@@the-stig-nickname it's based on the S65 from the E92, but pretty significantly changed. The P65B44 in this car has a flat plane crank, which is the biggest change.
2:34 is probably the best part along with the traction control kicking in. Guy has a strange driving style though, he really likes to let the car slide into understeer.
I'm not sure that is the TCS, I believe it is the Race ABS system as he is under brakes. Or even driveline chatter due to the locked rear brakes when coming into the corner.
1st Person Farm it’s both ABS and the drivetrain you hear, because the wheels want to lock up. Straight cut serquential gearboxes do not like that. TC is that crackling sound in the background when he is going on throttle.
I sometimes do that understeer thing in racing sims. I've taken to calling it "riding the understeer" You can steer the car with throttle at the absolute edge of available grip and it keeps tires temps from going down on some tracks at the price of wear.
I remember an interview with Claudia Hürtgen from back when this car was competing and she was a BMW works driver at the time. She talked about how you had to throw the car into the corner with way to much steering lock or do this kind of "sawing" motion with the wheel in order to maximize the grip of the tires. Fernando Alonso had a very similiar driving style in the Renault R25 and R26 actually.

We did Brazilian GT and later FIA GT Series and Blancpain GT Series, you can find these races here on TH-cam. In 2017 we sold the car on the video, chassi 1014 to it's current owner, the guy on the video. You can see some pictures on my Instagram @bruno_nazza.

What's that odd noise in the engine note in the lower revs whilst on throttle? You can hear it clearly at 8:42 . At first I thought it was the traction control bit that has a more distinctive fast popping sound
Car wet dreams are made of this. Plenty of movement in the trouser there. I'd constantly be reaching for the wrong shift lever in that beast (sorry about the nasty visual)!
blackbird sr-71 pneumatic paddle shift on the steering wheel. The gearbox is serquential, so it means you dont need to use the clutch to go up or go down the gears, you can just keep your foot hard on the throttle pedal, or brake pedal.

the AMG GT3 sounds pretty damn good as well, of course it doesn't rev as high, but it has that deep NA VA grumble

I agree, that's the ABS probably for that timestamp. But there are definitely moments where he's hitting TCS.

Thats the whining of the straight cut teeth in the serquential gearbox. Makes a hell of a lot of noice when you’re in the car.
