Doing a house yard where the house burned down 2006,,old house it was ,, interesting the amount of junk , good training but ,, every square foot 10 pieces of junk,,lol,,,some coins ,,but modern,,,,it’s all good fun though,,,

And I thought using a disc above 10 started affecting depth. Always run it 10 or lower. I’ll be experimenting with it now. BTW your Hot and Sifter work well here for me across the pond. Really only ones I use. Well done G.

Great demo Gary! Like you I'm a -6.4 detectorist, it's found me 2 habitations sites....but I think you proved 100 per cent that discrim on moistish soil does NOT affect depth of target, yes agree with Jethro target separation between iron and positive target is another video for you to make! I’ve just received an XP DEUS and have never detected before
I’ll be detecting on the beach fir coins rings ect and expecting more than a bit of trash
In addition,, to make it more interesting ive heard the solid black stones have iron in them
Any help is more than I can ask !

If you have never detected before I would suggest you don't overthink situations at this stage.
Just use your Deus in the factory default beach program until you become confident with its reactions.

I have an old girl guides playground by me that is trashy but full of coins and badges. I go over it with disc up to 30 to cherry pick the best targets. Keep these useful vids coming 👍😁

It all depends… pasture or recreational site! Personally old ground… no disc at all. Recreational areas … deffo 😄👍🏼

Its disc what stops most people finding the good stuff, it is why you love the mixed mode on your nautilus, adding disc dont only get rid of iron but most low conductors in iron, ie gold and hammereds, i detected with a guy who had not found any gold in 35 years detecting, i found loads on the same land, great video gary, ps i dig my share of iron but dont bother me, nothing will beat a nautilus at extreme depth on low conductors the magic is in the allmetal channel get xp to make a machine useing mixed all meatal disc, i will buy one😁

Setting the DISC at 30 for a target that hits at 50 is not going to make much difference.
I think it may do at depth...the great unknown I guess.

Gary, is the fact of not affecting depth because y’all have no/little minerals. If you have even mild to moderate minerals, would that change everything? I’m not in your skill level but detecting on and off since 1973 and that’s my understanding. I think Andy’s boot camp he said up to 8 or 10 disc didn’t affect depth here?
