new Zeit, Till can scream with the best.

When you do more of Rammstein’s songs you find yourself vibe-ing to the song and headbaning and enjoying , and then someone will tell you the meaning and you’ll have nightmares or recoil in disgust. 😂😂😂😂

Yes, Till has incredible voice range, and he sometimes switches from typical chanting to real melodic singing, which is always very satisfying.
Your plan to go with Madison Square Garden is very good - and definitely next song should be "Ich Tu Dir Weh" 😃
And definitely you should go with a classic "Engel" from Madison Square Garden.
But there is one song, that isn't that popular, but really worth seeing - it's Waidmanns Heil. It is very far from what some said "a single riff through the whole song". It is not available on Rammstein Official channel, but search for "Waidmanns Heil (Live in Amerika)". It has English subtitles, too 🙂
Another suggestion is also one of the less popular songs - "Seemann". There are many recordings, but one that is most heart touching is from 1996. You need to see this, you will see true passion and hear Till singing so nice... Also it is nice to see young Rammstein, still developing.
You'll find this as "Seemann(live Lichtspielhaus)". There is also a better, upscaled version: "Rammstein Seemann 4K 60fps 100 jahre Arena Berlin 1996 HD HQ".

Great band,great song,great reaction! I'd like to make a helpful suggestion however,use cc in English to get a better understanding of the content! Also I'd like to suggest the song Deutschland...its about the history of Germany...pride and embarrassment of it!
The light was originally for the Ich Tu Dir Weh Musik Video and at that time he actually had his cheek pierced because he didn't want any wires showing but he had to remove it cause it kept getting infected
The wire effekt used to be a bit more awesome. Originally they cut a hole in his cheek and ran the wire through that, story goes that Lindemann found it amusing to squirt whatever he was drinking at ppl through the hole. He had to let it heal closed cause it kept getting infected

It isn’t a ‘headbanger’, but if you feel like listening to Till’s vocals at their best, and illustrative of the ‘trouble soul’ that you mentioned, do have a look at the PIANO version of ‘Mein Herz Brennt’: the official version (not the live one) because there you will see a lyricist really selling his song. It’s amazing! For a shift from deep vocals to the higher register, plus a headbanging riff, then the Madison Square Gardens ‘Ich Tu Dir Weh’ is definitely for you.
Rammstein without understanding the lyrics makes no sense...they are deeply rootet in German language, history and poetry from 17th century to nowadays.....

Excerpts from the Madison SG concert are great, but their video clips are just as good, if not better, and more varied, as Rammstein plays with various film conventions and references to culture. And their latest video clips are IMO little pieces of visual art.
Besides, as one of the pre-speakers wrote, the text layer is also interesting and non-trivial - on TH-cam there are versions with English subtitles and sometimes youtube text is available in several language versions, the language is selected after clicking on the cogwheel icon.

Great reaction. I would suggest your next rammstein reaction to be Mein hertz Brent official video of the piano version first. I say first because there are two versions of this song both amazing but you should hear piano version first ! Also Angst which is unique!!!
Rammstein are pretty unique in being a German language band that really broke onto the global scene in a big way. But I think if you were listening to a lot of Industrial, Goth etc. like I was when I first discovered them (yonks ago... I feel old xD) then it was less remarkable. A lot of German and Northern European stuff there : )
