- On this two night trip, I meet with a new friend, test out some rainwear, and discover my favorite campsite to date. This EPIC spot on top of a mountain has views of Mount Rushmore and Black Elk Peak, along with a complete 360 degree view of all the mountains of the South Dakota Black Hills.

I had a great time hanging out and hiking a few miles with you. As you know I was crushing the miles, until I set my tent up on a bee/hornets nest at the Dalton Lake Trailhead. I’ll be back to finish soon
It was a pleasure to meet you man! We will keep in touch for sure.
@@BackpackingwithBuckley maybe for my revenge hike
This was the area we were in together. I think we camped at that spot below Mt.Rushmore. My buddy uses the kilt. He loves it. Great spot for night 2. Love those views. Cool video and area 👍🏻👍🏻
It was the same site we were in when it was really buggy and Miyagi found that cool stream. Best memories ever there!
Another solid trip. Trail looked excellent!
It was an amazing trail. Thanks bud!
Wow....that looks like a stunning place to be!!
It was a lucky find for sure!
I have a cool spot in the black elk wilderness where you can see black elk peak, the needles and half of Washington's face.. love the videos man.
Thanks bud!! I think I may know that spot. It's a dry camp right?
Have to hand it to you there Tim, an uber cool pitch! 🏕👌. Always fun to meet a new friend on trail too. The night shot of mount rushmoore was pretty epic! Like button smashed!👍
Pete and Shell 😊👊
It was a truly memorable trip!
I've camped there twice now, it came in real handy during a rainstorm I got caught in, another nice video Buckley.
Which spot? The one below Rushmore?
@@BackpackingwithBuckley yes, sorry not to differentiate which one. Across the bridge to the left as you’re going up if I’m correct.
Oh my fuck that spot was cool! That night shot of Mount Rushmore was hella cool! 🙌🏼
It was a lucky find dude. Hopefully you can make it back out here someday!
Daymnnn them hills are special 😍
Mr. Mike!!! Hope you are well man. The Hostile is looking good!
@@BackpackingwithBuckley Same to you, Its gettin there!
That morning fart killed me! New to the channel and was not expecting that 😂😂😂
Haha. I have a very immature sense of humor! Thanks for tuning in!
@@BackpackingwithBuckley As do I apparently! 😂
Great trip! I’m not a fan of the choppers nor am I a fan of shooting off fireworks over the Mountain of the Six Grandfathers on July fourth. Imagine what that does to the wildlife. Thanks for sharing!✌️
You're my kinda guy man! Completely agree@
Awesome outing brother.. thanks for the video
Appreciate you Mark. Hope your summer is going well!
Awesome camp spot. Sweet views out there.
It's a stunning place. I wish I could just live in the woods out there. Lol
Man that campsite was epic. Keep it up man.
Best one I've ever found on accident for sure dude!
Epic hang buddy!!!!! Great to see back out in the SG rig. And I vote for helicopters stink.
Thanks Pete! Nothing like a night in the Superior Gear hammock for me!
@@BackpackingwithBuckley love to hear it. Hope to see you soon.
great trip man!! keep em coming
Thanks Dave!
I would say they should severely limit those helicopter tours. I agree that it takes away from the peace and quiet, and that's why we hike to get away. But I can see how for some people it would be quite the experience to fly over that area.
Always the voice of reason, Boop. Well said.
The highlight for me was the farting. LOL
🤣 Awww, Nicole. Only a select few people enjoy my crude humor.
I don't like noise pollution so I'm not in favor of the helicopter tours. Same reason why avoid adding a drone to my filming kit. Great vid, epic campsite!
Well said. If the choppers weren't so frequent it wouldn't be as annoying.
What's the frequency on the helicopter flights? I generally don't mind such noises - not everyone can venture deep into the wilderness and it gives people a unique perspective on the landscape.
The frequency is really the problem for me. It seems to never end.
I know that campsite too.
Really? Are you from the area?
@@BackpackingwithBuckley From California, but I get around.
@@Armchair_Backpacker nice!
The farts are my favorite parts of this video. I must have missed this view you were talking about?
There was no view. It was just click bait.
I dislike the choppers. They have detracted from my experience every time I’ve been out there. Maybe someday, Timmy and Inwill meet up and do a TH-camrs meet up.
Someday buddy!
