I was at rank 100 when I realized I’d love to master cavalry class. Even tho I thought it might be too late, I decided to watch this video half a year ago with absolutely no knowledge and experience on the class. And now despite being a class 50 cavalry(with 50 service stars ;), I still learn new things watching your tips video!
So for any Bf1 players who wanna try out learning this class, trust me it’s worth it! You’d be the only one in the match who see the whole battle unfolding till the end. That, my friend, is the most amazing feeling you could ever get from this game. And once again, thank you Kill Zone for your guidance!
I hope someone still sees this comment, as important thing i found out using horse is to have at least 95 Field of view of infantry (which also increases horse field of view), it makes tracking enemy behind cover easeir and believe or not it makes using nades easier too. if it gets tricky with rifle, you can always reduce it by zooming.

I have always been garbage with the cavalry, and found the Lance pretty worthless. I am not lying or exaggerating at all, but after I watched this video I decided to give it a try again and went 23-3 first game, 31-5 the second game as cavalry. You seriously changed the class for me, and made it so so much more fun. Probably the best how-to video I've ever seen for anything, thanks for the hard work!

Something that this TH-camr Wendel does is he drops a health pack and rears the horse and he’s able to heal immediately on the go without dismounting. He’s also a freakin cowboy with his accuracy while moving on horseback. Really good cavalryman.

Unfortunately the amazing accuracy is due to aim assist. This video was before the aim assist nerf on console patch came out. I know this because I play on ps4 and the cavalry aim assist was so OP, until the patch.
You do realise you don't have to stop to heal, stopping is stupid as fuck, you get mowed down the second you stop running

This vid man... I wanted to love the lance since it came out, but i just couldn't figure it out, i saw this video 1 month ago i think, and since then I only use the lance... It's doing wonders, you basically win every cav vs cav fight if you dont do anything stupid. You explained the timing perfectly, timing is everything with this weapon. Great vid man, one of the best tutorials of bf1 out here
Amazing video, really shots and awe-inspiring gameplay footage. You make some very nice points too, especially since you provide the exact same gameplay that you base your tips on. Also, you don't beat around the bush, you made a very well informed video and honestly seem like a down-to-earth fellow just wanting to pass knowledge to other interested cavalry trainees. I can't imagine how long it must've taken to edit the video and find all the right clips to show!

Hey man nice video. The biggest takeaway that I got from you that I never could figure out is the timing. Time it early because the hitbox is big and lasts long. I kept swinging intuitively at first and wondered why I couldn't kill anything

I sucked on Cavalry until I saw your videos. Started using the class two weeks ago and am now rank 30, getting kd's of 20:1 regularly, and enjoying the game again. I focused on support until I was usually on top of the scoreboard every game and it became boring. Cavalry and your videos gave me a new interest in the game. Thanks!

Ive been loving the chalvalry lance since it came out in the Russian dlc.
I only have 19 service stars and I thought I knew it all but this vedio has some great tips that I didn't know.

dude... i never played bf1 when it came out, and got off the boat just few months ago, as a bf5 refugee (on account of that game sucking complete ass). i sucked so hard at cavalry; a total fucking potato.
then i watched literally maybe a half hour of your tutorials around 6 to 8 weeks ago--
i'm now lvl 30 French Heavy Mounted Nobility, with dozens and dozens of lance service stars, stomping most pubs with an ease that feels like cheating. you fuckin' nailed it with these tips, man. thank you a thousand times over for getting me to troll levels of cheese with these horseys!

Excellent video! I primarily use the lance myself. it just feels more consistent to me in comparison to the cavalry sword. I'd still like to master that sword though... Would you have any tips for a lance user on how to use the cavalry sword effectively?
What I’ve noticed from playing is that with the cavalry rank 10 white horse skin, most sensible people will try to avoid you than try and shoot at you because it takes a considerable amount of effort to get that far into the cavalry class. If you go with the default horse skins infantry on foot will think you’re more amateur at the class and lay more fire down on you. If your target is enemy horse riders however, and they’re ranked higher in the class, choosing the default horse skins can lead them into thinking you’re amateur and will take more risks and be less careful around you.
Also you can put the gas mask on while riding the horse. It doesn’t protect the horse from gas but it does the rider. If you put it on while you’re on the horse the gas mask doesn’t show up cosmetically on the rider but if you reembark your horse it’ll show up and you’ll look pretty freaky lol
Fellow 100ss horse member! A big thing with the rifle I have found is knowing how to strafe and loop with the horse so you're always moving around when engaging infantry. Galloping in circles and taking my shots when the reticle aligns has won me many fights when used in conjunction with grenades. You should only stop on horseback with the rifle when the enemy is unaware, or you know you can finish them off before they can do the same to you. I'm probably 50/25/25 with rifle, sword and grenades. You have encouraged me to give the spear another look though!

Yeah, rifle primarily, on some maps, but on others like suez, lupkow pass, ballroom blitz, fao fortress, that have a bunch of safe routes for engaging the enemies and escape, and ofc if I manage to avoid the Zerg, I’ll use the lance primarily. I have two videos showing the rifle style if you’re interested in that

How do you fight other cavalry lance users as well? Usually we end up trading if we both know how to land the lance so how do I kill other riders without trading? Any tips or is the rifle and grenades the only way?

