PS2 and Xbox were incredible obviously but people are so quick to forget that Gamecube was a laughing stock at the time and SEGA completely 💩the bed during this generation.
I think 7th Gen was the last great era of the Big 3. The 360 was Peak gaming and essentially the sequel to PS2. It had so many great games, much better than PS3 imo. PS3 had fun exclusives like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, MGS4. Wii had wii Sports, Mario Galaxy. Sega was publishing and producing titles like Yakuza, Some mediocre Sonic games, Vanquish, Bayonetta (as a publisher). 8th gen is still great, but you have less innovation and more sequels, remasters, remakes of 6th and 7th gen games, which just shows you the greatness of those generations. XBOX once a juggernaut, dropped the ball with the XBOX one and never recovered since, and led to PS4 dominating. What was once the BIG 4 consoles was streamlined to 3 and now it seems like XBOX is heading the way of SEGA with publishing games on all platforms. I would not be surprised if Gen 10 is only Sony and Nintendo making consoles while XBOX providing GamePass across all platforms.
Best era of gaming period
7th is great too
I finally got a working controller for my PS2 Slim
I always tell people this is the greatest era of gaming. I still collect GameCube PS2 and og Xbox games.
Me too!
I have both OG XBOX and PS2 and 6th gen era was def the best time to be a hardcore console gamer. :)
i bought my first console at game stop way back when. The original Xbox was incredible.
Wish I could connect with you. Need some spots to collect in nyc

It was a big 4. But would you say maybe the Dreamcast was maybe a mid gen system? It came out earlier and didn’t last too long
