I bought a second hand Deus1 and I have never looked back :) it was great value and I still use it every weekend ( had to eventually replace the batteries though!) - thanks for another great video Gazza!
was gonna let go of my Deus 1 after getting the D2 but it took me a step back when i saw how low the prices people are selling them 3 coils for under 500 bucks i told myself Nah, my D1 will be a keeper coz when everything else failed in my arsenal of detectors my D1 is proven winners. Deus 1 will always be a part of my detecting machines, a backup of a backup - a loaner for someone new who would like to get into metal detecting. many say it's hard to learn the Deus, I would say it is not! beginner ofter wander off to technology, Deus 1 can easily be use by using program#1 and start finding stuffs. you can always use it as a Beep and Dig machine. Dig everything when you are learning the hobby and your machine quit tinkering the advance settings it will prolong the process of learning and often time frustration will follow ending up beating the detector to a tree. thank you Gary Blackwell!
The deus one and two compliment each other especially with the hf speciality coils on the deus one ,with both machines you have all detecting applications covered 😮😮😊😊😊
Nicely put mate, and (fortunately) this is what I have... 🙏 Would you say, bring the D1/9"/HF for stuff like 'technical ploughed + stubble?...' and D2 for smoother/rolled ploughed and pasture?... 🙏 Cheers, Bobby 🐭
Have the same set up. My problem on the south shore of Lake Erie is aluminum. Its everywhere of all types. Usually around 95 or so. Hard to ignore & have some unusual shapes of "blobs". The Deus 1 with the HF coil is a good all around detector for all around use especially with your Skill School training. Thank you Gary. Cheers
thanks Gary nice video , lovelly finds !!!! since I Bought the Deus 1 from my friend my colection go up have a lots of finds!!! thanks again for yours tips !!!
Hey Gary - would you go over one more time which metals are high conductive and which metals are low conductive? I still have problems understanding that. TY.
Hi Gary, Is it possible to share your program setings please? Im tried a lot of settings but i think im loosing coins like these little roman coins. Thanks
Bacon n eggs cooking 😂 how do you come up with these analogies. It was a good day, mate. Love the silaqua. The Deus 1 combo on this field leads the way thatbwe know. Probably the noisiest small iron contaminated field I've searched. Dam roman shoes and hob nails. 😊
Great video . Is it beneficial to have the the HF 9 inch DD to go with my HF elliptical coil . I like the Elliptical but not so much a fan of the X35 . Thanks .
Loved the Deus 1 excellent machine 👍but Deus 2 is totally different 😮more of a beast that needs taming!! But what a machine amongst the iron!! CAN IT GET ANY BETTER? Thanks for sharing 👍
@@SuperPaulR Hi Paul, just having a look for ya... I got this from Alex (Holzhammer Sagas) a while ago. The main Tweaks are with the usual Sensitivity and Reactivity - but I'll give you all the main stuff, as follows: Disc: -6.4/Full Tones, Sens: 95-99 (Depending on how Noisy). Fq: 17Khz?, Iron: 0, React: 2 (or 1 with a slow swing), Audio Resp: 4 (or higher if listening for DEEP), Notch 00-00. Hope that helps anyways, and love to know how you get on... Ttfn, Bobby 🐭
@@SuperPaulR Pleasure matey... I shud add: That was the deepest setting I cud ever get for Pasture... I've you're on ploughed (or iron-infested pasture), you might wanna have a friendlier Reactivity?.. (2.5, 3 or higher?)... Anyways, best o' luck - B :).
Gary, my best depth ever on a Deus was Deus 1, 3.2 software, 11” coil. I still can’t believe I was hitting 58 caliber civil war bullets, around 17”, measured with a pinpointer. So far with Deus 2, not even close on depth, and EMI I’m really struggling. Even single frequencies on D2 won’t operate as quiet as my Deus one, in the same areas. Maybe I can try to match the ones that were so good on D1, to the D2 with offsets? Thanks
Thanks Gary. You have used most detectors out there. Of all new machines that I hunted relics with, the CTX 3030 would knock out EMI in my most offensive area better than any modern machine, hands down. At times I could run full sensitivity in a place next to a railroad crossing, underground power lines, and overhead lines 100 yards or less away. Smooth as silk. When I fist got the D2, I gave up on multi frequency, you even replied that I may need to use singles, I did, most depth 12-13” on Minnie balls. I’ve hunted this place so hard, unless you can knock out EMI, punch down to 14”, you can’t get a signal anymore. I get out so infrequently, it really should not matter, but when I do, it would be nice to hunt with the pedal to the metal. With updates, frequency selection, etc, maybe I can find a band that is stable. Will try before it gets too hot if I can. Ticks, chiggers, snakes keep me out of the woods, not die hard at 63 years old like I used to be. Now, in the cold, I can hang, lol
@@The-skillschool if you write it or even make simple videos, that small part of the population that wants to know the deus in depth would be grateful to you.
Not about to get a new coil for the Deus 1 for now at least. What kind of settings would you recommend for use with the standard 11" X35 coil? I have been using the hot program as it is. Sadly no Roman coins here, but plenty of old Swedish and Russian coins. Your videos have been a great help, thanks
I use the hot program on totlots where I want to dig everything, or places with little trash so I don't want to discriminate I like using the fast program in trash or if I want to discriminate up high I've copied a couple programs from TH-cam like ultimate and reaper, but I don't really use them much I recommend the elliptical coil for totlots, and I want to get the HF round for field hunting, but I don't have it yet, so I use the elliptical, I havnt used my x35 9" since I got the elliptical, I use the elliptical in 74khz in tot lots and I use 15 or 30 in the grass and trash
Greetings from Turkey. I would like to ask you a question. I am undecided between the 24x13 XP HF Elliptical Coil and the XP 9'' HF Coil for my XP Deus 1 device. Which do you think would be the most effective?
Garret AT pro no nonsense programming no running out of charge if it does you just swap batteries and your not stuck does what it says on the Tin even a garret 150 cheap as chips could find them .besides you could spend thousands on a machine but you would still have to walk over the good target . Garret stuff all the way Bro .
Still love my Deus 1 !! An Amazing machine for 12 years and still going strong.
That's true it has been evolving for a long time.

