- Lagos Rail Mass Transit: Marina-Mile-2 blue line ready.
Lagos State Governor, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, has commissioned the completed infrastructure for the first phase of Lagos Rail Mass Transit, LMRT, Blue Line operations to transit between Marina-Mile-2, axis of the state, as part of measures to decongest road traffic.
The project is being handled by the management of Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA.
The completion of the infrastructure is in fulfilment of the promise made by Sanwo-Olu of completing the project in the last quarter of 2022, ahead of the commencement of passenger operations slated for the first quarter of 2023.
The Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line is one of the six rail lines and monorail prescribed for Lagos in the state’s Strategic Transport Master Plan (STMP).

This is very commendable though expected long ago considering the strategic position of Lagos. I just pray that maintenance of the fleet will be taken seriously. Congratulations! Oil producing states with humongous revenue should invest in this.

Lagos has an efficient civil service administration and has been running its infrastructures very well since the return to Democracy in 1999.

@@Danorous ambode was governor for 4 years the exact same time sanwo-olu has been governor, so what is your excuse for not continuing the railway network that Lagos State needs badly?
Ambode did some great work in Epe and some other infrastructure around the state.
Unfortunately, Epe is a distance island from other major location in the state.
Most urban planners will tell you that development spread from central , otherwise a distance satellites town run the risk of becoming a ghost town .
Epe is over 70 km from VI, there is no other place in Lagos, with much distance between the next major economic Area.
As for support for Tinubu, I don't hide it .
Ambode is part of APC but we should be bold to admit to ourselves when we are wrong.
Government is continum. Ambode continued and finsned uncompleted projects of Fashola Oshodi is an example. So Sanwolu too has to continue uncompleted projects of Ambode e.g LEKKI-EPE EXP WAY roads started during the regime of Ambode. Also Ambode did not contest with Sanwoolu 2015. Always get your facts right.

I've come to understand the level of ignorance among nigerians is pretty high. The FG does not stop any state, and private individuals from building anything. Obama port is already being developed by ajwa ibom state, kano and kaduna are making plans to build their own metro and indeed Rivers State had already started it's metro until gov wike abandoned it, being amaechi project. Calabar has a mono rail developed by cross river state government. I agree that lagos had a head start in all these being former capital, but the laws have since allowed every state to initiate heavy infrastructure projects. If lagos is building it's own projects but your governor is not only sleeping but snoring who do you blame?
This 's an acceptable intra state global look alike transportation system ; for it's a democratic leeway signal for Nigerian states in need.Lagos should urgently extend same to food production next .

Remember we have 36 states in Nigeria
All states have to put in the work, this is tax payer money 🤑 plus there is a great need in Lagos due to traffic. Hence, other states might not have such a great need yet and are not making that much money.
I am sure that with the development of Lagos other states will benefit soon.
Example, if a train 🚆 run to Abuja from Lagos, then Abuja will grow more quickly and so on.
It's all about the amount of money Lagos brings in for development.

No one is concentrating development in Lagos, Lagos is developing herself with the IGR, do you how much Lagos generates annually? Lagos is like any other state to the Federal government, FCT is the only special state.
Pls advise Govs in other state to find ways to raise their IGR'S so they can have enough funds to develop their states instead of waiting on federal hands out.
