    Talking about your unreal chops would strangely feel like undermining the actual sheer purity of the music. Magnificent. Thanks Jon

    Incredible detail. you get all the presence and warmth from the lows/mids without sacrificing the clarity up top. I'm still blown away by how well they pick up harmonics.

    Sounds better than a mic'd effort. And no time wasted placing the mics either!
    Amazing pickup. Amazing player. Amazing song.

    no way im hearing this correctly, this is amazing, absolutely incredible and stunning, the holy grail of acoustic sound the tappers and progressive experimental players been waiting for in a simple system that can be applied to most guitars.

    I bought and played this song these days, but I did it on my baritone guitar but it's still not fully playable like that lol you're a genius Jon

    I got the Rare Earth with power tap last year, but returned it in the end because it felt like something was missing (the condenser). I had noticed that Jon's signature guitars had a "triple" Fishman system unavailable anywhere else. I'm really glad they are releasing it as a standalone product, will likely upgrade my guitar soon! 🎉

      The 3 pickups go via my Motu Ultralite interface into Reaper. Then each pickup gets treated with Izotope Neutron for compression and EQ. For the verse sections, the magnetic pickup is running through an amp sim - basically a Plexi-type sound from Line6 Helix Native. Reverbs wise, for this one I used some Audiority stuff, mostly Polaris and Xenoverb. There's also an overdriven delay in places. And a synth trombone for some reason, which I made in SurgeXT. Then mastering with Izotope Ozone.

      @@jongomm That sounds super complex, but the end result was just spectacular. Such a rich sound man, I loved it.

    I'm so proud to have the JGM5, to hopefully learn this specific style of spellbinding playing; one thing's for sure Jon - your compositions really open so much room for one to channel in their playfulness/physicality when learning and playing them; when i can play so much as a verse of your work, it's unlike anything to be the one who both summons and bears witness to a beautiful aura of sound in those moments when it all flows like water. And to have this pickup system to help, it makes it much simpler and easier to learn this Hedges derivative style! Cheers mate!

    Wow! What an incredible piece! There are times when an instrumental piece has left me feeling like somebody just told me their life's story. The tempo changes, the minor to major changes, then the minor 7th's that leave it up to us to decide... at times some of you guys do it so beautifully that I need to have a smoke when I'm done listening hahaha Thanks for sharing what inspired this. I have 4 grown kids and this perfectly "describes" the fear and amazement I went through. Beautiful man!!!✌

    Shucks just upgraded my main guitar to the rare earth blend, is there a possibilty do get only the third sensor or something? I‘ve always used the rare earth in combination with the fishman piezzo

    • @jongomm
      @jongomm  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can't buy the PowerTap sensor on its own, but you can get it combined with a piezo I think, so maybe that's your next upgrade!
