Starting with "god" is God. "Laughing to much tears" ; It is too many tears! "All your comments is"; it is all your comments are! "did you even go to school" , It is did you ever go to school! "Are you even a native", the word even is not used or necessary and such is typical to a ghetto child! Are you from the ghetto child? "Because it, for sure as hell, seems like you aren't" Oh my God every sentence and you are critical of my grammar! The sentence should be; it seems that you are not familiar with the English language. You have a grammar error in every sentence you wrote!! LMAO! ha ha ha!! Oh My God! I assure you that my education level is far beyond yours. Study bullets for writing if you are able as it is commonly used in science and in the military as well as businesses. You are laughing at me?? The irony is correct and you are too damn stupid to even see it is your grammar. I also know it is a tactic idiots play when they are beaten to the argument so bye bye moron.

It was very sad when the creator of this video tried to imposed the American obsession with race on French people. In France it is not proper to identify people by color of skin. He tried that with a Frenchman of African origin, but the Frenchman told him in plain English that he was French and not black. I wish America would adopt the French system. Obviously black (excuse the adjective) French people have much better self-esteem than Americans.

    • @julian65886

Redsq Rds In America not a day goes by when blacks try to tell others there is racism. For the love of God how many times must the issue of racism be raised? Even though racism has decreased a LOT Americans have a much lower self esteem that their counterparts in France. Lastly seeing racism where there is not implies that some blacks actually believe in the supremacy of whites.

If you're born and raised in america you're an american. In europe however, you can't just become french, swedish or spanish because these are cultural heritages. In the black race, we have so many different kinds of shades and maybe they even thought u were a part black. I wouldn't see it as a bad thing but as curiosity in how you label yourself. Personally I ask people their race because I know that not everybody is one race . Honestly, I don't think you should ever feel like u should feel like you have to label yourself im a specific race,Just be what you are comfortable with. Hélène Jackson What she said is that French do not face issues regarding racism in their country. She didn't specify anything about living in the past. What I seem to notice in Europe is that there is more of an historical consciousness over there than here--probably because they have more history. In America we tend to be historical amnesiacs, and in the words of Henry Ford to assume that "history is bunk."

I think the biggest difference is That if You ask a black person living In America What they are they would respond "i'm African-American" but In Europe they wouldn't add african or whatever like they would Just say "i'm British, French, Russian" etc...and wer not so crazy about labelling someone like i don't care where You are from or What are your origins , as long as You respect me i respect You too
(And sorry for my english haha i'm not A native speaker, and i didn't say That to offend anyone)

    • @minxxoxo
      @minxxoxo 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Remember what America is famous for, for being a "melting pot" and immigration. Only the black people who were taken as slaves to U.S tend to call themselves that. Or some will say Black American, or if their family is from Africa, tend to say African American not all Black people in America are AA. If you're from somewhere else/your family is from somewhere else, you're more likely to just say "I'm Black" and if the person wants you to be more specific, then you say your origin. For me I'm Haitian-American it's a lot more complicated

    • @minxxoxo
      @minxxoxo 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+Minxoxo it's not that we're "crazy" about labeling people, it's just that many people that come here do want you to know their origin and there's nothing wrong with that at all. Of course we're all American and it's clear we're American, but remember the only people who don't get the "-American" are only White people. They're American by default. But many of European heritage also go by "-American" or say I'm So and so when people ask their origin. I wonder why this is looked down upon in Europe? We treat others the way they are (nice person? Okay. Mean? Stay away)

    • @yazzyraka5959
      @yazzyraka5959 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+Minxoxo on Europe when they ask this they would ask If we where born here or not and If not then they would ask us our origins but That don't happen a lot actually. They would mostly ask is when they are not sure of our origins like for me they ask me because they mistake me for an indian person but black personne too. So Thats why It is like That In Europe (maybe not everyone)

