    How is the waist fit? True to size or size up?

      Kyle, the waist is true to fit except that with the flexible waistband it just feels roomy which I like because when you move and sit, it doesn't pull tight on your belly. Also, it makes wearing an IWB gun like my Glock 19 very comfortable. I could have gone down a size but I like the extra room. It only feels roomy, it doesn't have a lot of bulk in the crotch like you'd think. With a good belt, I use a ratcheting belt, they stay up just fine. Hope this helps.

    Some folks wear military style cargo belts. They are wider/more robust than your typical civilian belt.

    Great review Chris. I was considering buying this pant, but changed my mind after you pointed out the excessive belt loop material and very wide leg. They have some good points, too, which you covered well, but I found your review thorough and helpful.

    Thanks for pointing out the lack of a gusset. That's important for a 6'5" 280 pounds Viking like me.

    Waist can run big with the adjustment. I went down a size. Trying a pair now. I like them so far. May replace the taclites I wear everyday. They are roomy and are cut like a work uniform trouser.

    The belt loops are "big" so they can accommodate up to a 2" belt.

    What size are the pants your wearing in the video? Thanks.

    Are the front pockets deep enough to carry a snubbie revolver in a pocket holster? I wear Atlas 45 Jeans that have a 10 inch-deep front pocket. I am looking for office slacks with deep pockets as well. Thanks! As to the length, just have a tailor take them up.

      The pocket up to the bottom edge of the seam (where you would clip a knife) is 7 inches. They are about 6-1/2 inches wide. I think it would fit.

    Do they wrinkle easily

    Are they stretchy like Ridgeline, Apex and Stryke pants?

    • @maddogtactical6880

      Check out the video at 1:01. They don't stretch like those other pants but are wide in the legs so there's plenty of room for movement.

    Nice pants; however, I would like to see a zipper on the utility pocket for phone safety. The phone can slip out when seating on a soft sofa....

    Yeah I agree that it looks a little too baggy. Does anyone know pants kind of similar to this that's designed for "work at the office" type pants? I don't want to look crazy tactical but I do want to carry stuff with relative ease.

      Old comment, but I'll respond anyway... the KÜHL "Silencr" pant might be up your alley. I highly recommend them. I'm new to 511... never bought anything from them; I'm watching this video out of curiosity about the brand. If you read this and have found an answer to your question, I'd be curious what you found.

      @@JonaWilliamson hey man, I’ll check out the pants you mentioned. I got the 5.11 bravo pants. I think it may be discontinued now but it the fit wasn’t too “skinny” or “baggy” just a nice modern fit, was stretchy and made conceal and carry really easy. I work in a Corp office but still wanted to pack some pants that made carrying easy and gave me great mobility because you never know if you have to do something

    If the bulk at the bottom is a concern, why not just have a tailor or seamstress hem them for proper length? Good review otherwise. Question, do these have an appearance more like dress slacks or just like a polyester version of covert khakis?

    • @maddogtactical6880
      @maddogtactical6880  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leon Adams Leon Adams Great questions. The only reason that I don't have a tailor make an adjustment to the pant leg is because I'm afraid that the quality of the seam would not be the same as if it came directly from the manufacturer. As for the fit of the pant and if they resemble dress pants, I would say yes except that the pant leg down by the cuff is pretty wide. Other than that they do resemble a dressier pant but not a slack.

    • @LeonAdamsSSC
      @LeonAdamsSSC 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could one pull off wearing this with a dress shirt as business casual lets say? (Currently wearing their gen 1 Covert Khaki line with dress shirts and love them)

    • @maddogtactical6880
      @maddogtactical6880  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say yes. It's just the wide pant cuff but I think you could pull it off. If not, you can return them.

      @@LeonAdamsSSC did you ever end up doing a business casual outfit with these?

    • @LeonAdamsSSC
      @LeonAdamsSSC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sarah_Kinz Yes, I paired it with a blue blazer and dress shirt along with a pair of Cole Hahn shoes. Worked well. I still prefer the cut of the 1st generation though the fabric of this one presents better.

    I found that if you iron a crease into the leg then it fixes that baggy look and will fit so much better. they also look better ironed

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And it makes them look like a pair of uniform pants, which I'm sure people are trying to avoid.

  • @priceandpride

    why are the legs so wide:?

    • @maddogtactical6880
      @maddogtactical6880  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure exactly. My guess is to give you more room. I can say that if you carry on the ankle, they are the perfect size.

  • @JOHN42TD

    Good review but lol too much length in the legs?? Try a smaller pair

    • @maddogtactical6880
      @maddogtactical6880  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point. The issue I have with a shorter pair of pants is that then they are too small in the crotch. Unfortunately, My leg length to crotch length is all messed up. I usually have to deal with longer pant length or suffer from the alternative... Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked the review.

      Hi! Nice review! Still about the size of the legs, is the size true to label? I heard 5.11 pants are all over the place about the inseam size. BTW, I got a 5.11 Apex, they are the best pants I've ever used. Waist and inseam are correct, the fabric is stretchy and very light, very comfortable.

    • @maddogtactical6880
