I did my first ever half marathon at the Eden project 14 years ago. I remember how hilly it was, and how exhausting I found it. One of the best race ‘goodie bags’ ever though, a free pasty and a pint! I was so grateful for them 🤩
What a cool place! I think this is the 3rd or 4th video I've seen on Eden Park. I'd love to visit -- hopefully one day my travels will take me to Cornwall. I also didn't realize that it was a converted clay mine -- great use for what would've been a scarred landscape. I want to go to Port Isaac as well. I am glad you and Poppy got a chance to spend the entire day there. You definitely put your free entry to use. I hadn't considered that the height at the top would be so humid. Pretty amazing. I've got Cornwall penciled in on my bucket list, hopefully one day I'll take the initiative and get there. As always, love your videos and Poppy seems to be getting so much better at her dances.
Awww Poppy is obsessed with dancing! 😃 Cornwall is beautiful 🤩 and I quite agree that it's such an awesome use of the clay mine! Oh my goodness the temperature and humidity at the top of the dome was insane! Poppy and I were crazily hot 🥵🥵🥵 I hope you get to visit the Eden Project one day, I'm sure you'll love it! 😍
I loved this one when i visited, definitely in my top 5. I got a tour of the biomes and high platform from the CEO and did the half marathon, it was a brill weekend
thank you for showing the viewers around i loved seening it from home do not think i could climb those steps to the top my number 1 park run at the moment is Sewerby and will be doing that again on the 5th October and may be 28th December
Wow so pleased you came to Cornwall and Eden Project one of my favourites. Penrose,Heartlands and Lands Ends great as well as obviously all Cornish parkruns.Obviously biased being Cornish.Loving the channel and you must visit again
Thanks so much! 🤗 I freedom ran at Land's End, Lanhydrock, Mount Edgcumbe, Penrose, Tamar Trails plus a few others I can't remember off the top of my head. You certainly have some stunners down there! 😍😍😍
@@hilfoster ooh... Have you done Mount Edgcumbe? I'm desperate to do that! I reckon it's a Top 10 parkrun but I've not been there on a Saturday yet... 🙃 What were your plans? I'm pleased you enjoyed the video 🤗
Looks fantastic! Certainly doesn't look like a PB route ;-) Going to have to visit Cornwall again - not always a first choice for us as the weather always seems to misbehave when we are there!
You've brought back many happy memories of my visits to the Eden Project and the one parkrun we did there. It's such an inspirational venue. Although when we ran I didn't know you got free entry and had already pre-booked tickets as a family of five. I wasn't upset though as just so enjoyed the run. As it's a changeover day for lots of accommodation, Saturdays are also one of their quieter days. The high observation platform is new since I was there, so might need another Cornish holiday to visit again.
That looks absolutely stunning! Love the crazy zig zag course! Shame it's such a long way away from the North East but one I'd definitely love to do. Thanks for another great video!
I’ve been looking forward to this video ever since I heard you mention it on the latest WMN pod. Great video, I so want to go now. It is just so far to go for me, maybe one day. 🤞 Thanks for uploading! 👍
I've honestly wanted to go for AGES but I couldn't justify the distance until I was making it into a holiday so I definitely feel you. It's super far from pretty much everywhere 🙈🤣 but I hope I've convinced you that it's definitely worth it! 😍😍😍
Awwww this makes me so happy! 😃 I really hope you get good weather and have a brilliant time. I'm really happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for taking the time to share your positivity 🥰
Happy belated birthday. 🎉 I am back in UK for a couple of weeks holiday. Might go to one of the Worcester Parkruns this Saturday. Now in Devon, absolutely loving being back.
This parkrun looks absolutely epic! I can see why it would make your top 3 (which may or may not number more than 3! 😂). Love the picture of how it used to look and you really couldn't imagine more of a contrast compared to what it is now, an exemplary paragon of sustainability and biodiversity. Congrats to all those involved in developing it and here's hoping more projects like this can be implemented. The fact you even have people ziplining across the sky is just the icing on the cake! Happy birthday Nicola! 🎉 Thanks for this great video of Eden Project parkrun.
We visited Cornwall (St Austell area)a few years back but it was before Eden parkrun started (also at that time I didn't plan holidays around parkrun lol) Defo one for to go back for
Love it, not sure I could have made it up the wobbly stairs, think I'd have dropped me never mind my phone. Lucked out with the weather, so glad you had such an epic birthday parkrun x PS I think RD Paul is my new favourite RD ever lol what a 🌟
Isn't Paul just awesome! I thought he was absolutely brilliant too 😃 I must admit that the stairs did make my tummy feel a bit funny which was a surprise. I think as I get older I get a bit more wary of heights! 😳😱🙃
Well done 👏 I did Eden parkrun last year and I also would put it in my top 3 best parkruns ever! They also hold half and full marathons from Eden Project in Mid October time, which I highly recommend.
Awww thanks but it's so far I think it'll be a while before we tackle that drive again! Racing there sounds awesome though! 😎 What else is in your top 3 out of interest? 😃
@NicolaRuns My other 2 favourite Parkruns are Conwy Parkrun - for it's amazing view of Conwy Castle on route and Hastings Parkrun as I got my pb there.
Another fantastic video, Nicola. I did it on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend in 2022. Unfortunately, it rained during the run but at least it wasn’t as crowded as that makes things tricky with some narrow paths. Next time I’m down there I want to run at Trelissick & Plym Valley which are both beautiful wooded courses that I checked out when I went down to run at Tamar Trails & Lands End parkruns in May.
Good stuff and great video. That’s our minds made up now… we’re off in our parents camper van next month. You said you stayed about 3 miles away?? Can I ask where and would you recommend? Thanks
We had the spot to ourselves after the sun had set and we didn't have any trouble. You'd only manage it in a campervan but if that's what you're in then drop me a DM on Instagram or Facebook and I'll send you the pin. It was literally a 3 minute drive! 😃
Bere Island and Fountains Abbey but Holyrood is only just outside my top 3, and Crosby as I LOVE Gormley! There's loads of other stunners but Eden Project was just absolutely incredible 😍
This parkrun so has to be no 1 as its got so much going on and to see. I loved it and I loved you video of it - thank you for sharing.
You're so welcome! It's definitely up there! Proper parkrun bucket list material! 😍😍😍 We absolutely loved it! 😃

I can't imagine doing a half there although it's such an awesome place to run around so I bet it was beautiful 😍
@@NicolaRuns despite the toughness of the race, I didn’t give up on running as a hobby, so the beauty must’ve helped ;-)