You can't find any "french-african" in France as we don't say it. We just say "french". We don't call people "immigrants" too. Racist people makes this kind of distinctions here ; others don't and it's very bad considered to call someone a "french-african" or such things instead of a french here. Please consider us as all french, nothing else.
And please when you visit us, you could at least learn how to say "bonjour, excusez-moi, parlez-vous anglais ?" (hello, excuse me, do you speak english ?) before starting the conversation. It would take like 2 minuts to learn and would be more respectful.
By the way, the drawings on the store means :
Hollande : "together for a new world"
    Obama : "Ok brother"
the Maya : "the change is now !"
It is both an obvious joke about the "end of the world" theories and a joke about our president campaign. His main sentence while the presidential campaign was "le changement c'est maintenant" (the change is now). It was his favorite sentence, like "yes we can" for your president. It is just a joke about politics and the antic mayan calendar theories. There is absolutely not racism at all in it, even for your very special victimhood and ethnocentric standards. You see a picture with a black on it, while a normal person wouldn't care about the color of the skin of the protagonists, you are searching for racism, trying to see if there is black people in the store, etc. What's wrong with you ? When I see a picture with a white, an asian or an arab I don't understand, I don't search for racism in it. At the moment, we can see you HOPE it is racist. That's the problem. Instead of traveling the world in order to find racism, you bring it with you and see it everywhere - and expect to see it. It's not a fair attitude for others you judge too quickly (and believe me, you can't deeply understand a country in a few days asking people on the capital). Your attitude toward this simple picture is very representative of your obsession (because this is what it seems to be : an obsession). You can do more than "being a black man". You can just be a man, travel and enjoy the meetings and the culture. Here, the color of your skin is as important and interesting as the color of your eyes, your hair and your shoes. It would be ridiculous to define yourself by the color of your hair or your shoes, right ? As a french, when I see a man, whatever is color is, obsessed by it and asking about it people on the street, the only thing I think is : how ridiculous. I feel very uncomfortable for you while watching this video.

They told me this, it was a long time ago we can all get along together now. They were very kind respectful. Most thought all whites looked the same, many thought I looked like Antonio Banderas, which I don't, many came to touch my hair, my skin. They would watch me eat and laugh. No I never thought they were racist for ma y wanting to touch my hair and rub my skin. I was just different. They called my mzungu, or white man, European man. I never took it in a wrong way. If I tried to see everything as racism I would have hated Africa and would have concluded that they were racists. At the end my friends would tell me you are a black man with white skin. Ok I think this video is unnecessary and not show us anything concrete. I'm french and as everyone (I think) I have stereotypes about different country. Sure in France there is racism but as everywhere and in particular because of the crisis. There are poeple who are racist here I will not deny.
I think the problem comes from both sides. I'm Tunisian and French and each year I come back to Tunisia (like a lot of Maghrebian) I really like my country but I can't live their because to find a job, gain money it's very difficult. There are black/arabs French who were born in France and have parents born in Africa, and say bad things about France, but they don't realize how lucky they are to live in a country like ours and I want to see them live there so they can see how life is more difficult than in France. But it's no their fault, they face an identity crisis.
I'm verry Happy to live in France because there is real multiculturalism, There are dumb people who want to break it, says that it's a faibless but we have to go over and try to do our best for the coming years.
Sorry for my English I'm still learning.

The political events lately have really changed minds of people about religion though but still, it's not a thing on everyday's life.
Though, when i go on holidays in other regions that are more "traditional", some people are not used to being in a very diverse social environment and I believe this is the main source of racism in french, along with all of the Muslims stereotypes. I love France. I found as long as I tried to speak a bit of French and had a positive attitude they were very open. But that is anywhere, you have to travel with the right attitude and respect for the place you are visiting. I have also traveled all around Europe and outside of Germany, I have experienced more racism in the US than anywhere else. I did notice how differently I was treated as an American than my African counterparts in Italy...that was a bit offsetting. I was in Italy for a few years and felt at home. The people were very nice and welcoming to me. But again, I tried to speak as much of the Language as I possibly could at least greetings. Europeans are very funny about you at least trying to say Hello, Thank you, Please...I am going back to Germany though to see if my experience is any different that it was a few years ago.

