I had one just like it except that had white lettering. Got it from Northern Hydraulics (now Northern Tool) in early 90's. Mine actually came with a 8" ice auger. I bought a 3'? extension pipe and the dirt auger like yours. Could be handled by one person or two. Made by Ardisam, Cumberland WI with a Tecumseh. There is also a gearbox on it. This is one machine that you want to always pour the fuel out when done. Worked like a champ.
This tecumseh 2hp 49cc motor was very common on tillers and eskimo and jiffy ice augers. Great little underrated motor. That plastic fuel inlet is available on amazon along with whole new carbs. Good video!
Great video, I would leave the fuel line alone as long as it's holding tight and not leaking. I have an Earthquake auger just like that, the engine is locked up on mine though, it was already locked up when I got it.
I appreciate this video, as you have made it quite informative, without abnoctious music in the background and a very good, distinguishable speaking voice. The fuel line fix will surely suffice.
Hi 😊. Nice to see the old machine come to life again. If it was me I would see if I could fix it. I also want to keep the machine. You always make great videos. I learn so much of you and many thanks for that 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇩🇰. Lars from Denmark. PS Google Translate
Wonderful job, and modification to the carorrtter , would probably be hard to.get replacement but it looks like the connection will be safe to use in the long term.
I didn’t even know this existed thanks for sharing I have watched your videos for a long time now and love to see the echos mostly but this is new to me
Hmm, I would definitely try to find a part or even a different carb if it was not to expensive. Plastic parts just do not last a long time. Seemed to run really well to me. Great demo of carb cleaning and repair. Thanks for the videos.
Nice to see you again haha, after I finish this video I'm going to watch the "primer bulb not working on chainsaw"video. Question do you think most eleven-year-olds don't watch these kinds of videos?
I just replaced that plastic elbow on a TC300. Tecumseh Part #640363. I ordered it through a local mower repair shop, because it was cheaper that online& shipping. 1.40 including tax. Snaps on to carb with quite a bit of pressure. I used channel locks and kept the elbow square while applying pressure.
@@HomeGaragechannel I cannot keep my TC300 from pulsing/oscillating. If I place my index finger on the throttle plate & manually ramp the rpms, it works fine. But the air vane is pivoting back and forth at high throttle. I had to adjust the governor screw in to lower the rpms in order to minimize the pulsing. New carb, new fuel line, clean tank, new plug, clean air filter, etc. But again, it works fine manually. Is the spring tension the problem? The vane appears ok, the flywheel has no broken fins and is clean? Any tips?
@@HomeGaragechannel Yes. The first carb was a fixed carb - the one I rebuilt and replaced the plastic fuel inlet with. I thought it was fuel related, so I bought another carb - one I could adjust the fuel mix with. Gas cap is fine. I am now certain it's not fuel related. As said in first post, if I use my finger to pivot the throttle linkage manually, it revs fine and it holds the rpm at where ever I manually pivot to with my finger. It's when I let the air vane control the rpms, via the throttle lever (that's connected to the governor slide bar). That's why I'm considering the governor spring being to weak. There is no debris around the fins on flywheel or on the air vane. And the air vane/throttle shaft rotates freely when engine is off - no binding. The rpm is actually much lower at full throttle now, because I had to adjust the governor screw in to prevent extreme pulsing/oscillating. The motor would stall under load if I adjusted the rpm up higher because of the low end of the pulsing. This unit has set for two years and owned by someone who did not want it anymore.
I'd just leave it be unless you happened to run across another fitting but it being that brand of carb, you might be able to get another part. Those Tecumseh engines were on the old Mantis tillers. I had 2 that ran just fine but I gave them away because I didn't have a use for them. Good fix and Blessings!
What is the long screw where the operation bar is connected to the main assembly. What does it adjust. Would send a pic but can't do that here! Got an email address for a picture of this part and it's purpose????? This would not start after 20 years. Changed the plug and fresh gas/oil mixture and off she went. But the auger itself wants to stop turning or turning slowly, but engine is running, for some reason. HELP!! Got a big Honeydew list and buying 60+ guitars, got to keep the BOSS Happy!! This Auger has only had about 20 hours on it, all post holes in easy South Carolina sandy black soil!!!!
I think as long as it doesn’t leak you should leave it. Also, I, like you repair small engines, and was wondering if you could do a video on how to stop gas from leaking out of a carburetor? Keep up the great work and videos!
Yeah, obviously the fuel line fix works, but I guess because of the 90' turn, it'll pinch and close over time and cause fuel starvation. But if you're getting it running, then it's a good bodge.
Ow that’s a pretty cool Machine, I don’t see many people have. This. I think this would be used ina. Company setting, for say, someone who needs to get a lot of holes quick for the fences, or maybe putting pylons in the ground.
I would suggest getting the plastic adapter thing for the fuel line on the carburetor I'd it can be replaced otherwise leave it as is and don't trouble trouble
Another great video. You make it look so easy. Personally, I’m with you in leaving the fuel line as is.
thank you Whatever pops up!
For those of you wondering, thanks to Amazon, these carburetors are easy to find. They are 12 bucks on Amazon. Several brands to choose from.
Thanks for the info!
Yeah i would leave fuel line connected, it seems a tight fit. And as you do a lot of repairs another connector may turn up. Cheers.
thank you Aussie nebula.

