Don't worry about the millennial opinions. You are a credit for teaching body work to the ones who don't know. I have been doing my body work the exact same way you do for 30+ years, my teacher was my father (old school baby)
💯✊Listen to this 1 fellas, a guy on [Clunkers And Classics] channel good channel BTW! In the comments today told the guy Lee whatever he does do not mix bondo on cardboard it will ruin the car. 😂 It was an old pizza box he was using, so I said to him it's ok to put millions of pizzas in the cardboard boxes but whatever you do do not mix bondo on it. 🤔 sick people 🤣 Old Skool all day long baby !!! Pete does it right Woooooooo 😉✌
I don't comment on very much at all until someone tells someone they're a hack, that really passes people off that do the exact same thing Pete and Minnie do. People need to step back and take a closer look at themselves before saying things like hack.
I like the videos that show real time, how we learn. Some creators time lapse each task but you don't see how anything is done that way. Little tips and tricks get left out. Thanks for what you do! You nailed alot of points for me, I have also been told I'm old school and no one does that anymore. F em!
@@diyautoschool When you lay into the internet knuckleheads or the tell the real facts about "idiot proof" products that is what people need to hear. Back when I was working in body shops I priced those Street Beasts kits, the price was high but they were a quality shell. You building 478 of them AND many other builds should tell viewers the level of experience they're dealing with. At $50k per Beast that's $24 MILLION. I especially appreciate how you expose the state of product shmuckery today. The last car I painted left me with sticker shock, even the jobbers are charging insane prices today. Your friend paul is 7 minutes in and I’m reminded why I follow my friend Pete and Minnie …. I like the real life sharing and motivation to continue on my new project nova …. I ve followed the rust-ang from day one and Pete is clearly a master . Anyone new or like me over 50 ish , and aren’t tech savvy , go to Pete’s playlists , and go back and watch lessons on several nice cars Pete has done .

Man Pete I think you do an awesome job can’t thank you enough for all your expert advice. I’m just a diy guy painted 5 or 6 cars over the last 30 years I know it’s nothing compared to what you do.
Dear Pete just want to say thank you for your videos and all of your teaching my father used to do custom paint and body work he passed away when I was young I never got a chance to learn all of this even though he was trying to teach us so I greatly greatly appreciate your videos and your knowledge thank you so much for showing us the way and the time that it takes to do things right
Great Job Pete! You are Old School And I am too! Great Explanation on your Videos! Let’s pray Auto Shop is put back into Schools! Being creative is the Backbone of our great Nation!
I’ve learned quite a bit from you over the years. I did a complete repaint job on my 2013 charger 2 years ago. Very first car I’ve ever touched as far as body and paint. All because of you. So, don’t let these trolls get to you dude, in the grand scheme of things, there nobody’s. Thanks for all you do 👍
This video inspired me to go out to my garage and start hacking on my car! I must be old too because his way of doing things is the way I was taught how to do things. Keep up the good work Pete! I enjoy your videos!

Your not a hack ! Your a very informative tool to help people that want to diy . You have taught me a valuable lesson on the bondo method. Thanks a lot!
The fine art of making things level, I painted my first car years ago, sure learnt alot, from what works to welding to getting things straightened to the best of my ability. Even making bondo without pin holes etc, honestly old talent like this takes years

Hey pete. Great job on showing the guys the right way how to get Herr done. I learned this same way how to do this in college believe me it works people no short cuts. Hey pete you did it in 99 min. this is friggen hilarious...hes pissed off the entire time like theres someone annoying him but hes alone...hahahah...love it. Its exactly like working with my dad..
As somebody who falls into the category of millenial ('94) and also owns several classic vehicles (late 60's), this information is invaluable. I've been turned down at least half-a-dozen times by body shops. The moment I mention cutting and welding, they won't touch it. So, here I am learning how to do it myself, the correct way. Subscribed with notifications on!
Its likely due to most body shops being centered around collision work. Their business models dont account for restoration type work. the rates are different, the process for estimation are different, lots of the materials, sources for parts, and repair procedures are different, and workflow is different. Sure, the technicians are capable, but the business itself isnt structured to accommodate for those types of jobs. especially corporate types. you might find a solid independent collision shop that can fit it in, though.
PETE, You are one of the finest body men in the business. Take it from a bodyman from the 60s. Your finished projects are as nice as any to be found today. LOL I use to suggest the same to Pete years ago about the yelling and cussing. I have come to the conclusion Pete might be high strung with his opinions, but fair... Let him vent as he works. In the meantime he displays his talent while sharing his knowledge from his lifetime of accumulated knowledge, mostly from 'The School of Hard Knocks' . By the end of the videos he feels better by your friendship of listening, as he shared his teaching. He truly is My Friend Pete. Phillip Hall
What’s up Pete!!! Thanks for all the helpful life changing tips over the years to save us money brother! The plastik honey in body filler works sooo good. I was one of those that bought those expensive body fillers because they spread a lot easier but I use hi tek now with some honey in there spreads amazing. The more fill I need the less honey. If I’m skim coating or filling pin holes I use more honey. It’s cut out the need for glazing putty. Thanks man!

I learned so much today! You surely know how to sink in information! Good stuff cause I’m in the midst of fixing some rust repair on my truck! Don’t feel like spending $1500 to pay someone for $200 in materials and 2 days of work.
@D.I.Y. AUTO SCHOOL If you were restoring this car later on down the road or got this car after someone did that nice body work, would you remove the bondo and start over or leave it and paint over it? trying to figure out if you would take the car down to bare metal and remove the old bondo?
Pete I bought aftermarket fenders because I had drilled a hole into one of mine for a snorkel and then went a different route, I ended up having to get the one on the other side so they both matched the hood the same. Now that I have more tools and knowledge I want to put those fenders back on after I repair them. Aftermarket stuff doesn't line up or match with OEM FAFO edit: PS they both came dented and I was able to get my money back and repaired them.

@D.I.Y. AUTO SCHOOL If you were restoring this car later on down the road or got this car after someone did that nice body work, would you remove the bondo and start over or leave it and paint over it? trying to figure out if you would take the car down to bare metal and remove the old bondo?
Your videos is grate I have Learned A lot from you thanks man
Well said Pete my back file (radack)just took a shit it was only about 40 years old air operation lol maybe I’ll rebuild it and not throw it away 😮😮
I like the long videos Pete, great job as usual 👍
You always do great work Pete
Your doin it right Pete ...
Ronco Matic, gotta love it!
Been learning a lot from your videos. Thank you❤
