OMG! Love the drone shots! I did NOT know they would come out so steady and clear! I travel to Los Angeles on the Starlight quite often, from there using Amtrak California trains to San Diego, with a few Coaster rides thrown in for fun. Many places look familiar.
Dan Snydar very smart way to travel is by Amtrak & California Amtrak, Metrolink, Coaster. I drove from Ventura back to Chula Vista on 3/18/2017 via U.S.101 to I-405(The 405 parking lot) to the Long Beach Freeway to look for my former girl friends church and then took the 91 freeway to the Santa Ana freeway, it took me 6 1/2 hours because people were slowing down for fun & enjoyment, and there was an accident on the 101(Ventrua Freeway which turned into the Ventura parking lot). In the future when I travel from the damned Sh@thole Loser City Tucson metro area in anti passenger train, anti commuter train Arizona by to the Civilized San Diego area I will be taking the Pacific Surfliner from Civilized San Diego to Los Angeles & Oxnard & using California Amtrak, the San Diego Trolley more often. I travel long distance by Amtrak trains & will be doing more of mid distance travel & short distance travel by Amtrak more often.
Depends on what part of track and area their in. The NEC top speed is 150, but the top speed for all long hauls and usual Amtrak trains is 79 mph, if I'm not mistaken the southwest chief is the only long haul train that usually operates at 89 mph nothing higher then that. I also know that the Amtrak wolverine just recently started running at 110.
TrainAwsome 9000 That is indeed a cab car which previously was an engine and was converted into a baggage car. The term used for it is called NPCU for non powered control unit.
Man, the mixture of locomotives and passenger cars on these trains are so weird yet interesting.
Great photography. Really enjoy watching them often
I live in the sticks of New Hampshire, went to Boston and saw my first Amtrax locomotive, OMG it was so huge, loved it.
The drone really enhances the capture quality. Nice work as usual.
Fan Railer. 👎
3:14 Wow, the train really makes those cars look very tiny!
18:03 I love that sound
Awesome video! I can't wait to get my new camera to film Union Pacific trains in the coachella valley

Thanks mate!

The reason why 458's horn fouled is the crash it was in in 2005 or something i dont know
Just curious if you're using a drone in some of these shots. If you are that's pretty awesome! Good video as always Spence
What happened that this was reuploaded?
Was that a GO Transit engine at 4:44?
Trans-Continental Rail Fan yes yes it was
Wow! Cool to see Canada in the most unlikely place!
Ya it sure is
Trans-Continental Rail Fan It is Ex-GO Transit, now Metrolink has it for rent from RB Leasing Co.
The BNSF locos leased by Metrolink are AC4400CWs, NOT Dash 9s!
Ok
Paul Badillo ugh a AC4400CW is a dash 9
Alexstrainvids Channel NO IT IS NOT !!!!
@@therookie9276then why does it look similar, HUH??
@@RedJaybuher2011 this an old comment lol
What is the name of the amtrak train on 2:12
TrainAwsome 9000 That is NPCU 90229 with 90208.
I 've never seen a dash 8 at 3:14
The whole train is just an older version of the surfliner they use consisting of the Amfleet cars and the F40PHs just working as a cab car
Where do the coach cars here go?
On average without stops how fast does Amtrak go?