18:08 depending on the situation it’s bad, sometimes I’ve runned into a tank/more players while doing this. I’d say that it’s good if it’s a area that you’re 99% sure that’s clean, but most times just looking to the front and going side to side seems to be better

Nice video. I'm rank 50 with the cavalryman, but I mainly got that early in the game's life when the sword had a more generous hitbox. Now I think I'll get back in the saddle and try the Lance more.
Couple little tips you may or may not agree with:
- When running over lying down enemies, it's important you aim to trample their upper chest area. Running over their legs does nothing.
- Very rarely there'll be a guy lying down (especially on some rocks) and totally oblivious. Sometimes it makes sense to simply hot off the horse on top of him and stab him, rather than drop two grenades, as they might not be recharged yet or they might bounce funny and let him get away.
- Playing on console, it's a lot harder to hit rifle shots so don't bother as much (unless you somehow master it) but enemies turn slower so it's easier to confuse them by running around them.
- Horse-on-horse engagements can often end in a draw where you both die if you both time your attacks correctly. I prefer to just lead the enemy horse back to my teammates if he's chasing me, then his focus will be divided and we can kill him together.
- I'm sure you'll mention it if you do a horse-vs-tank video, but the key is staying behind them at all times so they can't fire at you and keep nading. This makes some Light Tanks impossible to properly engage, better to just hit and run. Artillery Trucks can't fire their main guns while they move, so feel free to chase them if they start driving away, but then hit-and-run once they stop.
- If you know you're about to die as you're fighting a tank, you can throw one extra nade by hopping off the horse.
- Pay attention to both the health bars. If someone is gunning you down but only hitting your horse, you can hop off it and hide. The horse dying will kill you too if you're on it, but not if you aren't. Plus they may stop firing at the horse itself if they see you get off. You may be able to chill behind cover long enough for the horse to regain health.
- If you play on mic with squadmates, use yourself as a mobile spawn beacon. Ride the horse to far-off un-defended points and hop off next to it. Your squadmates can now spawn on you and take the point.
I have a bunch of videos of me horsing around on my channel if you dig that stuff too.
Oh and I totally forgot: Drop health packs and ammo packs infront of your teammates! They recharge so quickly so there's no reason not to just throw them around all the time. You help your team and get a bunch of score for doing so.

Are there any requirements to unlock the lance? Name of Tsar DLC, Premium, Or a certain task or rank.
I usually try to pick off enemy’s that are using cover to to fire at my team by flanking or by killing off enemy’s that are distracted by my team so they can capture points
i dont know if back then didnt work but now if you use your health pack it regen your horse (you werent using them)
Would love to see Cavalry vs Cavalry guide, specifically melee vs melee (lance/sword vs enemy sword/lance) head on, what is the best way to kill a Cavalry with the Lance, left or right reticle? Where is the hitreg? I find Cavalry vs Cavalry the most difficult when going Melee vs Melee because its always such a damn LUCKY/BULLSHIT kill... always when i seem it was ME who was supposed to kill him as my strike was better, HE kills me... and vice versa... it doesnt make sense....

10:44 another way and I think that actully should be strategy #1: use your rifle from distance. You don't need to wait for them to disperse while walking around. Get good at using your rifle while in a horse, then he could have taken 2 of these 4 guys, either wait for reload and take the other 2 again with the rifle or engage with the lance after. In fact, your rifle should always be the 1st choice, and the lance the 2nd option
Hey Killzone, nice vid. I wonder what it would be like to have more than one expert cavalry rider in a game terrorizing an enemy team. I’ve looked at my stats on battlefieldtracker.com and it says I’m in the the top .1% of cavalry riders on Xbox, so I probably don’t have very many equals to partner with.
Great video, and I don’t know if you still reply, but on operations (especially on st quinten). I always find that 2 or 3 support players at even a substantial distance will shred the horse, how do you evade that? And in when you’re in over your head what would be the best course of action?
For machine gunners and against smart players in general you gotta use the rifle. He doesn’t do it justice here since it’s easily the strongest cav weapon and by extension the strongest anti infantry weapon in the game. It’s literally a sniper rifle you get to use with none of the downsides sniper users normally get. If you’re ever having trouble just put about a hundred meters between you and your problems and click them away.
As a level 50 Cavalry who just switched to the lance, great tips! Please make more! At the end you asked about play styles, I tend to play the cavalry very aggressively, and try to strategically ride into large groups of infantry that aren't paying attention to me, to get as many quick kill streaks as possible and then I ride out as soon as things could turn badly. How to get this Lance?
I am a boss with this horse.
I didn't use any videos to learn i just figured it out how to use it over the past weeks.
I play sinai desert or suez and always get 20 kills or more.
The whole team is always after me they become support to kill me with lmg or try killing my with another horse but i knock em off with my lance
At the end of the vid you kill three enemy cav. Is a best case scenario to dismount, kill your horse then start riding theirs, thus taking a horse away from them?
Does your class/weapons change if you do this?

I think the sword is in fact more useful in situations where a squad is very close together and in a fairly open area (ex: between D / B on St. Quentin, on the hill at C on Suez or between A / B). I think those situations are pretty dangerous though if they happen to all coordinate and focus on you at once bc you'll die so quickly. Agreed though that the sword just *feels* cool af sometimes 😅

But it was so frustraiting to miss my targets so many times... :( just when I though I was in the right direction and missed again.

Si. I got some kills with the lance tonight but still quite hard to get them. I believe I also need to adjust it for the ping I usually play on (around 147) but it is really fun to play as Cavalry
