Thank you so much for sharing your Parkrun adventure!, Nic!! Your positive energy and detailed descriptions really brought the experience to life. It was great to see how much you enjoyed the beautiful weather, the stunning scenery, and the friendly community. Congrats to Edward on his PB too! Looking forward to seeing more of your running adventures. Keep up the great work!
Oh YES!!!! Great to see Ian, limbering up…cap, sunnies 😎 and red trainers. Linda also!!!!!! All wrapped up for summer Maryport and Silloth might be the windiest park runs!
Great to see Maryport getting some well deserved coverage. I am not from Maryport but it’s a really friendly town. The wave centre has Clip and climb which is great for kids. Maryport has an amazing Aquarium; it’s quality! Good maritime museum and a Roman fort- it’s sort of the true end of Hadrian’s wall. If you do a parkrun and want a well earned ice cream- Twennymen’s in Allonby is just a short drive north along the beautiful coast! Greatly video thanks
Thanks, we went to Allonby and played on the beach for hours! 😃 The Wave Centre seemed closed for a refurb or something as we saw the clip and climb sign but there was so much fencing up around it ATM 🤔 We went back later I'm the week and did a van camp in Maryport as we'd loved it so much! 😍
Awwww, what a little legend she is. That wasn't an easy run! The funny thing is that I bet that is a light breeze. I can imagine, especially in winter, that the course can be wild! Anyway, we loved it. Huge congratulations to your mini parkrunner, Poppy loved getting her 10 t-shirt although white perhaps isn't the best colour for kids 🤣🤣🤣
Ah, to run at sea level again! Pretty cool run and I bet that wind was difficult to run in. Once in a while I get a run like that and I try to tuck in behind someone, but that looks like a pretty small ParkRun. It reminded me of a 10K race I did this March and I had 30 - 40 mph winds at my back for the first half and then had to swallow my pride and run into it on the way back. There was absolutely no cover, so I had to suffer through it. What a beautiful area to run in though. As always, love your videos and your road trips.
Thanks Eddie 😊 Lol to swallow your pride, there's nothing you can do but just try your best when it's like that with the wind is there?! I remember at Morecambe Prom parkrun just laughing so much with Poppy as we really couldn't run. It was such hard work so we moved as quickly as we could from object we could hide behind to object we could hide behind. It was hard to even breathe 🤣 We absolutely loved it and remember it always. Battling the elements always makes me feel so alive! 😃
I think I’ve finally caught up with all your parkrun videos now, Nicola, after watching your video featuring Miller Park in Preston yesterday I thought I would have a look to see if there is a Forwood Park. Apparently, there is a Forwood Preserve Park in Wilmington, Delaware, USA so you will have to get some of our American cousins to set you one up there ! 😆 PS I am having difficulty finding it on Google at the moment
Yes, the volunteers are very laid back there! We had the same experience when we ran there 18 months ago, a gaggle of anxious tourists all concerned that it might have been cancelled, until the volunteers suddenly appeared with the start sign, etc. with about 10 minutes to go! A bit of stress isn't such a bad thing, as I ran what is still my fastest time since the restart! It also helped that there was no wind that day.
This reminds me of when I did a very windy Fleetwood Prom parkrun - there was no-one around at 5-to-9 , but everyone appeared about 30secs before the start! Thanks for the video Nicola
o wow that looks a good one just watched another you tuber called Grant who was at Penrith park run same as you on saturday and that looks amazing defo a to do that one
"I see the sea, the sea sees me!" Well done battling that wind Nicola 💪 I've planned two trips with some good trail parkruns in September. One for the alliterative Faskally Forest and Talkin Tarn. And all being well, the formidable Woolacombe Dunes on the other.
Did you go to muncaster castle park run while you were up there? Iam regularly at Ravenglass,so would take opportunity to drive up to Maryport to do this👍

I've definitely done some difficult parkruns on the west coast! The wind is crazy! It was hard to move forwards at all when we did Morecambe Prom 🤣
I love Maryport Prom - so beautiful! But the wind is hard going! Great video - Thank you. And well done Edward 👏
Thanks 🤗 A huge PB for Edward 🎉🎉🎉 He was so happy! 😊

Thank you for cheering on my daughter on her 10th Parkrun (Not counting Juniors ^^). Hope you enjoyed the "light breeze" of the Prom parkrun.

Ooh... That would definitely be a tempting parkrun trip if that were to start! 😃😃😃

Wow I can't imagine it with no wind! 🤣 There's something really lovely about the simplicity of a pop-up parkrun isn't there?! 😃
What a nice posh voice Ricky Lee McKay.
Thanks for visiting. Really pleased you enjoyed our prom parkrun and hope the teacakes went down well. Come again soon xx
Thanks, I absolutely loved it! 😃😃😃

Thanks Geoff, they're like pop-up parkruns aren't they?! 😃😃😃

Talking Tarn I've not done but I LOVED the other two 😃
Thanks for coming and enjoying it! Video is great :-)
Thanks so much Ricky 😃 Absolutely loved it!
I almost went there, but left it a bit late, so went to Talkin Tarn instead.
Booooo... But I bet you still had a great time 😊
Good wee video. Done that a few years ago and enjoyed it. Was faster then too 😂
Thanks 🤗 I loved it!
You are hilarious madam , you may have heard this already 🤣🤣
Oh, lol, which bit?! 🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈
Did you go to muncaster castle park run while you were up there?
Iam regularly at Ravenglass,so would take opportunity to drive up to Maryport to do this👍
No, next time 😃 there's not enough Saturdays for all of these parkruns! 🙃🤣
Are you famous enough due to TH-cam that you get recognised at different parkruns? 😀
Lol, every now and then someone will ask to have a selfie 🤭
Idea for a new series - describe your hair and give it a rating. Call it Nicola's Hair Tier. "It's whipping my eyes and I'm eating it" 2/10
This made me laugh so much 🤣🤣🤣 it's brilliant 😂
