Off and on since kunark. Just came back because i am old and decrepit and decided to challenge myself to manually boxing (No MQ or ISO) to keep up my dexterity and situational awareness. Its actually been a really fun time learning to setup and optimize a pair of 3 box setups and play them without 3rd party software. I have also decided that on that server, which i have no previous assets, i will do completion play and do the heroes journey and the slayer achievements.
After quitting EQ around 2004 or 2005, I came back a couple years ago for one of the time progression server launches. It was the launch that was closer to the old school rule set. I played for a few months and it was the most fun I'd had in a video game in years. The groups I met were awesome. Was a blast.
Very well done video, subscribed. I played project 99 a couple years ago and after the addiction set in too strong I had to stop and uninstall it. The term "Evercrack" is real. I do think Everquest is the best MMORPG ever, its brutal and unforgiving but that forces teamwork and interactions you would not get without its harsh nature.
They need to run that thing through unreal engine 5. I bought new wow expansion but have playing asheron's call 2 emulator witch wipes alot but have been having alot of fun.
The game still has it's charm even after 20+ years. And I think the TLPs suck, p99 is better. I used to play on Innoruuk server back in the day. (from launch to right after velious came out)
Why do you think TLPs suck? Now TLPs are for hardcore players because of the shortened timeframe to get through an expansion. I'm 5 years into Mangler TLP with only 3 expacs left before catching up to the Live servers. Was able to experience all the group and raid content in era which was a lot of fun.
What's wrong with TLPs? I played on Phinny up to SoD then got onto Mangler and I'm still going strong in Terror of Luclin and less than a month left, with 3 expacs left to get through.
@@andrewschliewe6392 Incorrect. Boxes are people playing an extra character or a few extra characters. Bots are automated by software. 2 boxing was around in classic EQ in 1999. I got bored of one toon and started 2 boxing. That is not a harm to other players. People having 6 automated mages is a BOT army, and is what ruins TLPs.
Break it down real fast for everyone. Its not fun and the pay to play servers are way over priced. Its near impossible to level without paying for that also. EQ = Crap.
Your opinion is noted... and dismissed. Just because you suck at a game and are jealous of those that have more than you doesn't mean everyone else thinks like you.
@thebuffshaman 😂 i think we are lucky to have ligit server like p99 to play this awesome game. I dont know what you d like different for a classic server... probly monts and a cash shop 😅
@@maj_mhaximusgg4168 It isn't the same code, the mechanics work differently than they did back then because they re-built the code. Their numbers for xp are harsher than they were in era on P99 so it actually takes more than it did back then to level. It's not exactly EQ as it was in a lot of ways thus a pale imitation.

I always used to play the evil races and then when the Iksar came out I exclusively played them so I spent a lot of time in Kunark.

Level 30 isnt coveted.....its not even useful as a druid, not a spell level. 29 is the coveted one.
Level 34 as well - got good spells on that level. I'm lvl 46 as of today!
Level 30 is a Hell level.. the worst one iirc. It is certainly coveted.