Nice old machine. I've been thinking about getting one for replacing some fence post. I think your fuel line will probably stay. Great video
thank you Chucks Repairs and Restoration

thank you John Franklin
Amazing walk through. 4:20 Never thought I'd see 'MADE IN IRELAND' on an engine part 🤣🇮🇪
LOL I pause the video because I had to double check.
That's right I forgot it said that
Great salvage! Only time will tell, but I think you did the right thing to fix it 👍🏻
thank you Catcha Cow.

I think it's pretty secure too. thank you Rick Thelian.
Love watching your videos. You make it a point to mention the details that a lot of guys miss.
Glad you like them!
I would just leave the fuel line as is. You are really good at rebuilding those little carbs.
thank you Brian King

thanks for the confirmation Waterman one.

thank you D Butler.
What if you try finding a brass part as a sort of upgrade? Maybe check out carbs for modern augers which might be compatible
You know, that's a good idea.
I had a old 2cycle Tecumseh edger, that the fuel inlet broke off the metal piece is press in,you can full it out with needle nose pliers.
thank you for the information Jerry Southerland.
Great little tool. Runs well. Thanks for saving it.
Thanks for watching David Coudriet.
Good work as always sir. I'd leave the fuel line as is, just cause I'm cheap and it works.
That's what I was thinking as well. Thank you Noah Durfey
Ever think of an ultrasonic for cleaning the carburetors?
yes, planning on getting one soon.
I have this same auger and no longer have the throttle bar. Do you think a newer style squeeze throttle could be fitted to work as a replacement?
yes I think you could get it to work

Great video. Love the detailed explanation. Unfortunately, my auger is not that brand.
thank you Donald Jones.
Is there any chance you have a Chinese Auger to repair as I'm having a buffer of a time getting mine to run.
Cheers
unfortunately no. Do you know if the engine is good condition? If so, I would just replace the fuel lines and carb to get it going again.
Right now, it's not broken so I wouldn't fix it. Great job! Thank you.
No problem!
I'd just leave it be unless you happened to run across another fitting but it being that brand of carb, you might be able to get another part. Those Tecumseh engines were on the old Mantis tillers. that makes sense, thank you Lewi McNeely
My weed eater has gas coming out the metering diaphragm cover what can i do to fix it? Its not building up pressure in the tank like it’s supposed to.
if it's leaking out the hole in the metering diaphragms plate that covers it, then I would replace the diaphragm.
Hello Home garage what do you do with the the mowers that you fix do you sell them or keep them
most are not mine, they are my friends or coworkers
What type oil does the gas need to be mixed with?
2 stroke oil, I use black max synthetic

thank you Christian Larsen I appreciate it!
Do you know what year that is from? Also the carburetor brand is one I have never heard of.
Not really, When I saw it, I was a little surprised because I haven't seen one like it.
I think as long as it doesn’t leak you should leave it. Also, I, like you repair small engines, and was wondering if you could do a video on how to stop gas from leaking out of a carburetor? Keep up the great work and videos!
thank you I appreciate it. Do you have a particular piece of equipment in mind to stop leaking?
@@HomeGaragechannel It’s an Echo SMR-210, and the gas is leaking out of the air filter cover.
oh, that's easy, you have to replace the carb because to rebuild it, it sometimes doesn't work to stop the leak
@@HomeGaragechannelYeah, I tried that. It worked for a day or two but then started back again.
gotcha. did you check to see if the Fuel filter was still connected to the Fuel line in the tank?
I got question why don't you just buy ultrasonic cleaner it would get the job done more efficient
I'm still working on which one to buy. Do you have one?
@@HomeGaragechannel ya if you add me on discord i can send you the link to the one i got
sorry no discord
Pulled my rope out, got it all back in but it won’t recoil, any suggestions?
yes take off the recoil cover and try spraying some wd40 where the spring is located.
Yeah, obviously the fuel line fix works, but I guess because of the 90' turn, it'll pinch and close over time and cause fuel starvation. But if you're getting it running, then it's a good bodge.

yes sir, I think you're right. thank you Alexander Costa.
How much do you think that auger could be sold for after getting it running?
tough to say, maybe about $150?
Why don't you use the spiral diaphragm kit whenever you are able to . they last forever .
That gas line has a life time guarantee!! when it breaks, that was the life of it
LOL!!
Leave it the way it is...
Thank you Ed Rodrigues.
Great job there Young Man 😎 👍
Thank you Robert Mailhos.

Glad you enjoyed it!
As cheap as carburetors are, I would replace it. Wish your videos were available twenty years ago😅
Thank you Ludvig Tankde, I appreciate the kind words.

Yes! Thank you!
Japanese Tanaka engine. Really strong engine
thanks for letting us know, I was wondering where it came from

I would just leave it as is. I agree I don’t think it will move
I agree with you Cole Steffens.
Here’s the part number for the barb: 128-166
there only 2 dollars but a fully metal one goes for 9$ or so

well said Peter Dang.
leave like that...

my thoughts exactly
I.d hunt down a new Carburator when the original one goes bad etc.