Yes, I think he probably thought the blacks were holding back. Which they may have been, but it was more so out of the fact they probably have seen or felt some racism, but not to the point they felt that they had to be angry or start telling their stories. They were more conservative about over voicing any concerns. The US, it's so divided that we feel it more and it's more in your face. People are angry and to a point deserve to be. People in Europe can discuss these issues without feeling as though they are attacking anyone. I have European friends and American friends. There is racism everywhere. Some advertisements like what we saw in the video are shocking and I will never understand them. But, France has always been an open and accepting country. My friends who ask how I could have lived in Italy, they are racists. I remind them that in the beginning of the Katrina hurricane in New Orleans, Italy was one of the if not the first country to send help. USA was not even close to sending help by the time Italy help arrived. During the 20's and 30's when all hell was breaking out racially in the US, Paris was a safe haven for blacks. Most black entertainers retire to France and have renewed careers. Are there racists in Europe? YES, but the US is just as bad if not worse.

Pick the language you like the most. French is spoken in more countries, and it’s a good language to know if you’re travelling in Africa for example, alongside english, but if you want to go study or work in Europe, German fluency is a very good thing to have on your resume. From what I’ve seen, German is easier to learn though, especially if your native language is English.

If you say that you are probably Arab or non black because I was born in France has a black person and their is a lot of racism towards black people. By the way I find that North Africans (the majority NOT ALL of them. My best friend is Arab and not racist at all) are very racist even more sometimes towards black people. What I mean is that they show it more they are not afraid to say racist words in front of your face. Yes they are very friendly but they are very disrespectful to black people .Their hatred towards black people is so intense it seems like black people did them something it's crazy. If their is a black old lady next to a white old lady in a train the Arab guy would give his space to the white women. Indian are similar to Arab and Chinese are more like white racist (extremely racist but more discreet). Nevertheless, their is racism in every country. People hate Arab, blacks, white, Chinese all around the world but some get better treated. For some reason it is the one whose ancestries have stolen, killed, robbed the most.

Tiffany Me I'm not Arab or North African at all I'm East African (black), but I'm also Muslim so I get lumped in with the Arab category. And yes I know that a lot of Arab countries and people are racist towards blacks, a lot of people from my country go to Arab countries to study, work and live in and they do face discrimination. However my point is, in France and Europe in general, racism tends to be more targeted on Muslims and people who "look Arab" rather than blacks, but that doesn't mean the country is not racist itself, it's just racist towards a different group.

There's a lot of racism in France of course, but it's not like in the US, cause black people don't isolate themselves from the white.
Besides, like the African guy said at the beginning , he feels more French than African because when he goes to Africa, he is not consider as a REAL African , cause the way he acts and speaks is different. The big issue in France is the way they deal with the racism, we don't talk about it. People ignore it and pretend it does not exist (like some white French said in the video)
But the fact is that France has a difficult story with Africa because they colonized most of the countries in Africa. If you go to Africa , most of the people speak French and there's also a lot of French there, that's why France cannot say anything about the black population in France.
besides, I iust wanna remind you that there is some French territories in the Caribbean and those people are French even though they are black.

African American is a term that is so often misused. It's a cultural moniker which has little connection to the people it so often describes. White Americans can accurately be called European-Americans because they are cultural descendants of European culture. Even then it's not common. As for the majority of Black people particularly the decedents of Slave their African culture was utterly destroyed and they are far more European than they are African. I would also agree with the Nigerian woman when she said "does it make it any better when a Black person says it?" I quite honestly hear that word so often but never from a White person I would like to see the word die out completely so that people can act identically without having to walk on egg shells to avoid a touchy subject.

Human kind is not racist. Racism is based on culture.Racism started with Europeans discovering that their are other humans on this planet. They were extremely angry at what they saw. People who don't look like them knew more than them and had more than them. At first they were curious they saw people running around assuming they were animals. It made them happy but when they discover what these people had (piles of gold, diamonds, intelligence creativity, very friendly and generous to a point that they would give some of their riches). they started being jealous. To empower themselves they created society based on racism and started spreading it all around the world. Why do you think racism is often cases where a black person is belittled by a white person. You just have to look at what you see on TV movies publicity it is not that hard to realise.

