This song was my big brother's favourite song he loves this band so much, like he really loves them from the bottom of his heart, you would always talk about this band to your bandmates and your friends and how you really want to meet them, sadly, you aren't here anymore and I really wish you could hear their new record, I'm sure you're gonna love it. fuckk, I really wish you're doing up there brother, you could've been 24 now...

I can tell you that I listen to all kinds of genre of music and at the end of the day what really matters is that the song/music is good and enjoyable. This song is cool and you dont have to be an emo to like this. Oh btw dont judge people for what they are. Just listen and Enjoy or leave
No matter how much I try to deny it, I always come back to "emo" music. It's my opinion that emotions are the main driving force behind music. I love death metal and all kinds of other music, but at the end of the day you need something you can relate to, and listening to a song about performing an autopsy or raping hell whores with a thorned cock only goes so far; songs that excite feelings we all can relate to stick with us. Then again, it all depends on the mood we are in. For example, this song reinforces my convictions about my morality and what I believe in, and in this particular moment, I needed a song like this to amp me up in that respect. "I would rather die for what I believe, than live without meaning." Given that the members of the band might be religious, and I am not, I still interpret the essential meaning of the song; which is stand by your beliefs and live for something other than yourself.
Just saw these guys open for blessthefall, super energetic set with an all around kick ass performance. Also, lead singer crowd surfed to the bar to take a shot and back to the stage, singing the whole way. That was dope. Hope to see you guys again sometime!
My friend is in it!! She's the one who enters first when they open the door!! She attends their shows all the time and she's a photographer! Ahaha! Nice!
Never in my life have I seen a music video with raw spiritual energy, wisdom beyond means, and a passion of expressing the deep philosophical mysteries of mankind's own cyclical miseres never more clearly expressed and I am fan of my selected group of bands. I will say it TWA I am proud that I have this song on my phone. I wish you can produce more of such deep meaning songs in your future albums :)
The bands latest album called REAL had Luke's drumming in it and there's a lot more flavor in that record drumming wise. With that being said, that album in general was only okay in my opinion. Life Cycles and The Deceiver were their best albums in my opinion and Luke wasn't even in the band then.
+Zach lovett FR! the word alive is such an amazing band. They can go to screamo or basic punk rock. I have yet to hear a song i don't like. i have three twa shirts and have yet to see them in concert. I love these guys!! but forget the haters they're great.
Here's some food for thought, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. If you don't like someone's music then you don't have to listen to it. People work hard on the music they make and the word alive is a huge inspiration. Luke Holland is a kick ass drummer which is why this is the second year he is nominated for best drummer on the APMA awards. I'm so tired of the negative comments. If you don't like the music they make now, nobody really cares. And no I'm not a little fan girl. Their music inspires me with the lyrics they write. That's why I am defending them.
Such a HYPE song man. This was/is a *Masterpiece* so much talent and passion. It's a timeless classic if you will bc it a very well written song(easy/generic to play as most are that hit this level)...its got the great vocals, melodic sound, the groove, vibes, and relatable lyrics, need I say more? It's *NEVER* to late to change your life, life's to short do what YOU want and believe in.
The words this man, Telle, speaks mean so much. I'm not a big Word Alive fan but wow, I hope to be an inspiring figure someday who has an impact and not your average dull mundane American middle-class individual.
I like a lot of these new age Post-Hardcore/Metalcore bands ie.Memphis May Fire, Crown the Empire, We Came as Romans, Upon This Dawning, Secrets, Like Moths to Flames, I See Stars, etc. but I feel like The Word Alive shines more than the majority of their peers. Not only is Telle a terrific frontman, but his lyrics and vocals, along with the band's music, are more memorable than the likes of MMF, LMTF, Secrets, and so on. There's a passion and feeling that TWA has that I don't find in many other bands of their type except for The Color Morale.
It's actually sick how much Telle's singing has improved too. He's a beast at screams at a great clean vocalist as well. Talented af. Can't wait to see them live 12th of May !
From 2013 to now, This was an epic changing point. This had just the right sound to make you feel powerful and blissful. And just gives you an overall "king" feeling
I got in trouble in class because, I was listening to this song and I screamed out "I'D RATHER DIE FOR WHAT I BELIEVE THAN LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT MEANING!" lmao.
At first I thought, it's another of these soft boy groups, but when I listened more to them, I realized that they are perfectly in between, Heavy breakdowns and beautiful melodic choruses. They are so much better than I thought.
Just got this recommended by an Amity Affliction fan and listened cause i am aswell and this is the first recommendation in youtube comments ever that totally hit my preferences. Amazing song instant goosebumps

