  • One of the most asked questions about MSC... is Yacht Club REALLY worth all that extra money?
    Yes... yes, it most definitely is.

    The only, ONLY bad thing about YC is the YC beach on Ocean Cay. Everything else is *chef’s kiss*. We will cruise fewer times in order to save and afford YC.

    We cruised in YC earlier this year and there was a point (maybe day 3 or 4) where I looked over at my wife and I said, "What's on your mind?"
    She paused, and then said, "Nothing. Literally nothing, that's how relaxed I am."
    If that doesn't sum up the level of zen and relaxation that YC provides, I don't know what does.

    For a person with medical conditions and moves at a slower pace, love YC because everything is in close proximity. I would never be able to cruise on MSC because the size of the ship and amount of people. YC allows me to explore and enjoy a large ship at my leisure. I am a blue collar worker and will spend the extra money for a more enjoyable cruise for my situation. Love your videos and keep them coming.

    We all work very hard to make a way for ourselves and our families in this society. For my one or two cruises each year, I go to the Yacht Club (or Disney Concierge) to get the luxury & exclusivity in order to maximize my vacation time, money, and experience. As you guys mentioned early in the video, the Yacht Club saves time - time spent in line, time waiting for drinks, time embarking/disembarking the ship at each port, etc. The Yacht Club stretches my vacation dollar to the maximum amount of time allowable. The YC crew members we’ve met since we started cruising with MSC in 2016 have watched our children grow up and they are truly our friends now. And could I cruise 4 times a year not in the Yacht Club, sure. But, I honestly don’t want to cruise that much because I’m afraid it would take away from the special excitement I get on embarkation day - like a kid on Christmas morning - on the way to see what old Santa brought me. Arriving at the terminal, seeing the Yacht Club tent and making that walk down the blue carpet to my little piece of paradise will always be special because I know what awaits me up in the Top Sail Lounge.

Our earliest fantastica sailings were around 1500 for two people. 8 years later, a fantastica sailing is around 1700 for two including drinks and wifi. Not bad at all. Now with yacht club, we always do interior cabins. And, the pricing has remained around 3500 for 8 days/7 nights pretty consistent for years. At first i felt uncomfortable saying i was in the YC until i realized how unorganized embarkation day was. People left and right were directing me to go every which way. Eventually i said forget this, im using my YC celebrity status because something dont seem right😅
    Once i told someone i was in YC i got the escort i knew i was supposed to get. it was weird because my husband actually walked off to find someone and it ended up being a guy that walked right by us🤦🏾‍♀️ what a mess. From what I've learned from watching multiple videos was you get the little sticker at the YC tent outside, so when you get inside the terminal, they know you're in YC and someone will walk you to where you belong 😂
    And I guess this isnt msc's fault but most of the group getting escorted on the ship got lost in the crowd of everyone else waiting to get on. Overall I think it's worth it. I actually just booked my second YC experience on the world america yesterday. Very excited for that.

      Hey Dave. The price they offered you was right about the price we got offered on Seashore. While it is still a great price for YC, it was outside our budget. Our way of thinking is to book or bid the experience you want to have on the ship. Stephanie is right, booking YC straight is anywhere from 3-4 thousand so if it’s something you want… bid right away and cross your fingers. It might drop closer but never a guarantee.
      And yes, the bid price goes off of the category that you booked. So it will be more if you are in an interim cabin than if you had a balcony.

I have had to cancel twice on MSC and twice on Carnival and it's been my experience that these taxes and port fees are NOT automatically refunded. I've had to fight tooth and nail each and every time to get them refunded.... eventually. The cruise lines are required to refund these charges but apparently the cruise lines realize that these refunds are not being policed by anyone and they will be all too happy to keep them unless their hand is forced.

    I don't get it either; it's like sitting in traffic and you see a guy in the car next to you in a BMW and you're in a Chevy. But, you're going to feel some kinda way about the guy in the BMW! Or the people in first class on the plane while you're in row 30! I mean, C'MON people are you serious!?

    • @StrahlemannLP
      @StrahlemannLP 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think, that you got the point. For me, as a classic 7-series driver (I own a 5-Series E61 too) it is - for real - about the comfort. Sitting in a traffic jam in a car, which is whisper quiet, well air conditioned, well built (especially for the E38!) and comfy is a whole other story, than sitting in a car, who wants to be like a BMW. Don't get me wrong: I am maybe one of the few german folks, who love american cars a lot and I didn't think any other like you do, until I drove my E38 for the first time.
      The very same with First Class or at least Business Class: It is all about the comfort and the fact, that you can even stretch your legs or do not have somebody benath you, who is interfering your personal space and this is exactly the reason why people book classes like this or drive 7-series BMW.
      For me? I booked 2 weeks Norwegian Cruise with MSC in the Yacht Club, because it is my first real vacation since 30 years and I just want to relax at a maximum...because I would hate it to pay a lot of money, for waiting in line for at least 45min...I just want to relax and if I want to have the time to sit and relax on a deck chair and read a book. Because I did not have any free time to do so for the last years.

      @StrahlemannLP 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Taste-Try-Travel Must say, that I will have my first cruise in roughly one year...but, why hiding it and do not use the services you got. In doubt, jealous people will always be in the place and I am quiet sure, that on my cruise through Norway there are also many who think "Wow, he can afford it. Why not? There will be good reasons, why he can afford it and it seems so, that he have a lot of fun!".
      Something else is it, when you are flexing with it...just depends on what kind of person you are, it is really not my style and if sticking to any luxury, I would stick always to the silent one and will always treat people like I wanted to be treated.
      So...long story short: No hiding planned and if I wanted to have my butler involve in other parts of the ship...I will do it! 🙂Have a lovely weekend!

      @@Taste-Try-Travel No I have never had the feeling to do that. On two of our YC cruises, our wristbands didn't have the Yacht Club logo on it. For me, it's not about flashing it around for everybody to "Get out of my way because I'm in the Yacht Club!" **omnipotent voiceover off**
      The Yacht Club has become my little slice of paradise for a week or two. On several cruises, we have only left the YC section of the ship to disembark in port and dinner at Butcher's Cut. I don't give a second thought about what other people might think about me being in the YC; they can too - it's available for everyone to purchase.

    Still surprises me that in the US the price you see on the shelf isn’t the price you pay, because tax(es) need to be added at the till. Even in countries like South Africa you’ve had the final price on the shelf since the 80s already

      Hi. Since the California law passed… that has changed now. The price you see for cruises includes taxes and port fees. The only thing you won’t see included are the gratuities 😊😊

      @@Taste-Try-Travel is that just for cruises or everything you buy like groceries?

      @@farab4391 so the law was passed in California. Not sure all that it applies to but because some cruises went out of that state, all cruise lines, even those like MSC who don’t cruise out of there, still chose to adopt that rule. I’m sure other states will pick it up and then things like groceries will change to it.
