Mate, your videos are so well done. I truly enjoy them and some i have watched more than 2 times. The Main Event at WM 6 worked so well because it wasn't done before. That's why it was hyped to be title vs title. The rule that a wrestler in WWF at that time, not being able to hold 2 singles titles is because there were only 3 main titles. World, tag and IC. None the less, WM6 Hogan vs Warrior was the best match that both men had ever have. Warrior took instructions well that night and that's why it stands today as a classic.

Hey hold up a second BROTHER! Hulk didn’t ruin WM9! All the Hulkster did that night at WM9, was come save Bret from Yokozuna, finish the job Bret couldn’t, and took the belt back. Leaving thousands of Hulkamaniacs screaming and going home happy that night. You’d think Bret would be grateful. But no! Instead, years later… The Hulkster goes out, gives it his best effort, puts on the squash match of the century beating sting, clean in the middle of the ring 1, 2, 3 at Starcade 97. Then at 2:06:13, in slides Good ole “it’s still real to me” Bret Hart to get his “revenge” against Hogan for WM 9, and help Sting cheat Hulk out of his title. Bret’s one sick individual
This is why I ❤️ your channel, you really went in depth in hulk's career. Also I agree hogan's '93 to '94 WWF run was absolutely confusing. Also Hogan's match with warrior at Halloween Havoc 🎃 was atrocious. That's just my opinion.

sadly kevin nash was allowed to do similar things in wcw i don't know if that was always the case with him like hogan but winning to golberg is a example of his power in the company
Hulk had this power due to his value to the sport. I hate it and Ultimate Warrior was my hero and the WCW job to Hulk pissed me off beyond belief but Hogan was just protecting his career and I can't hate him for that.
@@robjackson4050 that is true and crazy to me bc Nash did not have the same draw as Hogan. I mean not even close. I'm a 100% NWO mark so not hate to Nash but dang that was BS
At that time, Hogan was still young enough in the business to support a long program up to WrestleMania VI. But, Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior carry the main event at WrestleMania VI beautifully just because they each had magnetic charisma.
It was funny how critics and media spoke so much about steroids around the trial days, yet not one of them knew steroids were legal to use up until 1990-1991. They went after wrestling, yet somehow overlooked bodybuilders...that was a very big oversight they missed somehow.
I have to admit that I loved it when Hulk turned face. I was really happy and excited but it'd reached a point of no return by then because WCW had become paralyzed, being incapable of coming up with any worthy ideas to develop into a new story, sort of like what happened in '91 for WWF.
In 1991 I started beying SilverVision/Coliseum Video supercards. Luckily, since there was no internet or great sources to speak of, so most of the shows' outcomes were still mostly a mystery. Hell, even the Summerslam Warrior match was half-a-mystery. An awesome time in my early youth.
If they could book it all over again, having Warrior defeat Sgt. Slaughter at Royal Rumble ‘91 would have been the preferred finish. WWF President, Jack Tunney, could have declared that the winner of the 1991 Royal Rumble would be given a title shot at that year’s Wrestlemania. Hogan wins the Royal Rumble ( as he did anyway ) setting up a Warrior vs Hogan rematch at WM7. This change would have meant that the larger venue for WM8 could have gone ahead as originally planned. Then Hogan could have regained the championship at WM8 in a Hogan redemption storyline. This would have given either a feel-good story that Hogan fell but got back up and overcame….or, Hogan had to resort to underhanded tactics and turned heel to win the title ( perhaps with help from Savage and Sherri ). Either is better than what we got, IMO.
Hogan vs warrior the ultimate example of two big strong wrestlers with little or no in ring talent but both extremely entertaining highly marketable performers it was ahead of its time due to fact both was hugely popular. The main difference between warrior and hogan was promos.
People could hate Hulkster but he had some great WrestleMania main events and honestly is better in his one pinkie than the majority of the current roster of the WWE for the last decade and this includes AEW with its midget stickmen playing wrestling.

I think the Wrestlemania 9 debacle actually elevated Brett Hart's legacy amongst wrestling fans beyond what it would be if he had been selected to defeat Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 9. It made for a landmark match in wrestling history, but without the drama between Hulk and Brett, it would just be a footnote. Which really speaks to the power of Hulkamania.
You kinda needed the Hulkster embracing Ultimate Warrior at the end. It was icing on the cake and it symbolized that Hogan gave Warrior his seal of approval as champion. As far as Hogan not laying on his back more in the 90s, that might have more to do with the old school mentality that older wrestlers had. For example, how many times can you recall Piper losing clean? I can recall one time to Bret Hart at Wrestlemania. That's no knock on Hogan or Piper, but just the general frame of mind older wrestlers had about protecting their spot because wins and loses mattered unlike now where 50/50 booking is widespread. I kinda like wins and loses mattering tbh because it was so much more of a big deal when someone like Hogan lost. You don't really get that now, but that may have more to do with how overexposed wrestlers are nowadays with monthly PPVs and weekly shows that consist of 2-3 hours.
A good contrast I remember is 80s Hogan doing a spot after he lost the Championship. Basically breaking down about how he let down the Hulkamaniacs and such. Because it mattered in storyline to the characters. As opposed to say, John Cena around 2015 where I remember him doing a spot and basically shrugging off his title loss and said: "Titles come and titles go". It is a big change to be sure. But the times that things are different really stand out. Like Goldberg's winning streak. The Undertaker's WrestleMania win streak. Or heck even in the WWE when Rusev held the US title for like 9 months, defending it clean in matches as a dominant heel and giving some prestige to the belt, dragging it up from "The guy John Cena and Randy Orton beat to claim WWE Championship First Contender status".
2:27:08 I always laugh when I see Lex hit the double axe handle cause he looks like he can never stop himself from sliding around. Or he's so excited he can't control his feet.
The Hogan vs Warrior at 98 Halloween Havoc along with DDP vs Goldberg match that night was the only WCW PPV I ever got. Yes it was not the best PPV, but I enjoyed both matches.
I bet one for comedy and the other one for legit action.. DDP vs Bill Goldberg was so good I will watch that match again and again.. Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior was so hilarious 😆 I loved it for what it was and I will rewatch it after I'm done with this video..
One thing that was left out of the WM7 match between Slaughter and Hogan was Slaughter throwing fire in the face of Hogan in the locker room while Mean Gean was talking with Hogan
The 18 months from Bash at the Beach to the opening of Starcade 97 was the greatest wrestling timeline in history. Sadly, By the end of Starcade 97 it was all over.
And to anyone that says that the Goldberg match was the beginning of the end, I’m sorry. I lived it. Starcade 97 was the end. That botch was the moment I stopped watching. Nothing after that was ever going to make sense. I gave them a chance the next night but the fact that they tried to sell the fast count was just ridiculous and I gave it up. Had the WCW side said “yeah we cheated Hogan, who cares?” Then it would’ve been a better and maybe salvageable. But instead they tried to gaslight the fans into believing nonsense and it killed the story.

This is a treasure.
