    One of my favorite vlogs, I’ve always wondered if pilots were able to use the tractors themselves and how they hooked up to the aircraft. For us novices that enjoy learning about the mysteries of flight, this was a lot of fun to watch.

    • @captmoonbeam
      @captmoonbeam  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks. I think most pilots have never towed or fueled an airplane.

    Captain.. just wow.. you out did yourself on this one, the many different shot angles on the same subject.. that's a lot of editing and work, you get a gold medal

    That seal for the door has been around for ever! I once had about a gallon of rain trapped in the line after a heavy downpour. We took off, it froze and made a hell of a noise!

      I've had a few that whistled like a banshee

    I used to work at a FBO and I NEVER saw a pilot push his plane in cause they could never figure out how to push/tow lol ; You are the man Captain ! Keep up all the great work and cheers from Wright Patt

    • @captmoonbeam
      @captmoonbeam  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks Danger. When I was based at Cps, any time it was after hours or on the weekend, we had to tow and fuel our own airplanes.

    AS FOR FLIGHT PLANNING..... I DO A QUICK CHECK OF THE "IFR ROUTE ANALYZER" ON THE FLIGHT AWARE SITE. IT GIVES UP TO THE MINUTE ROUTES ISSUED BY ATC. GREAT LITTLE SHORTCUT. OFTENTHEY WILL HAVE THE LATEST ROUTES AROUND WX.

    Situational awareness brought to a new level with the technology on that M2, beautiful aircraft must be great to fly it single pilot.

    Great video, thanks captain! Loved a bit more detail on the M2 and great editing. Good camera angle across the cockpit when you're single pilot too.

  • @rnzoli

    I love it when you show parts of the pre-flight preparations, with some interesting fun facts. It also shows that flying is actually not just abouit flying in the air, but all the cool stuff that needs to be done on the ground before and after the flights. I love cuddling the airplanes on the ground too :)

    This was an extremely interesting and good video. Like the closeups and details. Kind of amazed they let you operate the tow vehicle, I would think they would sweat out any damage to hanger doors, etc. This has to be one of your best.

    Another Great video. I used to have a few long days like you did. Cannot do those anymore. Get rested, looking forward to your next video. You should put one up of a quiet day that is paperwork, checking plane, checking weather for next trip, and then dinner out with your family. Fly safe.

      captmoonbeam thanks but I won't get that. We only teach that right now in ICT. I'm staying here in Orlando. Thanks for the good wish. I'm actually very happy teaching the Mustang. I love the owners And pilots I teach. I would be sad if that owner bought one, he said he prob will keep the Stang. I would hate to lose him as a client. He's really good pilot and lots of fun!

    Another winner Jimmy, looks like a long tiring day with bad food...

  • @Visonista
    @Visonista 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ciao Jim! Another nice video, grazie.
    Some requests please:
    1. When you are performing solo flights and you're settled into the cruise could you please share a brief 'life lesson' (something inspirational that you've learned or discovered along life's way perhaps) or maybe a little 'story', possibly of an interesting flight or event (or anything) which you have encountered. This doesn't need to be long, but a couple of moments to speak to your viewers at a more personal level.
    2. I prefer it when you have the video sound plugged into your comms system. I definately don't like the cockpit speaker. It's also nice when you use the intercom to speak onto the video and hopefully give us flight info such as what level you've reach on your cruise, your heading and so on. Yes, we might see some of this from the screens but its also nice to hear this info from you. Also, its always nice to hear some two-way ATC (again with the sound plugged-in to your comms).
    3. Could you show a little more of the food that you eat, perhaps like when you are a little way into your meal you could give us a shot of the food with a brief comment on how you find it. This is interesting for those of us living outside the US.
    Sorry for all these requests, but .. as Christmas approaches I thought 'why not?'.
    All the best to you Jim, and many happy landings!
    V.

    • @captmoonbeam
      @captmoonbeam  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, They're all good request. Getting good sound for the M2 videos is a problem and often speaker is my only option. But, I may have found something that'll work.

    Although the day was long, it's still remarkable the amount of distance a person can travel in a day. Just 50 years ago (1967), such travel was not all that common. 100 years ago (1917), it would have taken weeks, if not months.

    For those pilots watching this, please do not turn on your transponder to TA/RA until you are taking the active runway. When I flew the M2, I use to get aural traffic advisories on short final all the time. It is a distraction at a crucial stage of flying. Goes back to the PPL days...

    • @captmoonbeam
      @captmoonbeam  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I trained before the revolution in digital avionics. Everything I trained on had analog instruments and no moving maps. Also once I got my ratings there was about a four year period where no one was hiring. That made it very difficult to build time.

    Question: First off, Love your videos, Thank-you. Love how you explain things other pilots I know never tell me, not even my friend next door who flies 777 for United. Anyway, do you guys ever fly into my fair city in South Florida on your way to the Carribean? Called: Boca Raton? 33434. Can u take on a passenger or two then? I want to fly with someone I trust, and watching videos of pilots and if they have good personality well that makes it better.

      Thanks. Unfortunately, we only get to fly the owners and their families.