I've never been to France but I do plan to visit. I feel like black people and Africans are shown racism because of the world's view of Africa. Especially America and some European countries. Africa, which is a CONTINENT NOT A COUNTRY, is always seen as the poorest "country" in the world. Yes, they some very poor places in Africa, just like there are very poor places in every country/continent in the world. They are also middle class and rich places in Africa. Aside from that, In the olden daysAmerica and many European countries enslaved African countries and basically destroyed those countries foundation. Thats why Africa is seen as "behind" in their development as a continent. Fast forward to present day, those Europeans and Americans look down on Africans and their descendents resulting in racism. I hate racism no matter if its directed to Africans, Asians, Caucasians, or whatever. It's wrong. Keep in mind though that I'm not saying EVERY American or European is racist or that America and Europe are terrible places. That would be rude and incorrect. I'm just saying that that's most likely one of the reason why there is racism in those countries. Sorry for such a long comment. :)

Yawn: France is a beautiful country with a long history and it has produced art and science that has been emulated all over the world. It gave the western world the concept of enlightenment and formed many of our concepts of human rights amongst other things.
Yes it also had a history of colonisation and imperialism. What country didn't? Doesn't this guy realise that most of the African Kingdoms also built empires which were built on enslaving their own people; until they were finally brought down by European countries including France.
These young French people thrashing their own country in order to try to signal that they are so right-on and politically correct, need to realise how lucky they are to have been brought up in France.
They also need to understand that the mass Muslim immigration that is happening now in a fresh wave, will destroy everything that France and other European countries have protected and developed for centuries.
You say that African or Arab is better? Really? Why are Africans and Arabs making so much effort to get into Europe? Why are Africans stuffing themselves into leaky boats and risking their lives to cross the sea just for a chance to live in France? Does anyone see Europeans going in the other direction?
They do it because Europe is a better place to live. Sorry to burst you virtue signalling bubbles, but the lands of bad old Mr Whitey have built the most open, most free, most tolerant and most advanced societies in the history of human civilisation. Africa? Not so much. You want racism and religious bigotry and ethnic hatred on an epic scale; try the Arab world or try large parts of Africa. There is I am sure bigotry in France too; but not so much.

Ryan Herich Really? What problems did France cause in Afghanistan or Pakistan or Iraq, or Sudan or Nigeria? Even in North Africa their influence was mixed. They turned Algeria into the most modern country in Africa for a period and when they left many Algerians fought for them to stay.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm not French. If you knew a little about world cultures then my name might have been a clue.
But those people fleeing Africa in those leaky boats are doing so because other Africans are running around with machetes and guns killing people for being of other ethnic groups or other religions. They are not running away from the French. They are running to France for protection and security; because it is the French and other Europeans who are willing to help them, not other African countries.
There are many Africans who want to go to France or other European countries because they want their kids to grow up in civilised countries where they do not have to be afraid all the time. They want their kids to have a stable home and a good education. They know they can find that in France.
That is why Africans migrate to France and French people do not migrate to Africa. And if the cult of Islamic savages you seem to admire were to prevail over Europe, then Africans would no longer have any safe harbour to seek refuge. But it won't. Because it is already reaching a tipping point white European countries beginning to close their borders. And when they do that, your cult of semi-literate stone-age, inbreds will be powerless. If ISIS does manage to begin the all out holy war it says it wants with Europe. Then that war will end with the Middle East in flames, Muslims being deported en-masse from Europe and Africa once again isolated.
ISIS are not a military force in any way comparable to France or Britain or Germany. They are good at terrorising and murdering innocent people. But they already fell apart within days when confronted with Russian forces. Putin has already proved what a paper tiger ISIS is. He just doesn't care that much because Islamic murder squads are not active in Russia right now. Hollande or Merkel or May could likewise wipe out ISIS with one signature. None of them will do it because they don't have the political will; but Merkel will be gone next year and Hollande the following one. And the mood in France and Germany is hardening rapidly.

This is what Mali King Gezo of Dahomey said to French emissaries pushing for the abolition of slavery.
_"Slavery is the wealth and power of our Kingdom. We will never abandon it."_
The French colonised nearly all of his empire anyway. They brought the rule of law, modern technologies of all kinds, and principles of French enlightenment and they banned slavery outright. A little further North, the British were doing the same. That is why so many smaller tribes along the so called slave coasts of west Africa supported the Europeans when they arrived.
And yes the Moors made great advances in some areas, particularly mathematics. So too did the Egyptians. They were great empires in their own times.
The Moors conquered much of Southern Europe at one point, stealing that which did not belong to them. The Zulus of Southern Africa also built an empire on the bones of their own people and slaughtered and enslaved all around them.
But you see conquest by definition the business of empire. It has nothing to do with race.
In the end the Europeans were just better at it.
Maybe you should actually read some history.
Do you even know when the mass conquest of Africa began? Here is a clue. Long after Europeans has already abolished slavery. Do you know which people were the first to abolish slavery? Another clue. It wasn't Africans. Do you know which people were the last to abolish slavery? ...... Africans; and they only did it because the Europeans forced them to.
But lets get back you your planet: Yes the French Impressionist masterpieces were all stolen from Africans. The Moors invented the auto-mobile. Michelangelo was from Mali, who'd have thought!!! and the Xhosa put the first man in space.
Did you know that the use of entire sentences in all-caps is a sign of mental instability?