Personal choice really, I dare say the D2 with the Tekkna program would have performed just as well.
Pelo preço do Deus 2, não era pra ser assim.
thanks again, Gary. I'm absorbing you videos for my next UK visit. Best, Steve
Thanks Steve 🤝👍
Great session Gary, nice to see you out with the XP Dyson 1, hoovering up all those little romans 😊
It's great sport neil
Have deus one and two as well as manticore, my go to ....deus one just love the thing.
Good to hear Paul

Field still producing. Great video. Can't wait to get out there.
Cheers Dave 👍🤝
Single frequency still can get it done. UHF coil is it compared to Deus 2 at 40K or am I way off? Congrats on a the roman coins. Thanks for sharing.
Good question, it's hard to say as they are totally different machines.
The D2 does locate tiny targets.
i have the same detecting style as you, and my deus is doing very well with both your hot2 or sonar program on similar roman sites
I think once you have your preferred settings, just stick with them.
Great feedback thanks.
Great stuff Gary used my deus 1 other day found me plenty even here in Cornwall
Cheers Bobby 🤝👍
I have the Deus I and II.
I LOVE MY DEUS I with the HF Round and Elliptical Coils.
Good choice , 👍

Hey Gary - would you go over one more time which metals are high conductive and which metals are low conductive? I still have problems understanding that. TY.
Some small coins can be high conductive.
I will try to make a video on the subject.
How would you set up a D1 for pasture perm. I'm just using hot program but only digging shallow targets
Lower the reactivity would be my first choice then raise the audio response.
That's only if the ground will allow.
Some amazing finds once again. Great video
Thanks for watching

The round HF will certainly give you better depth, and if coarse ground coverage

Thanks Gary. What settings are you using for the Deus 1?
Thanks Gabe I change between the HOT and the SONAR.
On the video I had disc at 5.5 and audio response at 4 using the hot.
Great site set-up.
Thank you
Although I mostly use my Deus II these days ... I still enjoy taking my Deus I out. 👍
It's nice to have both 👍
Ha - my old machine *exactly* Gaz, (even down to the mod'd Hot Program!...). Love my Deus 1, so planning to keep 'er... 🙏🏻 Thanks as ever, Bobby 👊

Wot changes do u make to the hot program gents.

have you ever thought about writing an advanced manual on the use of deus? a manual that goes beyond the one provided in the box
Not really, people don't read the supplied manual 😁

Deus 1 is superior runs rings around the D2 ,yes I've both Deus 2 is my back up or beach machine...
Personal choice I guess Peter.
I would say there are 2 totally different machines, the D2 has great depth.

It depends on your desired targets and search conditions.
I prefer the HF round coil

great machine
Thanks
