    I've got to give them kudos for the shielding around the RF output section. I wish all transceivers had that.

    How do you clean the corrosive glue off the PCB? Does spritzing a patch with the GC solvent soften the glue enough to be able to simply pull it off? Reason I ask is that solvent might be something you wouldn't want to get near plastic parts.

      Dino Papas hello down here I use METHYLATED SPIRITS it’s iso alcohol with acetone and some other solvents. It works really well and I e not had any plastic problems with it. The % of the additives is not great enough to affect plastic but it does get rid of the glue on the board. With the ferrites etc I do what mike does and desolder and drop in the same but I add a bit more acetone.

    How do i turn rf power down on ssb?

  • @andreaspersson1886
    @andreaspersson1886 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice Radio, I have one too...! But there are some problems...: If I turn RF Gain at the front to minimum, the volume on Am and Fm mode turns down a little bit, not in SSB modes... The build in SWR meter at 1 watt rf power; one bar. At 10 watt rf power; 5 bars. Yes, I recalibrating the meter each time, and I use dummy load that I know working 100% The last issue, power consumption... 4.5A at TX, 10 watt out.
    Is there any one out there who can help me? Thanx!!

    What about the clear silicone glue?

    • @stevewayne1480
      @stevewayne1480 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      GC makes a similar product for silicone coatings called "Print Kote Solvent" Part No. 22-209
      www.gcelectronics.com/order/SubCatPDF/thinners%20Solvents%20Coatings%2055-56.pdf
      Might be worth a try on silicone glue.

    Hello friend, I have a President Lincoln Mk1, that when turning it on for the first time it takes some time to show the frequency of work, I explain myself better, the screen turns on but it does not show me the numerals, and after 5 minutes they appear, but that happens only when the radio has several days off, I imagine it can be some capacitor, you could help me to repair this fault. Greetings from Venezuela

      My guess is the channel selector fails.
