  • This week we take you around the "Biggest Rock in the World".
We will share a bit of the aboriginal history of Burringurrah and the geology of it. Watch till the end to see if this place has Uluru beat!
Unlike Uluru you are allowed to climb to the top and enjoy the stunning 360° views. There are also shorter hikes for those not willing to do the full 12 km summit trail.
We also take you to some of the aboriginal art sites, that are accessible to the public. Even though this mountain is quite a trek out of the way, we highly recommend anyone to come and check it out.
...and hopefully you'll be luckier than us and get a beautiful sunset out there!
We also thank the Wajarri people for allowing everyone to come visit this special place and learn a bit about their culture.
PS: Please do some research before hitting the tracks, since they can change quickly and might get closed again!
    See you next week guys!

    Hi Jele and Patrick .
Another excellent adventure. Your enthusiasm and love of Australia is evident.
YOu have seen so much more of our 'back yard' than most Australians.
    Keep up the great work.
Thank you for taking us along.

Great music/editing choices, it's a real art. Can't think following Jele up a trail is a difficult task; and the views, swims in those canyons are on another level. Really enjoyed the ending/timelapse of what I assume is the Southern Star? Peace and Love from Cornwall, UK.

Thanks Al! It's not as easy as you might think. Jele has two speeds, full speed ahead (which is hard to keep up with especially when I'm carrying the backpack) and taking a rest. No in between 😁

Very well done! Beautiful location! Very different topography than what we have here in the US in the state of Montana. Besides the radio comms, do you also carry a satellite device such as a Garmin InReach or a ZOLEO? At least you have no need for bear spray like we have to carry since our grizzly population is doing very well here.
I hope your knee is on the mend as well!
    Your videography is top notch!

Thank you. Yeah the scenery in Montana is amazing. I've been once as a kid and remember it vividly. Would love to go back.
We dont carry a satellite device on our hikes, as we havent gotten into multi day hikes, where we would def start using one. Starlink is always running on the truck so worst case one of us would have to make it back there.
Yeah the only thing you need bear spray for in Australia is the drop bears ;) Wouldn't want to have too close of an encounter with a grizzly. Does the bear spray work?
The knee is getting better! Thank you!

@@PatandJele Glad to hear the knee is on the road to recovery! Yes, the bear spray works quite well most of the time!! Making lots of noise and being aware of your surroundings is the best way to avoid a confrontation with a bear.
Hopefully you’ll both be able to make it to the states in the future!! All the best!

Hello, did flies bother you on Uluru? How did you deal with them?

    • @PatandJele
      @PatandJele  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hey This is Mount Augustus in Western Australia, not Uluru :)
We went to Uluru 3 years ago though and the flies were pretty bad!!!!
You can get a fly net to cover your face :)
