Hey there shroom! Good work, hope you catch bigger fish there man. Your my best fishing tip guy ever. One of my friends saw you and took a pick with you at meadowBank. Love you man❤
A little tip if you chasing leather jackets you need to use tiger prawns they don't like many other prawns, you'll have great success with tiger prawns guaranteed, other prawns you can fish all day for ljs they won't go near them
Keep up the good work Shroom. I've caught plenty of jackets off that exact wharf (about 15yrs ago though lol), used to use a single hook paternoster rig with a small pea sinker and a size 10 longshank. Small piece of peeled prawn (eg 3-4 baits from those size prawns you were using) dropped right down along the pylons. Best trick i found was not to strike when they started nibbling, just slowly lift the rod and that seemed to get the best hookup rate. Small squid strips sometimes worked (and stayed on the hook much longer) as well, but peeled prawn def best bet.
Sounds good Daleyboy! It looked very slow on the leatherjacket front that day but it's something I want to try again. I'll have to try with smaller pieces of prawns as well, that might be a good idea!
I know where this is, haven't been there in year's. Use to catch big bream and a few jewies but i think it's kinda dead nowadays. Keep up the good work Shroombo
bro loving these videos, but crazy idea you should do a small series chasing a kingfish on bait land based. It would be a good challenge and would make for some great videos as you will have a larger goal in mind. Even though kingfish season is ending it hopefully wont discourage you as it will make the end even more satisfying. This is a good idea unless you know for sure how to get a king on bait already which would make it too easy, But I personally only chase kings on bait when I go and its not easy I only get 1 for every 4 trips also lose many. Tight lines and once again loving the bait fishing vids.
Thanks Hash, I have been thinking about it. I haven't chased kings this year/season but in past years I have when they have been plentiful. Still I want to do a video about it if the opportunity arises again because it's awesome fun
I love basic videos like this pls post more like this and a tip for fishing for leather jackets are sabikis with a small sinker and the prawns your using Good video Thanks
You won't find them in Sydney city. There's ones that look like black bream which could be black bream species but unless it's genetically tested it's hard to say for sure
Awesome video shroom! Recently me and my mates created a small fishing business, and we were wondering if we could send you some lures for completely free to try out and give us some feedback. Thanks
@@ShroomFishing start 2 weeks off on Monday mate . Looking forward to trying a few spots that I don't normally fish . But definitely will be going to the canal at Iron Cove a few times . 👍✔🎣
I like using Zman grubs for bream and small 3inch paddle tails for flathead. Kingfish will hit all sorts of lures including them too but depends what sort of gear you are running and method/terrain of trying to catch them
İ have had shit day yesterday ,my motor break down under captain cook bridge and hit the rocks , I was about to flip over and thanks water police came and save me yesterday, there were to much actions
Do you like a smooth braid Alan? Try the Gosen 8 Casting in 14lb (0.6PE). If you like one that's not so smooth (not rough) but is reliable (doesn't wind knot easily) and ties strong knots, try Sunline Castaway 10lb
@@ShroomFishing I'm not overly familiar with braid as i usually bait fish using mono, i have watched your vids and listened to all your podcasts. Just was wondering which braid to go with, it's alot easier choosing a good mono it seems
@@alanfiddick1887 True Alan, there's a million brands of braid. Actually, I'm going to recommend a good first braid to learn off. Go for a braid in the 20-40 dollar bracket. You will lose some line to tangles most definitely as a first timer using braid. Maybe a Berkley X3 or Powerpro braid or Shimano Kairiki 4weave would be good. Strong and/or affordable
Lets just appreciate the amount of work put into these videos! 👏

Which warf is that?
Lol I brought my mates who r new to fishing to this exact spot with prawn baits the other week, only got them onto baby bream and whiting however
Haha nice one Daniel. What are the chances of that? Good to see they got onto some fish
Nice job, fresh prawn, bit of burley, way to go, a few fish.
It felt like learning how to fish from scratch again haha
I like it! Shroom getting back to basics with some old-school bait tactics. PS: I've landed 30kg Mulloway and 1.5kg Bream using cut baits 😉
Thanks Sun Seeker! That's crazy good, I hope to one day come up tight to monsters like that

I agree but catch or even hooking a king land based on bait is way more thrilling then on a boat.
And I only suggested this because I can see the effort rise going into these videos. So keep up the great work!!
Hi mate, thanks for sharing another great video😊Bobs your uncle. And Mary’s your Aunt 😂
True that Des! I think I need to get back into the sunlight and film a day session again haha