love this band this video was the same show I got to see in St . Louis they are amazing live!
I remember when this came out I was jamming it so hard. It's been so long since I've listened to this. Where has the time gone smh
One of the best songs ever created
These guys and For Today are the only heavy metal bands that has ever really impressed me, and ive listened to a lot of heavy metal bands.
You haven't listened to Crown the Empire then.
Yeah, The World Alive and For Today are Heavy Metal bands. You are good with musical genres dude !
***** Obviously, my response was irony lol
" Heavy Metal" LMAO
This isn't Metal.
And now that I'm older I'm now realizing how much this song means to me
My friend is in it!! She's the one who enters first when they open the door!! She attends their shows all the time and she's a photographer! Ahaha! Nice!
i miss this song .
Holy mother of pearl, why am i only hearing these guys now! Instant love
one of my favorite music videos ever!
The scream at 3:19 is so epic .Glad i found out this band
Luke holland should make a band where his drumming skills are actually put to use
Maybe you should go listen to some other songs where his skills are actually used
I would love to, tell me a few. I'm absolutely serious. I'm trying to get into this, at least to appreciate luke holland in a band...
Eduardo Navarro pretty much the whole Real. album because that was the first album he written and recorded
The bands latest album called REAL had Luke's drumming in it and there's a lot more flavor in that record drumming wise. With that being said, that album in general was only okay in my opinion. Life Cycles and The Deceiver were their best albums in my opinion and Luke wasn't even in the band then.
I agree with you they least should pick a new drummer
At 2:38 it changes from music video into an energy drink commercial
TinyFriedEggs XD
I remember this tour... I come back here every so often. Song means the world to me.
Damn.. most of you hating on these kids WISH you could rock like this, keep it up AWA, very talented, you can only get better!
+Zach lovett These "kids", Telle (singer) is like 28 or something xD
+Marius Duaas oh, they look like teenagers haha, either way great band!
+Zach lovett FR! the word alive is such an amazing band. They can go to screamo or basic punk rock. I have yet to hear a song i don't like. i have three twa shirts and have yet to see them in concert. I love these guys!! but forget the haters they're great.
+Zach lovett And they're not teens haha look at their "The Runaway" video its more recent than this one. They've really matured in looks since this.
+Olivia Flanders *cough* Metalcore. How the hell are they punk also. There is no punk in here at all, same with screamo.
Cadê a geração BR???? HUUUUUUUU. Traz uma vibe boa demais esse som, manos! ♪
"I'd rather die for what I believe
Than live a life without meaning"♪
Aqui mano
Eae porra
eae caralhoooooooo
Eae o pai vai tatua essa frase
2019 and still gave me goosebumps
The words this man, Telle, speaks mean so much. I'm not a big Word Alive fan but wow, I hope to be an inspiring figure someday who has an impact and not your average dull mundane American middle-class individual.
Found out about these guy at LOL worlds 2018 and They were amazing! Gj Guys!
LOL xKYNGx definitely check out their Deceiver album next ! it’s my personal favorite !!
me too. nice.
gah! I always have a new favorite band every month....August its TWA for me...this song though got me head banging at work \,,/
You mean \m/
alfie...65 no I mean \,,/
wow, you must have either tiny middle fingers or really spindly end ones
alfie...65 n so what if I do..hmmm 😿
Lol dude same here :)
It took 7 years for this song to apply to me. I was brought to tears. It's not the end.
Look at all the emo kids…they had no idea they were in the good times era
The old days are always the good days. As time passes, we realize all the negativity that fills the world
Facts
An era much different than bar pippin neighbor robbing lost souls.. this is it, here. Mosh pit made me feel so alive, these words are so truth
Its still around. It's just full of douchebags.
Speaking as a member.
Edit: Oh shit sorry.
NOW THAT I'M OLDER!
Listening to this bring me back to high school, this We came as Roman’s, Emmure, upon a burning body, famous last words, Etc was my everyday playlist.
This is amazing I just started listening to them... Any songs I should listen to?
I've screamed this live with him so many times. Fucking epic.
4x4 I did it the other night. Four years fucking later, still epic!
Can't wait to once again then =>
"I'd rather die for what I believe, Than live a life without meaning." I got that tattooed on my arm thanks to this song. it's completely true

It's actually sick how much Telle's singing has improved too. He's a beast at screams at a great clean vocalist as well. Talented af. Can't wait to see them live 12th of May !
have fun tomorrow. I wish I could be there
From 2013 to now, This was an epic changing point. This had just the right sound to make you feel powerful and blissful. And just gives you an overall "king" feeling
2024 stay in here 😂 👇
2025!🎉
Is there a limit to the number of times that you can hit the replay button? Like and favorite!!!
I've been listening to this song lot lately whenever I feel drained it brings me back where my head needs to be.
Same
I just discovered you guys! You are literally AMAZING
I feel both happy and sorry for those just now hearing this.
Beautiful video to a perfect song.
Just got this recommended by an Amity Affliction fan and listened cause i am aswell and this is the first recommendation in youtube comments ever that totally hit my preferences. Amazing song instant goosebumps
Glad I was into this music in my teenage years. They fucking slap so many years later.
Can’t believe i was apart of this 11 years later..
Now is it your words that are alive or the word of God huh ,,, cuz the word is in me and I'm alive praise the Lord Christ King Jesus
Just amazing so beautiful!xo
I love this song 🎧🎶🎶❤️_❤️👌👏
I like them cause they aren't just about screaming like most metal core bands. So you can understand at least 70% of what they are saying.
BR sempre presente 2021, completamente eclético nos meus gostos mas o rock me domina desde criança

I'm really sorry for my younger self for not finding this gem