Again, answer THE SIMPLE QUESTION HERE. Who invited WHITE PEOPLE TO AFRICA IN THE 1ST PLACE, YOU CLUELESS BITCH? STOP DEFLECTING & JUST ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION. Either you can refute this all-important history question OR YOU CAN'T.
And for the record, I'VE GOT MORE HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE IN MY LITTLE PINKIE THAN YOUR WHOLE FAMILY TREE PUT TOGETHER. And NO, white people did NOT ABOLISH SLAVERY. THEY JUST SUBSTITUTED SLAVERY WITH COLONISATION, WHICH PROVED TO BE JUST AS BAD, SINCE YOU WHITES STILL DID NOT LIFT A FINGER TO DO ANY OF THE BUILDING OF THE COLONIES YOURSELF.

About graffiti : it's about Charles Trenet who's lookin a bit like that. About racism in France. Well, I felt more racism in NY because my wife is asian (japanese). Black women let me felt like I m traitor. And let me tell a last thing. Before traveling around the world, I thought France is a racist country. But, it's less than all other's countries. This is the country were you can find the most elevate rate of mixed nationality weddings. Of course there's some racisme against black. But some black are racist to. Not only against whites.

I don't think these interviews were carried out properly the questions were not consistent or objective. He spoke from point of view as an american without understanding French society. It seems to me that the French place a lot on who you are culturally. When the first black man said he was born in France so he identifies as french is an example of this , he is culturally French and French by nationality . Now when he interviews the white French man he asks how do they treat African immigrants he answered the french are racists, now immigrants would be different culturally and would come up against prejudice (btw this happens in multiple countries regardless of race, heck people can be of the same race and treat immigrants to their country with discrimination). This question of how immigrants are treated is totally different to asking how it is to be black in France.

this is ridiculous, you see racism everywhere and you even invent it when there is not. For your information, the "yop la boum" drawing picture Charles Trenet which is a well known singer from 20th century, a poet, not an once of racism inside. My poor lad, you should study better before to broadcast such insanities.

So this young lady does not see herself black but she has a Jamaican background she identifies herself as white but can visibly see that Paris does have a racist background towards those who are of African descent. Most of the people interviewed that were "African" seem to be naive of the fact that racism follows us everywhere, it does not matter that Paris may seem a accepting... the cartoons displayed evidently gave me a different view

I can understand this but she did not declare what neighborhood per say she was from except the fact that she was raised by an all white family. I find that this post is disturbing as you are stereotyping african americans in the portrait of movies and not seen as a whole. France is pretty big but damn as sure has a nice population of blacks where she can distinguish reality and what is in the movies.

@@beforeyourimmigrants8471 Are you from Sweden? And African where? The only biggest complaint is the mass intake of refugees which I agree with because they are highly prioritized when it comes to welfare and housing whiles it can take up to 5-10 years for us to get a first-hand contract for an apartment and welfare to be taken away from some people who really have it tuff. So yeah, I agree with them completely. Some won't even bother to learn Swedish, get a job or learn how the system works.
Americans ARE way obsessed with race than Swedish people. Have you seen a Swed travelling to a foreign country asking racial questions to citizens? I, my family and other people I know have been putting it with dumb ass stereotypical and racial questions whether it's from white Americans or black Americans.

I would agree that there is way more racism in America than in France, however, I will say that people quickly pick up on my accent, which would probably buff off the racism because French people (for the most part) are obsessed with America, our people and our culture.

Im gonna say it now as well , I never suffered from racism here even tho I grew up in the "banlieue" were there is presumably a lot of racism , well I never saw it or was affected by it .
