That's his team right there, man. The people he trains and prepares with until the bout comes. Every effort is a direct result of him AND his team, that's why they don't want him to give up that easily
when you coach and train with someone every day for years its a team effort, part of what you choose a team for is for accountability when your feeling like you cant go anymore in practice or in fights

Went to school with him, and Max is honestly one of the nicest and most down to earth guys out there. I will always support this guy if he wins or loses because that's what he did for us on the wrestling team.
Just so you know this guy is still fighting and doing pretty well, won his last two fights and got paid. Props for looking out for his health and avoiding serious injury when he knew he was beat.

From what I remember, Max took this fight on less than one weeks notice. This was his UFC debut as well so he was basically a last minute fill in and likely wasn’t physically or mentally prepared enough for this level of competition. He gassed out after the first and got beat down in the second round. Dana White actually defended him in the press conference after the event. Basically saying when a fighters done, they are done. No point in getting further damaged to just appear tough. Max has come out after the fact that he was very depressed after this and stopped training for a while, deleted his social media and didn’t leave his home. He realized he needed to work on himself mentally and that he was fighting for all the wrong reasons. Now he has started training again and I think has a fight coming up in a smaller promotion.

There is a ref that will stop the fight within seconds of him taking serious damage. He just lacks the belief in himself and clearly hasn’t trained hard enough. Definitely no glory in quitting.

Wow! When a fighter spends an entire camp promising himself, for hard times sake, for all the times I felt alone, for all the suffering I had to live through. Then, the challenge is so great, even your corner can't get you to continue, and you quit. Ross Edgley swam around Great Britain. He said that you can try and plan and calculate the tides and stuff, but when the storm comes you realise that the Ocean just doesn't care. I am reminded of the saying, you don't say I conquered a mountain, you were barely allowed to stand on it. Reality is cruel. You live to fight another day.

Idk specifics of this dudes fight, if he's injured or has too much pain sure understandable ive been there, ive tapped out many times, cracked ribs, partially torn ligiments etc. But idk man, dudes not a fighter if he just gives up cause he feels outclassed. This is why it's so important to have a good trainer who knows anything and everything about his fighter. It's a fine line between knowing when he just needs the pep talk or if he is truly done, be it from a physical reason or mental. If the fighter is done and out of it mentally, it can be dangerous to send them out for another round.

He realized he needed to work on himself mentally and that he was fighting for all the wrong reasons. Now he has started training again and I think has a fight coming up in a smaller promotion.

Wow! When a fighter spends an entire camp promising himself, for hard times sake, for all the times I felt alone, for all the suffering I had to live through. Then, the challenge is so great, even your corner can't get you to continue, and you quit. Ross Edgley swam around Great Britain. He said that you can try and plan and calculate the tides and stuff, but when the storm comes you realise that the Ocean just doesn't care. I am reminded of the saying, you don't say I conquered a mountain, you were barely allowed to stand on it. Reality is cruel. You live to fight another day.

This is why it's so important to have a good trainer who knows anything and everything about his fighter. It's a fine line between knowing when he just needs the pep talk or if he is truly done, be it from a physical reason or mental. If the fighter is done and out of it mentally, it can be dangerous to send them out for another round.
