I've done both Hornblower and Maid of the Mist I personally think Maid of the Mist has a silghty better bang for the buck because you get the boat ride and after boat ride you can go to the Crows Nest right at the base of the American Falls and then can View the American Falls from the Observation Deck above for no extra cost and its only a $ 1.25 US to due just the Crows Nest and Observation Deck if a person decides to skip the boat ride Hornblower its just the boat ride
That is good to know, I've not been on the US side looking at the falls for about 10 years next time I go over (possibly soon), I'll try the maid of the mist out too
@NigelHay I always try to do both sides when I go up to Niagara Falls I'm only in Ohio not to far at all I don't do every attraction lol I usally pick 1 or 2 on either side I mostly just walk from Terrapin Point all the way to the Canadian Side soaking up the view points it's a beautiful place on either side right by the falls I tend to stay away form both towns of Niagara Falls New York and Niagara Falls Ontario they both are becoming overpriced tourist trap and another plus side if I get there before 8am parking is generally free at Niagara Falls State Park
@NigelHay Niagara Falls State Park is usually a peaceful place I love all of Niagara Falls but like you said Table Rock Welcome Center gets insanely crowded around outdoor viewing areas and push and pile in even in the early morning I much rather be at Terrapin Point even if I can't see the whole Horseshoe Falls from there Terrapin Point in the early morning is so peaceful and beautiful Rainbows on a bright sunny morning

I preferred the US side due it being a park and not possession of zombies

My favorite time is around 5am and morning, any weather.
